ok i know this is like. uh oh crimes! but i really hope this isn't just moments handing us some flavour text that never gets expanded upon. i think we should have a little caprico content for chapter 10. as a treat.
But also. Caprico works with the Justiciars... So would by any chance those people be the Justiciars' enemies? Or did he get a very expensive commission from a rich client who just straight up did. That. And got away with it.
i don't know the most about shining nikki lore but from what i understand the justiciars probably wouldn't pull this kind of stunt? it seems underhanded. i feel like if they're gonna involve caprico they're more likely to get a whole bunch of weapons from him and fight enemies head on
an expensive commission from a client, though, would make a lot of sense and isn't something i'd considered. if that's the case, it'd be a question of a) who has the money for this and b) who would want whatever this is to happen
the only person i can think of who's probably rich enough to pay for this kind of stunt is mercury, but i don't know enough about him to know if he'd have a motive
Yeah, it definitely doesn't sound like a Justiciar thing, but I'm just theorising.
Mercury IS rich enough and might have enough influence to cover up his tracks, but I don't think he would. His interest mostly lies in Designer's Reflection, after all. Plus, I think Caprico would know he'd be neck deep in hot water if he'd even try business with Mercury whilist he's working for Zoey.
So... Somebody else is the culprit.
okay yeah that all checks out. i am also theorising i do not pretend to know anything about shining nikki ever. and we're probably not finding this out in chapter 10 like you said in your tags. i hold out hope for it to be plot relevant at some point at least
