The thing is that Miyamoto is actually a surname! it’s likely that Miyamoto isn’t actually this character’s first name, but her last. It’s common in Japan for people to refer to each other by their last names (which is why she’s referred to as such by Sakaki and Madame Boss)

i believe it was also referenced at some point in an obscure pokemon novel that Musashi uses Miyamoto as her last name
