“Winterreise” by Inken Stabell

The other day my partner and I were having a drink at a nice lil arts venue and we got chatting to this very sweet guy and he's asking about what kind of stuff I make and my partner is like 'any art or craft, she can just do it. No seriously *any* craft it's amazing.' and I think I didn't really notice that at the time but how sweet that he thinks that way 😭

Do you think Everything Everything's music has aged well? I go back and forth on it.

Man alive remains a solid album but 98% of the rest I would say no, it lacks the courage and complexity of man alive and even their earlier B-sides and falls into repetitive sounds & half baked vaguely dystopian lyrics. I think man alive holds because it's earnest and so it can be silly but it can also be beautiful. Their current stuff I can't stand tbh!

#I kinda smashed it with this one tbh #it's been hanging around my studio for like 4 months unfinished #was going to do quite a complicated over paint but as soon as I started laying in the drawing #I was like you know what. that's it

Might fuck around and apply for the painting MA at the Royal Academy.... You know how in your late 20s everyone either goes to Japan or gets a masters?

#ironically Japan trip makes more financial sense in this economic climate #I do not know how ill fund 3years of full time study but we can cross that bridge when we get to it #likelyhood of being accepted is so low anyway
