the speeches continue to echo and repeat throughout the large crowd of memorial goers, gwen being no different as she runs over each spoken word and unsaid opinion spoken to the gathered people. last year had been hard, a decade without her husband and daughter had left her hollow and lost, but this year she feels at peace. able to step forward and remember those lost with memories of good times and no tears - max would be so proud.

left post context: it is an image of the piano that had been her one piece of entertainment at her family estate, an old friend, which she had been rumoured to have been set alight after her escape to max's arms. the photo was posted as soon as she found out, for she lost a friend that day. a source of happiness and distraction from the world her childhood had become. right post context: posted a few years before the battle of hogwarts, the image showcases a young gwen and max in an enamoured embrace mid dance - the song playing was love me tender and was the song of their first dance from their wedding. the few photos that do feature on her instagram often involve max, lily and their lives prior to disaster. it is clear from the image that gwen is carefree and relaxed.

context: here we have one of gwen's rare instagram posts and it's even one of those photo carousels - she's a tech genius now! she still lives in the townhouse in london which she shared with max and their daughter, she hasn't changed many things over the last decade and it shows. the colourful accents throughout the house were max's choices - those bathroom tiles where a battle which he one - and now she lives in this large home all alone. she is currently considering renting one of the spare rooms out.

the patient gwen is treating snickers at astoria's declaration, earning a stern glare from the mediwitch before a silencing pat on the arm - she would speak to the young repeat patient later. " rest, i will be back to check on you in an hour before discharge, okay pete ? " a firm nod leaves gwen satisfied before she turns and offers a kind smile to the young woman, a hand gently hovering at astoria's elbow to guide her away from the bed. " and that is nothing to be ashamed of, miss greengrass. " perhaps gwen sees her own daughter in the young woman - lily would be coming up to twenty six this year if she were still breathing - and perhaps that is why her voice softens, her cheeks ache, as does her heart. over the past couple of weeks, clementine has heard variations of the disgruntled complaints regarding the cinnamon, to her own chagrin – suddenly having the corporate obligation to defend the smell, when it was far from her favourite to begin with. her instinctual polite smile drops just a touch when she sees who the speaker is, vague memories of discomfort haunting the peripherals of her mind.   “ that's christmas for you. ”    she offers an open-arm shrug. it takes only a moment for the recollection to settle – there hadn't been that many grumpy people at the renaissance faire. the politeness can only extend so far, and hopefully anyone on shift who'd snitch on her was out of earshot.    “ welcome to hell. what can i get you? ”

cinnamon was a harsh reminder of the holidays she spent holed up in her room as a child, the spice was littered in candles and aromas all around the yaxley estate - her mother's favourite - and quickly became associated with nausea and lonely nights caring for herself. her face doesn't hold back as a grimace pulls at sharp features, though she is careful to swallow down any crude remarks. not today, gwen. "if only christmas was more subtly scented." tense shoulders ease a little at clementine's words, manicured fingers lifting to run through curled tresses - made up just for a cup of coffee, how bougie. "does hell offer a really milky latte? because i would murder for one right now."

sunflower : what brings your muse the most joy in life ?

children. from her younger brother when they were back home, to memories of her daughter lily to the children whom enter st. mungos. children are her joy for they are innocents in a world of cruelty.

hibiscus : how does your muse view the gentler , daintier things in life ? as things worth preserving & caring for , or things only bound to wither & disappear ?

if you had asked a few years ago, then gwen would have said they would wither, die and crush beneath her feet. however, as the grief is less likely to swallow her whole and her heart is opening to the good memories, she finds herself wanting to protect the gentle things in life.

rose : how much does your muse value other people ? do they wish to have many friends , lovers , and/or associates ? are they an easy person to love ?

gwen is not an easy person to love in her own eyes, but max would often tell her that she was like a breath needed to live. she was simple and easy to let a heart take hold of. as for valuing other people, she doesn't show it, but the mediwitch has a big heart for people - with saying that, she is simply floating through life until she passes. if she gains new people in her life, then she will accept them, however, she won't go looking for them.

violet : how does your muse respond to betrayal ?

she's still a yaxley in her genes and it definitely comes out when a betrayal has been sown. she won't be one of those to argue or throw a fit face-to-face, no. gwen would slowly and slightly belittle, whisper rumours and spill awful secrets (whether true or not, well who cares) - a great example was of her time at beauxbatons when another girl had been her friend only to get close to her max. that was a no-no. gwen's pretty sure she's living in romania now.

he's looked better, he realizes; less bloody, more together. less tilted, too, though a steadying grip at the edge of the counter as he waits patiently for the wix to turn and notice him does wonders where previously he was struggling to stay fully upright. niko's priorities are, as always, all over the place. he'd won the fight, so he's already feeling pretty chuffed despite how ROUGH he looks, but whatever urgency he felt towards getting seen by a medical professional anytime soon goes out the window the minute gwendolyn spins. "hi," he says, all silk, leaning forward and baring his bloodied teeth in the nearest equivalent of a charming smile that he can manage, "it must be my lucky day."

potential patient was less than correct, this man was a definite patient by the looks of him. the receptionist is staring at the man with wide eyes - like a deer caught in headlights - before stepping back and rushing away from the mess that surely was drawing gwendolyn in, or perhaps it was the blood between canines that frightened the young lady. we may never know. slipping the sweet cane from between her lips, the mediwitch quickly slips it into the top pocket of her uniform ( for later, of course ) before features fall between flattered and confused. "hello," there's a slight chuckle to her voice as she takes in the patient's attempt at sauve, "as much as i love bloody smiles, i think we should get you into an exam room and get a look at you away from the front desk, sir?"

"twenty three days?!" the medi-witch has to stop herself from spitting the expensive red from between her lips as she stares at her - friend? acquaintance? fellow widower? - incredulously. "you cannot be serious, hana, surely?" placing down her glass, gwen studies the auror with keen interest. was she counting? even gwen had brought some warmth back into her heart here and there - in an office, a closet, behind a shop - to feel something. these days sometimes thats all you need. to feel something, anything. "have you got a special calender set up for such rendevouz?"
