Today, Supreme Archangel Aziraphale found the scrivener he accidentally vanished four months ago - she was only a little worse for wear, once the screaming had stopped.
Today, Supreme Archangel Aziraphale found himself daydreaming about crêpes, and wondering if the trip to Paris would be worth it without a certain temptation waiting on the other side of the Channel.
Today, Supreme Archangel Aziraphale noticed a nightingale singing whilst he was going on a sunrise stroll through St James Park.
He had to sit down a minute, and half-expected a familiar black-clad figure to slouch into the other side of the bench.
It didn’t.

Today, Supreme Archangel Aziraphale finally managed to tear himself away from Archive Of Our Own - bestowing blessings upon it as he did so, of course - and realised with a dramatic gasp that he had been completely immersed in the delights of fanfiction for weeks!
It should have shocked Aziraphale that not one single person had noticed his absence - but it didn’t, not really.
There was only one person who’d ever noticed anything about him at all.
Today, Supreme Archangel Aziraphale discovered explicit fanfiction. Once again, he didn’t get a whole lot else done.
Today, Supreme Archangel Aziraphale discovered fanfiction. He didn’t get a whole lot else done.
Today, Supreme Archangel Aziraphale tried to remember the names of all the stars in the sky, and wondered why he never took the time to ask.
Today, Supreme Archangel Aziraphale visited the bookshop, as he tended to on a Friday. He was very surprised to be immediately presented with a heart-shaped cake by Muriel!
After thanking them profusely and taking an eager bite, he then choked when Muriel informed him that it had been left for him by somebody else.
He knew who.
When he returned to Heaven, it was with a belly full of cake, a smile on his face, and a quiet hope growing in his chest.
Today, Supreme Archangel Aziraphale had a headache. He could have miracled it away, but he found it was almost nice to have a different kind of pain to focus on for a while.
Today, Supreme Archangel Aziraphale miracled himself up a bottle of Châteauneuf-du-Pape and got drunk alone in his office.
Today, Supreme Archangel Aziraphale wondered how Gabriel and Beelzebub were doing. Not that he was envious, or anything like that, no, not at all. Not even a little bit. Nope. Not a scintilla.
Today, Supreme Archangel Aziraphale went for a walk in the rain. It hadn’t been raining when he started walking, but dark clouds seemed to gather above him wherever he went.
At least the ducks in St James Park were happy.
Today Supreme Archangel Aziraphale realised that it was the Year of the Snake, and with a wistful smile, sent good thoughts for the future out to one wily serpent in particular.
Today, Supreme Archangel Aziraphale decided he needed a break from the narrow-minded binary thinking of his colleagues, so he slid on some heels and a rhinestone-encrusted dress and went to one of his favourite establishments in Soho. He particularly appreciated the beautiful trans drag queen who did a very enchanting routine singing to Queen songs whilst stalking about the stage in a slinky black dress.
And if he wiped away tears during a poignant rendition of Somebody To Love and sneaked out of the door before he was spotted, that was nobody’s business but his own.
Today, Supreme Archangel Aziraphale visited the ruins of a church. It was even more beautiful than he remembered, covered with moss and wildflowers, the earth reclaiming it.
He walked along the uneven stone floor, remembering a night long ago, how a demon had burned his feet raw walking upon consecrated ground, walking into certain danger for no other reason than to save an angel who had refused to speak to him for decades.
Aziraphale knelt on the floor, and pressed his fingers to the rough, cracked stone.
When he finally got up and began to walk away, sprigs of purple hyacinth sprang up, blooming through the cracks beneath his feet.
Today, Supreme Archangel Aziraphale visited Edinburgh, kicked a statue, swore a little, then returned to Heaven feeling slightly better.
Today, Supreme Archangel Aziraphale prayed for those whose faith had been shattered, for those betrayed by someone they adored, for everyone who had placed their trust in the wrong places. He knew how that felt better than anyone, as he got down on his knees and prayed to a God who wasn’t listening, and never answered.
