Collagraphs of Afro Cuban artist Belkis Ayon, 1967-1999
Collagraphy is a printmaking technique where textured elements like paper, fabric, plant fibers etc. are collaged onto a firm substrate and then ink is impressed into the textured areas below the surface of the plate (intaglio inking) the plate is extremely sensitive to how ink is applied and removed making it difficult to edition… these are really cool to me ;;
