Jorge Gonzalez, suffered a broken neck, and a compressed spine at the hands of 3 sheriff deputies in Texas. He couldn’t even hold his head up for this mugshot…so they had to hold it up for him. They actually thought the mugshot was more important than a hospital visit.

After a deputy tripped him he hit his face hard and went unconscious. They tased him couple of times “to wake him up”.

He was left paralyzed neck down, went through a series of surgeries, and was in ICU on the ventilator for over a month after the arrest.

According to the hospital he went over 26 hours in Hidalgo County jail without necessary medical attention that could have saved his life.

Rangers investigating arrest by sheriff’s office - The Monitor

The Texas Rangers are investigating an incident involving the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office after the family of a man who died last month

“Deputies advised Gonzalez he was being placed under arrest for violating the emergency management plan, according to the complaint. He was also informed he was going to be charged with public intoxication.”

These cops beat a man to death because he was outside.

There are inconsistencies in the report and they fail to provide details about how he allegedly resisted arrest. Nevermind that nothing in this report - not a shelter-in-place violation, not drinking, not resisting arrest - justify multiple people ganging up on one person, breaking his neck, and failing to obtain medical care.

This man died because police are the institutionalization of prejudice and brutality, and this country requires you have papers to be treated like a human and insurance to live.

They didn’t even take him to the hospital in an ambulance.

I never thought I’d be asking something like this, but I desperately need some help!

My cat stopped drinking water yesterday and even though he sits by his water bowl and dips his paws in the water, he can’t drink for some reason. Even though he tried multiple times, he just can’t. He also started drooling and he never drools, he seems tired and today he refused to eat.

Please, I am begging you to donate any amount you can so I could take him to the vet. I’m currently unemployed because I lost my job due to corona ,and to make things even worse, someone in my neighborhood poisoned my other cat two months ago. I couldn’t afford to take him to a vet and he passed away after a few hours

UPDATE

First of all, I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated. You guys have my eternal gratitude. Thank you from the bottom of my heart❤

My cat has started eating again normally and the vet told me to give him water with a small syringe every hour, and that’s what I’ve been doing since yesterday. Thankfully, he’s drinking water again which is a huge relief.

His behavior is mostly normal, he just seems a bit tired. He eats all his food and yesterday he napped through the day which is normal for him.

On Monday I’ll see the vet again to decide what’s next. The vet was very surprised that he’s eating well again and said that’s very good. My cat also developed a cough recently and the vet said his excessive drooling could be linked to the cough. So I’d really like to take care of that next.

I will keep you guys updated as soon as I have news. Once again, thank you so much for donating, you guys made it possible for my cat to get professional help.

Update #2

I’m very happy to say that thanks to the vet’s help my cat is recovering very well! He’s started eating three times a day and drinking water on his own, without my help. He’ll have a check up appointment later this week, but I can see that he’s making small but sure steps to being his old self again. And that would be absolutely impossible without the wonderful people who donated us money to see the vet!

So, once again, I want to say a huge thank you to all of them for their kindness and support 💕💞💕 you are literally lifesavers!! 🙌💞🙏

Sometimes I see posts with medieval art and somebody demanding to know what was going on during the middle ages. I therefore present to you a list:

In 897, Pope Stephen VI had his predecessor's body dug up and tried for heresy. The corpse was found guilty and thrown in the Tiber.

In 1122 or thereabouts, Heloise de Argenteuil named her son Astrolabe.

In 1141, Empress Matilda was besieged in a castle by her cousin Steve, and escaped by pretending to be dead and getting carted out with the corpses.

In 1314 King Edward II made soccer illegal. This was the same King Edward II whose wife Isabella had him killed by shoving a fireplace poker up his ass.

In 1325 some guys from Modena, Italy, stole the bucket from the well in neighbouring Bologna. The two cities fought a battle over it. Modena won, and still has the bucket on display in a museum.

In 1355 students at Oxford rioted because a pub served them sub-par beer.

In 1374 France and Belgium suffered an outbreak of 'dancing plague'. The affected would dance until they died of heart attacks.

In 1379 a guy named Perrinot Muet was trampled to death by pigs. The pigs were tried for murder, found guilty, and hanged.

Between 1410 and 1419, there were three different guys in different parts of Europe all claiming to be Pope. They each excommunicated the other two and all their adherents.

In 1456, Pope Callixtus the Third excommunicated Halley's Comet.

In conclusion, a lot went on during the middle ages.

The so-called “Dalmatic of Charlemagne”. Eleventh century. Gift of the Patriarch of Constantinople, Isidore of Kiev (1439) to Pope Eugene IV (1431-1447)

The only medieval liturgical vestment kept in the Treasury of St Peter’s is this dalmatic. It is a masterpiece of the art of embroidery practiced in Constantinople during the eleventh century. It is not known how the legend grew that it was worn by Charlemagne for his coronation as Emperor in 800 AD. It is made entirely in embroidery with gold, silver and colored thread on blue silk with scenes from the Byzantine iconography of the ninth and tenth centuries.
