I appreciate efficiency over foolishness. Efficiency is greatest to finally defeat the organic echidna, and I do not wish to ever delusion that I am anything more than I truly am. The predicament with Metal Sonic and his inevitable downfall is a failure of Dr. Eggman’s foolish, emotional programming, and I do not wish to suffer from the same consequences. That is why. For your interest in my current status; I am recovering after a fatal battle against Knuckles the Echidna. He had weaponized his speed to evade my superior size and strength, allowing him to successfully drive me back and protect the Master Emerald and Angel Island from the world’s inevitable, encroaching monochrome and mechanical transition. I am not only repairing myself, I am upgrading to become more powerful. It wasn’t just a mere loss against the guardian; I found my own victories, and I am refining myself to capitalize on such. For a simplified summary: I am upgrading.

It's funny. I'm the older robot physically, but I feel so much safer when you're holding me. Much like when my teammates are with me. For a model that never got to have a proper fight, you have your ways. Is that just inherent bravado?
