“Lucky you. You can do muscle training even in prison.”
wake up call // maroon 5
and it’s not my fault 'cause you both deserve what’s coming now so don’t say a word
Ratio is squinting, as if he is glaring at something.
In reality, however, his covered eye just itches really badly.
“What are you my mother? —I’m fine now. I told you.”
Maybe a bit uncalled for, but in Birthday’s defense, Ratio was over protective of the electric current. And in front of blonde too, no doubt. He didn’t want to appeal as weak in front of hot babes. In front of anyone. Birthday was not the definition of the word ‘weak’. Nor did he want to be. As stated before, he wouldn’t leave Ratio unless he know he would be okay. It was not time yet. No… Not yet. Stubbornly, he curled up int a ball, arms crossed and eyes glued to the grossly colored wall off the edge of the bed. He even ignored the young nurse, jotting down things of her stupid little note pad. Then left. Great.
Wait for the lady to leave.
Gone.
"I threw up yesterday. Didn’t want to tell you. I thought it
was really bad Chinese food, turns out— it might be
linked to the seizure I earlier had. I mean, it’s not that
bad.”
”Don’t give me that look—.”
He assumed it was disappointment. Not like it was anything new to him how Ratio felt about this subject. It was one of the reasons Ratio left his eye patch on in the first place— to seize the urge to check on Birthday. To make sure everything was normal— not active. Now, he’ll insist to take it off to watch over him, and it was something Birthday didn’t exactly want.
Cerulean eyes filled with dismay gazed at the other's back, completely . A doctor should not have strong emotional attachments towards their patients, but Ratio just couldn't help that. Feelings of anxiety were always there when Birthday exhibited such horrible symptoms. Ratio did have to keep an eyepatch to avoid checking on him, but the temptation to do it regularly was tempting.
However, did Birthday really deserve that?
He deserved to have fun as always and live a normal life, not undergo regular check-ups and further any possible worries about the issue. That was how Ratio felt, and so he supressed that temptation even further.
"I will give you that look." Ratio's tone and expression hardened, but they both soon softened to a more melancholy state.
"... Why didn't you tell me sooner? Have you had any other unusual symptoms?" Perhaps he was rather rapid with his questions, but he had to clarify.
If only Birthday did tell him at least about the vomitting. Ratio would have been more capable. Being put in the dark made him uncomfortable, when Ratio of all people had been capable of seeing everything-- or almost everything. What good would it be if he couldn't help him in time?
Upon seeing the individual before him, his physical status was suddenly reviewed. Thus, leaving the dragon slayer confused at the statement on how he knew exactly what was wrong with the salamander. "Eh? I was on a fighting mission yesterday, but I don’t feel any pain whatsoever."
"Missions?" Ratio echoed.
Surely he meant hired jobs-- such as detective work, guard duty, or interference. The way he spoke, though, implied greater purposes and actions. What those were exactly, were a mystery.
The doctor wasn't one to pry, but he did have a habit of gathering information. He would prefer to ask just for the sake of knowing, just in case the stranger may become a future patient.
"I see... What do you do exactly?"
I’ll protect them.
Even if it means to lay my life down for them.

I have to find him soon.
He did as told, not willingly though. Grumbles left the overactive male’s thin lips as he laid to face the hospital window as directed. With such a sensitive illness, you’d think Birthday would be more humble to the terms ‘lay down and rest’. Not with the short attention span he had. With the Doc restlessly on his way, all there was to do was wait. Waiting for another talk. Just like last time. Although, it had been years, this one would be a little bit more— different per se.
Oh but the view—
Wasn’t he always going to admire a woman of get assets?
And a nurse, no doubt.
Hello deep desirable fantasy~
“Are you here to check my heart rate? You can feel is
better with your hand on my bare chest.”
Nice.
Whom to have come in at a better time then his partner? Oh yes, Ratio was always one to cockblock him on everything. Every nurse was a target, and yet, each was a hit and miss when he was around.
“What timing you have…”
At last, Ratio had made it to the hospital. He did not bother checking in up front, seeing as he was already wearing a white jacket that just screamed he was a doctor. With the hallways hardly occupied, Ratio furtively took off his eyepatch and used his Minimum until he found a body that had matched Birthday's.
There he is...
Now that he knew where he was, he recovered his eyepatch and went straight for the correct room. As usual, whenever he was a patient, he would always hear some sort of flirting with the nurses.
What timing he did have.
Sigh... At least he seems somewhat healthy.
Ratio barged in regardless, taking a brief second to catch his breathe after such a hasty journey here.
"Birthday, you'd better be behaving yourself..." He would pardon for his stern tone later. He was simply worried and he cared about whether he was pushing his luck or not. "Anyways, are you experiencing any other symptoms? What did happen, to start?"
[text]: Doc
Well I can’t move anyways.
[text]: Doc
Sorry, in advanced.
Jeez, how could have anything become so troublesome. Just laying here int he hospital got him to think terrible things, which wasn’t like him at all. Birthday was the confident type, one to think better of the situation. This time was different. This time— it wasn’t just a hospital trip. This was a seizure. How did he wake here? It was a mystery. Everything was confusing, and Ratio would make sense of all of it.
[Text:] I know, but... Anyways.
[Text:] Don't apologize. I'm not going to let things get worse.
[Text:] Lay on your side and keep texting so you stay awake. You need to watch your breathing until i get there.
Ratio would save the rest of his questions, regarding how the incident unfolded, for when he arrived at the hospital. He stepped into the car, in his haste having his phone only right next to him rather than going through the trouble of putting it in his pocket. Stepping on the gas with a bit more pressure than he might have intended, he started making his way in the hospital's direction.
Been a while, Art
[text]: Hey-- You might need to come to the hospital.
"…"
[Text:] Wait right there and don't move
[Text:] I'll be there right away.
Ratio stood up from his seat without hesitation, and strode towards the doorway. He had to hurry.
