Update June 2026: Blegh most of the (good omens) tags below are pretty much irrelevant by now but I still try to tag things properly or with spoilers. I'll organize this post when I get the chance.

I generally don't tag anything that is generic good omens fanart or anything that contains spoilers for the book, S1, or most of S2. I also don't tag shitposts, memes, interesting art, and random posts here and there. The following are tags that I do make an effort to add.

#gos3 : anything related to gos3. This will be the tag I use for most production stuff, including promotional materials. Also discussions about s3 based on canon.

#gos3 unofficial: photos of the set, hints that are not confirmed to have spoilers, etc. Discussions based on sets/promotional materials.

#good omens spoilers : actual spoilers from the last bit of gos2 onwards. I will continue using this tag for the Final Fifteen until the finale comes out. I'll use it for the finale for a while. I will use this for any potential leaks or significant hints/drops from s3 production as well.

#good omens speculation : speculation on s3, or s2 theories pertaining to potentials in s3.

#good omens meta / #good omens theory : usually I only add this to my own meta posts

#gos2 : anything from good omens season 2 (no longer actively adding for the first 95% of s2)

#special spoilers : anything Dottie/Sadie related

#fic rec : fanfic recommendations. I may use this for published lit as well.

#not good omens : I'm not super consistent about this but I try to add this to anything relating to other fandoms or other irl things.

i'm not seeing enough appreciation for the absolute master class that is the moment grace chooses to remove his helmet for the first time in the xenonite tunnel.

he's terrified, yet his instinct to trust is stronger than his instinct to survive. he's afraid, and he knows he could possibly suffocate to death in that moment, but something in that early meeting calls him on a deeper level to connect with rocky. to trust him with his literal life.

as grace contemplates removing the helmet, the camera cuts back to rocky - who intentionally leans forward slowly and clicking cautiously, anxious to see if this kind human is going to trust him the way he does.

cut back to grace and he removes the helmet on blind faith. he exhales overwhelming sighs of relief; the music swells and resolves; rocky chirps and jumps for joy; grace softly smiles, and so does damn near everyone in the audience. the moment is potent and raw. it assures the characters and the audience alike: you can count on me. you are not alone. we can figure this out if we stay curious about each other.

the scene then ends on a wide shot of their two ships bound together, spinning in synchronized centrifugal gravity, over beautiful resolving chords of melody and harmony. it shows us a powerful visual of the birth of their unbreakable physical and emotional bond. dependability and loyalty is built and earned, but these two could actually trust each other with their lives from the very start.

their fates are now literally entwined.

being anti-amatonormativity in a romance centered world is like watching half the people you know put all their eggs in one basket and then drop the basket and all their eggs break and they’re crying and swearing they’re never gonna do that again and then a month later they have all new eggs in a new basket and they tell you the problem was they didn’t have a strong enough basket or fresh enough eggs and then they drop the fucking basket again.

i love grace-rocky-adrian poly, don't get me wrong, but i don't think it should be instant. i think it should be hard, i think they should struggle, i think it should take work.

rocky was gone for about a fourth of the time he and adrian were a couple. what's it like to wait 50 years for your mate, not knowing if they're alive? was adrian close to the families of the other crew? was there any kind of support group? was adrian the last one holding out hope for a return?

and then what's it like to wait so long, with everyone thinking they're in denial, only for their mate to beat the odds and come home? except he's deeply traumatized and single-mindedly focused on the alien he brought with him.

rocky a frantic, rushing mess between mission debriefings and worrying about grace. how long is it even before rocky and adrian get to talk? really talk. does adrian attend rocky's thrum and hear everything that happened and want to talk to him, connect, reach out, but rocky can't leave grace alone for longer than he absolutely has to. apologizes, promises they will, but he doesn't stop moving towards the space elevator.

adrian understands what's going on. logically they do, but that's all it is. logic, rationality, information, empathy. but that doesn't change the way they felt all this time, the way they feel now. it doesn't bond them to grace.

but adrian does feels gratitude towards grace! they're bursting with relief and joy and endless thanks for him both solving the astrophage problem and bringing their love home to them. that he sacrificed his life and risked the certainty of his own planet's salvation to do so.

but also, in doing so, grace has stolen rocky from them.

adrian is kind to grace, respectful towards grace, works on grace's biodome as hard and as seriously as they can. but that doesn't mean they love grace. and even if they do, that doesn't erase the pain.

and what can adrian even do with this pain? what are the social implications? eridians mate for life, so adrian has to find a way to make this work. can adrian talk to others about it, or do they fear appearing ungrateful? their mate was the only one to survive, why do they complain?

will the other crew's family still accept them into their support circle, or does rocky's survival change things? will adrian be asked to leave because their presence is a painful reminder? because adrian is talking about something else now?

do people hate adrian because rocky couldn't fix it, couldn't save them? do people take their suffering out on adrian because they can't take it out on the savior? does adrian become a buffer between rocky and the real world's criticisms and critical questionings and doubts?

what's it like to be the beloved mate of erid's savior? what social pressure are they put under? what's it like for your species to see your relationship as a poetic love story? what's it like for the planet that saved your people to be named after you?

what's it like to be constantly told how lucky you are, even when your mate never leaves someone else's side? do people see rocky and grace together and feel sorry for adrian? are people angry at rocky on their behalf? angry at grace?

how long does adrian have to grin and bear it?

how much longer before adrian's no longer alone?

Fuck. I'm gonna say this way less eloquently, but this is 100% why Adrian and Grace bond. Not through Rocky, but despite them.

Grace is the one who is sympathetic to Adrian's plight. Grace is the one who knows how isolating it is to be celebrated. Grace is the one who treats Adrian as a person.

Grace knows Rocky's flaws, sees how little time they're spending with Adrian. Grace is the #1 Adrian defender. It takes Grace time to heal and reach out, and it takes Adrian time to be receptive to his genuineness, but once they finally connect, suddenly there's even more feelings to sort through.
