Send me a "Û" to see the pros and cons of our muses being in a relationship together
If there was any comfort to be found , when it came to starting life anew. It would be the many family faces. Among them his Lord , and his adored sister. The former he had heard , a good deal about. She had bested an opponent likely none ever thought she would. He approached with a brisk stride. His entire being radiating warmth. That typical grin , cheerful voice , and an enthusiastic wave. "LADY SAKURA , Congratulations on your victories!~" Volume control , was not his strong suit.
Sakura had well and truly thought that when the battlebetween houses had started, that sheâd be able to get out quickly and make herway to the medical tent for a bit of recovering and a lot of helping otherstudents. Yet she found herself stuck in the Battle of the Eagle and Lion untilthe very end. Sheâd even managed to win all her battles â though one was on atechnicality, for sure. The first two fights had been awful â the second the worst of all â and nowthat the third had ended, so too did the pleasant feeling that came along withfacing someone like Sharena. It was like all at once, the seeds of guilt thathad been planted sprouted, flourishing amidst all her other traumas. Sheâd hurt Petra so severelyâhonestly, more severely than sheâd even thoughtherself capable of.Because of her desire to honor the huntress and a teeny need to make herbrother proud by defeating the man that defeated him, sheâd gone overboard withmagic that she had no business using and risked burning down the whole fieldand the students with it.Caspar had let her know how badly sheâd mucked that upâcould have even ended uphurting people who werenât even involved in the battle. H-how was she supposedto have known that it was a major growing field for the Empire?! âŠNoâŠeven if itwasnât, there was no excuse for getting so out of handâŠH-how was she supposed to look anyone from the Black Eagles in the eye aftersheâd been so reckless--The voice shouting her name snapped her out of her thoughts, though given thestate of mess she was in â the mud, the leaves, the branches, theâŠ.blood â she wasactually surprised anyone would have noticed her at all. But someone callingher Lady SakuraâŠShe didnât really need to question it, as the swordsman madehimself very known to her almost immediately.âHâŠ.Hinata? YâŠYouâre here???â She should have been happy to see him, but therewas stress underlying her expression. How had he found out about her fightsalready??? H-he must have thought she was awfulâŠ.
(Glass HP 1|Attack roll: 13 - critical if it lands.) This is a mock battle. But the injuries and exhaustion Sakura feels as she encounters another opponent are very real. Maybe sheâs sheltered so sheâs not used to how these things are meant to go, but sheâs not happy to still be in it. Resting her staff against her shoulder, she lifts and lines up her shot with a training bowâhaving replaced the tip with a thickly padded end for safety. Itâllstillsmartifitnailssomeonethough. P l i n g.
The battle is coming to a close.
Sharena stayed longer than she intended to in the medical tentâdespite not knowing these versions of her Heroes, she still wanted to know they were all rightâand by the time she leaves the tent and walks onto Gronder field, charred and burned from several fires, round three has begun.
Training lance in hand, she huffs. She expected some kind of fight immediately, but it seems everyone is occupied. She turns, and just in time, to see an arrow whizzing towards her.
Sharena rolls to dodge. 19. Success!
She side steps, almost casually, and looks in the direction it came from. It takes all her willpower to not cry out in joy and excitement when she sees Sakura wielding a bow. (Kiran has spoken so fondly of how lovely she looked in Queen Mikotoâs outfit, wielding a yumi just as she had.) But she manages, hand goes to cover her mouth before she can squeal, while she reminds herself repeatedly that this Sakura doesnât know her.
After a deep breath, she trots over to Sakura, hair flowing and bouncing behind her with every step she takes, and says, âHey, Sakura! You almost had me there!â She pauses when she stops in front of her, lips pulled into a cheerful smile. âLetâs do our best!â
Sharena rolls to attack. 6. Predicted damage: 1
She takes half a step back and then sweeps the lance in an arc at Sakuraâs legs. She wants to throw the healer off balance. Maybe then they could end the fight quickly.
fenrenaâ:
Something catches her attention. Itâs the slight spark of excitement in Sakuraâs eyes. Lips purse together before she smiles. Sakuraâs having fun, so should she! Andâ
Sharena rolls to dodge. 6. Failure. .5 HP remains.
âYeow!â She yelps as staff pieces whap her shoulders, but it doesnât deter her. Smile remains when she lets out a hearty laugh. âGood one, Sakura! First hit!â
She giggles, and staff spins. âMy turn,â she sing-songs.
Sharena rolls to attack. 3. Predicted damage: 1
The end of her lance goes to jab Sakura in the stomach.
Rather than the guilt sheâd normally feel after landing a hit, Sharenaâs reactionâŠearns a smile from Sakura in turn. Shy but certainly sincere. Every time sheâs seen her siblings training, theyâve always looked soâŠgrim. Serious and sometimes scary. Sheâd need to ask Sharena how she could keep such a bright demeanor even when practicing for war. Maybe Sakura had been coloring all of these battles with the filter of her memories, rather than seeing them for what they really were?Â
Dodge roll: 7 â Success (barely). HP left: 1.
Sheâs saved from that jab by, unlikely enough, a bit of the mud that the lancer had shaken off earlierâSakuraâs foot lands and slips out from under her, sending her onto her behind as the lance-turned-staff wooshes over her head. Laughing at her own clumsiness, Sakura is still attentive enough to understand that Sharena will be ready to strike again before sheâll be able to get back onto her feet.
Attack roll: 4 â normal damage.
Which is why she attempts to hook her foot at the blondeâs ankle and pull her off balance enough to have her join the rosette in the mud.

Sheâs broke a staff several other times? Wowza! Maybe if she kept a close eye on the other Sakuras, sheâd also see them break their staffs. Actually, maybe thatâs not a good idea. Kiran would be upset if he kept having to buy her expensive staves. (But maybe just once was okay.)
Sharena rolls to dodge. 15. Success! 2 HP remaining.
âNot at all,â she chirps, side stepping away from the dodge. Staff swings out and towards the back of her legs. Third timeâfourth time?âis the charm!
Sharena rolls to attack. 1. Predicted damage: 1
Sheâs glad that things seem to have settled down again. WellâŠas much as a match like this can settle down. No more hurt feelings, at least! She does want to be friends with Sharena after this whole battle is over, after all. I-if she can help it, at least.
Dodge roll: 10 â Success. HP left: 1. Attack roll: 18 â critical if it lands.
Though she is quick to hop over that lance as it swings to sweep her off of her feet, she does make two simultaneous downward strikes at the blondeâs shoulders. Sheâd meant to boop her lightly on the head, but the descent from her hop throws her off a bit, clear by how her expression looks rather startled despite launching the attack herself.

Her own cheeks burn red as she realizes her mistake. Did Sharena really come into battle without shorts or leggings on under her skirt?? N-not that she could really judge or anything, but she guessed that someone as seemingly practiced in battle as her would have takenâŠprecautions. Then again, the probably didnât need to roll and hop around in panic like the rosette did. âI didnât mean for it to be likeââ
Dodge roll: 7 â Success (barely). HP Left: 1.
For the second time in this battle, Sakuraâs staff is broken in two. Not because she was mad but because it had absorbed the force of the otherâs strike, guiding it just far off the mark enough that the Golden Deer didnât have to get personal experience in how a broken rib felt.
Attack roll: 19 â critical if it lands.
Itâs an instinctual sort of reaction to the jarring sound of splintering wood, the burst of wind thatâs aimed straight at Sharenaâs middle in an effort to drive her back. Thereâs no intention to hurt herâjust to defend the rosette with what little she has.
Spear goes out, and she must have put more force behind it, because it shatters her staff in two. Her eyes go wide. She wants to stop. This didnât feel fun anymore. Especially whenâÂ
Sharena rolls to dodge. 18. Success! 2 HP remaining.
âSakura!â She yells, voice filled with panic for her friendâs well-being than she meant to show. (They werenât friends; not yet.)Â
Teeth grit together as gusts of wind push her. Her heels dig into the ground, and spear follows, the head of it pushed into the earth when she holds on. When the wind has died down, she says, âSakura, Iâm so sorry! I-I didnât mean to break it.âÂ
Sharenaâs head turns this way and that as she looks around. âUh, uh, uhhh⊠I got it!â A snap of her fingers as soon as the idea manifests in her head.Â
Spear is released. She removes her jacket, holds her breath, and rips the sleeves off. Ah, well, sheâll pay the school back somehow. Sharena rips the sleeves again, turning them into two strips of fabric. Then she wraps one around the head of her spearâmud is natureâs glueâand the other around the butt of itâwith the application of more mud, of course.Â
She holds part of it up, satisfied. âThere! Now itâs⊠even safer!â As much as it could be at least. âSee?â She gently swings the head of her spear-turned-staff at Sakuraâs hand.
Sharena rolls to attack. 12. Critical! Predicted damage: 1.5
âA-ah y-youâŠâ Sakura tried to get the blondeâs attention before she went to such an extent, but she couldnât help the soft smile that appeared on her lips when she saw how far she was willing to go to keep this match safe. Still, she needed to let her know that it wasnât that big of a deal. N-not really anyhow.
Dodge roll: 11 â Success. HP left: 1.
But first, she had to hop back and out of the way to avoid getting booped on the hand. Even wrapped, that angle would have probably smarted quite a bit. âD-donât worry about it too much. I t-think that training staffs are just a little flimsy.â She pivoted the two pieces and wiggled them a bit. âI b-broke one of these d-during the first round without a-anyone even hitting it.â Though she did intend to hit Sharena with them, lightly.
Attack roll: 16 â critical if it lands.
One strike high, towards the lancerâs shoulder, and the other lower, aimed for her solar plexus. No savagery but certainly an accuracy that would make Hinoka proud. A sparring match at heartâone that she hoped Sharena might still find some joy in!
Eyes widen when Sakura divulges the sweet, sweet backstory on her first broken staffâoh, yeah, she got an eyeful of that in the medical tent, made her wonder what in sweet Zenith caused that?
Sharena rolls to dodge. 13. Success! 2 HP remaining.
She barely noticed the attack; attention stays on Sakura and the conversation topic as she twirls her lance and knocks the pieces of staffs away.
"You wha-what-what? You broke your staff? By yourself? Your strength? You?â She comments quite exasperatedly yet excitedly. Rarely did a Sakura in the Order have the strength to go against an armored unit let alone break weaponry.
Sharena rolls to attack. 16. Critical! Predicted damage: 1.5
She then extends and swings her lance in a semi-circle, aiming for Sakuraâs side.
âY-yeahâitâs k-kind of embarrassing but itâs not umâŠn-not the first time?â There were actually several instances where Sakura had broken her staff â usually when she was mad, which made the fact she kept it in one piece during her battle against Linhardt all the more shocking â b-but she didnât really want to divulge the embarrassing details to Sharena. Not when sheâd just met her!
Dodge roll: 17 â Success. HP left: 1.
Itâs a quick motion that she makes, almost like the twirl of a dancer as she guides that strike up and over her head--
Attack roll: 2 â normal damage.
--So that she can make an attempt to get close enough to swipe at the blondeâs sides. She has lost about half her range, after all! âS-so donât worry about breaking the staff! I-if I can break it, a gentle breeze c-could probably break it too!â

meek-mikoâ:
âWhoaâŠâ Itâs an impressive move and she canât hide that sheâs taken a bit off guard by the dodge. Itâs cool and she wonders if Hinoka or Subaki know how to do that. Any thoughts are interrupted when she sees the incoming attackâfrom her own staff!
Dodge roll: 11 â Success. HP Left: 1. Attack roll: 16 â critical if it lands.
Hopping back, she mentally panics over the fact that sheâs stuck in a vulnerable position. Again. Man, she was really bad at this. She looses a few arrows from her quiverâthere isnât enough time or room for her to use her bow, but using the still rushing gale, she uses the force to launch the practice arrows towards the lancer.
Sakura dodges again. Nimble. Perhaps sheâd give her other versions a run for their money.
Sharena rolls to dodge. 20. Success! 2 HP remaining.
Time slows down. Her body moves. Wielding both the staff and lance, she rushes forward, and as if sheâs done it before, she blocks the arrows, using pole-arm and staff to knock each arrow to the side or to the ground. She spins this way and that, expertly keeping staff and spear in motion. Stop for a second, and sheâs sure Sakura would get too far away for her to catch up. When sheâs closer, she hands Sakura her staff, then twirls once more.
Sharena rolls to attack. 3. Predicted damage: 1
And when she faces Sakura again, she raises the butt of her spear again to boink Sakura on the head.
Whaaaaat the heck!! That was so cool! How was she not supposed to be awestruck by that kind of display?? The threat of head trauma certainly helped.
Dodge roll: 7 â Success (barely). HP Left: 1.
Sheâs all the more confused when sheâs offered back her staff, fingers closing around it and brain trying to process the odd turn of events this fight has taken. Sakura almost misses when Sharena winds up to knock her on the head and she practically throws herself onto the ground and rolls onto her feet just to avoid it. No more getting starstruck, Sakura!! Though, at the very least, she couldnât get any dirtier than she already was after two previous battles.Â
Attack roll: 1 â normal damage.
Itâs mostly accidental and a result of her sudden attempt to dodgeâSakura ends up losing a boot that arcs up into the sky towards the lancer. And itâs coupled with her embarrassed laughter over such a bad display. But who couldnât laugh at something so silly happening?
Sakura is still, in place; nowâs her chance, but the opportunity passes her by when she dives for the ground, and spear completes a beautiful half circle before she stops it.
Itâd just be a tap on the head!
Sharena rolls to dodge. 19. Success! 2 HP remaining.
Boot comes flying, and Sharena reacts. Hand reaches out, body shifts, and boot falls in her hand. âGot it!â she shouts with a smile, only for her face to contort in disgust. âAw no! My handâs all muddy.â She hands Sakura her boot, then takes a half step back to shake her hand out to the side.
Sharena rolls to attack? 4? Success? Predicted damage: 1
Mud splatters! Hopefully, Sakura wasnât in the splash zone.
Dodge roll: 9 â Success. HP Left: 1.
Thankfully, Sakuraâs feverish hopping trying to get her boot back on before continuing the fight sees her out of the way of all that flying mud. But at the same time, would she have even noticed? Sheâs practically some kind of mud beast at this point. Sheâll probably need several baths to get her hair back to its natural color. She does offer Sharena a handkerchief from the inside of Takumiâs jacket though â one that has been shockingly spared of the mess thatâs overcome the rest of Hoshidanâs youngest. Retreating back a few steps, she waits for her opponent to be ready before casting again. Itâs wind, so itâs fine, right? Caspar canât possibly yell at her about magic if she keeps to wind like Linhardt had been attempting to doâŠ..r-right? Guess sheâd find out.
Attack roll: 17 â critical if it lands.
The gusts come from behind and beneath Sharena, intent to throw her off balance if she isnât chucked a short distance into the air entirely. But not too high. Sakura isnât trying to make a repeat of earlierâs match.
Sharena rolls to dodge. 19. Success! 2 HP remaining.
Wind blows from behind and beneath her, and skirt flutters up. Sharena uses one hand to push the fabric down, while she jogs slightly away, towards Sakura when she squeals. Her cheeks turn red.
âSakura! Low blow!â

As she says those words, lance goes out to whack Sakura in the side.

Maybe then they could end the fight quickly.
meek-mikoâ:
âWhoaâŠâ Itâs an impressive move and she canât hide that sheâs taken a bit off guard by the dodge.
And she immediately lets go of her staff and drops to duck that swat. Itâs not like when sheâs facing Petra and sure the huntress was about to break her collarbones. But a smack to the head is a smack to the head and she doesnât wanna go through that. Though she also isnât filled with panic or anger over the attack like when sheâd been fighting Linhardt. She said she wouldnât use magic, but Sharena has her staff and sheâs too close for her to even make an attempt to draw her bow â sheâd need to ask Takumi for advice on close quartering with a bow later. So itâs a small gust that attempts to tangle up her opponentâs feet and send her sprawling.
The giggle that comes from the loving priestess is uplifting. Thatâs the sound she should be making. Everyone was taking this mock battle too seriously, herself included, and it was time for everyone to relax, take a step back⊠and have fun!
Sharena rolls to dodge. 13. Success! 2 HP remaining.
Sharena is quick to act. Now that she knows Sakura has wind magic, she knows what to expect. Spear pushes into the ground, and with one arm, she pushes herself off the ground, above the wind, and out, away from Sakura. As soon as the balls of her feet touch earth, she is quick to act.

Sakura said that she wasnât going to use magic. She had really meant that when sheâd left the medical tent. But itâs almost instinctive â which is funny since sheâs a novice at best. It worked! Kind of. Pole-arm hits the back of Sakuraâs legs, and she heads towards the ground. Victory is in reach, so she thinks, until nothing pushes her up to her feet again. Sakura hooks her training bow round Sharenâs wrist as she makes the strike, directing it away from where it would have definitely sent her straight back to the medical tent. Despite how nervous Sakura sounds, she brings up an idea. It brings a smile to her lips. Wrist is hooked between string and bow, and she is pushed away from her intended target. âGood one, Sakura! Way to be smart about this.â

Sheâs so nice and Sakura canât help but think about that fact and her desire to get to know this person after the battle has ended. Itâs a little odd to her how it seems the lancer is almost familiar with her, but her good nature and kindness even as they fight for their houses isâŠendearing, to say the least. âUmâ! Dodge roll: 12 â Success. HP left: 1.
Sakura drops low enough to duck the swing thatâs made at her head, before beating a quick retreat to get some space between them. But sheâs left something there â close enough for Sharena to reach it but far enough that she wonât rush forward and inadvertently punt it skyward. Itâs a cannister whose top is securely sealed with a makeshift lid. She would have eaten it back in the medical tent, but she was sort of rushed out to make sure she was on the field before her next match. Pumpkin soup. âI kn-know now isnât the best time, but if youâre hungryâŠâ It wouldnât take long she was sure. Though Sakura did keep her bow down and the arrow notched while she waited to see what Sharena would do. Once a decision had been made and the blonde had had time to prepare herself again, only then did she loose the padded arrow, aiming for the otherâs middleâhoping to either catch her in the chest if she approached or in her knee if she retreated.
Attack roll: 17 â critical if it lands.
Surprises are abound in this battle, it seems. Sakura never fails to surprise herâpsh, and here this Takumi was wallowing when he, too, probably had several tricks up his sleeve. Sheâll have to talk to him later.
Sharena stops, arm falling limp at her side, when Sakura scutters back, away from her, leaving a canister in her place. Smile turns upside down. Kiran mentioned something like this from where heâs from. Frown quickly turns nonchalant.Â
Be rational, she thinks.Â
âSharena, donât let your guard down.â Ah, she can already hear Alfonseâs voice. Maybe her consciousness has manifested into her brother now.Â
She crouches down. A quick sniff tells her that itâs soup. Smile returns, and her eyes close. âMmmm! Pumpkin! Havenât had this in a while. Oh, but pumpkinâs in season, right?â When she stands, she plucks the canister up and sets it behind her. âThank you, Sakura,â she says, gaze sweeping back to the healer. âBut, I think itâd taste better if we ate it together. Food always taste better with others.â She takes a step forward, and â

She dodges. Her next step twists behind her other leg just as arrow flies past her stomach. Eyes follow it, and then return to her. Vicious. No, determined. At least she gave time for her to get check out that soup. Her smile softens, yet her eyes narrow. She didnât want to injure her like Edelgard, but if she wanted a fight then Sharena wouldnât back down.
Sharena rolls to attack. 1. Predicted damage: 1

Sharena takes a powerful lunge forward. Her lance-arm goes back, the butt of the spear pointed at Sakura. A jab to the stomach. One hit. One hit is all she needs!

Sakura, skids to a stop right before the swing comes down, and she feels her heart clench for a second as she sees the lance cut through the air where she would have been if sheâd kept going. But itâs only for a second as she aims a swing of her staff towards Sharenaâs middle.
Attack roll: 4 â normal damage.
She doesnât dislike Sharena, for what little she knows of her. And she can definitely sympathize with wanting to get this over with. Maybe thatâs why there isnât the same sense of desperation and â well, anger â in how she fights her compared to her last battle. But she doesnât exactly want to lose either. Even if she looks like an idiot trying to use a staff like a lance against an actual lance user. If sheâs going to get knocked out of this mock battle, she wants it to be because she couldnât fight anymore!
Uh oh! Looks like she missed. She lets out a soft âoooâ, eyes wide. Sakuraâs never trained with her like this! And this Sakura is much faster than the othersâalthough Sakura the Gentle Nekomataâs speed is nothing to sneeze at. Even Kiran was impressed with how nimble she was on the battlefield!

But just because theyâve never sparred before, doesnât mean sheâll give in. Training lance is brought up to block the staffâwood meets wood, making a clacking sound. âHey, not bad! Thatâs a lance move, right? Incorporating it even without using a spear is a great idea,â Sharena chirps.
Sharena rolls to attack. 2. Predicted damage: 1
Training lance twirls, pushing the staff away from her torso in a graceful arc, aiming for Sakuraâs head. A swift and semi-gentle knock on the head should do it! Itâs a mock battle, not a real one. (A late reminder, but one nonetheless.)
Sheâs so nice and Sakura canât help but think about that fact and her desire to get to know this person after the battle has ended. Itâs a little odd to her how it seems the lancer is almost familiar with her, but her good nature and kindness even as they fight for their houses isâŠendearing, to say the least. âUm--! N-not to distract you b-butââ
What? SheâsâŠso jovial about that greeting. Sakura canât help but feeling a little silly that sheâd immediately and instinctively defaulted into a guarded stance with her bow. Sheâs friendlier than even her big brother was when she dropped by the med tent. This is sort of what sheâd expected the mock battle to be like and she feels a little bit of her tensions easeâjust a teensy bit. Itâs still the end of the battle and sheâs come this far, she canât just give up now. Well she can, but sheâs trying not to. âR-rightâŠyouâŠyou tooâŠâ Bowing her head, she takes a step back as well, and just as sheâs hooked her bow over her shoulder, she has to scramble to avoid that sweep.Â
Dodge roll: 9 â Success. HP Left: 1.
Thereâs a game she played a few times in her childhood, that involved hopping over a pair of wooden sticks as they clacks around at your feet. And if you donât hop in time, youâd be in for a nasty bruise. She knows that throbbing soreness and her body hops before she even realizes it.
Attack roll: 3 â normal damage.
And as if to discourage Sharena from taking advantage of her being off of her feet, she swings her staff at the blondeâs shoulder. Itâs more of a defensive thing, clear by how the rosette returns to a defensive stance once her feet have found purchase on the ground again.
Sakura bows, and sheâs reminded of home. Of the other Hoshidan siblings and how well they get along together. (That bath house they fought in was splendid; she made sure Askrâs own and new hot springs were based off it!)
Smile widens, even as Sakura hops over her lance without much effort. Sheâs never fought with Sakura like this! Who knew sheâd use her staff for melee attacks?
Sharena rolls to dodge. 19. Success! HP remaining: 2
Sharena rolls to attack. 10. Critical! Predicted damage: 1.5
She brings her lance back up in a fluid movement, knocks the staff awayâpushes it, rather, as she steps around Sakuraâand brings her lance back down again. The first time tripping her didnât work, but maybe this would!
Sheâs not a warrior and she canât even pretend sheâs close â especially when sheâs using a staff like itâs a lance â but she knows what Hinoka and Subaki have taught her.
Dodge roll: 7 â Success (barely). HP left: 1
Which is just enough to tell her to block. It would have told her to dodge but sheâs just gotten back onto her feet and sheâd probably severely roll an ankle if she tied any sudden motions. Sheâs just scarcely able to raise her staff up in time to intercept that strike â but the force of it sends shockwaves down her arms and her right gave under the attack. But sheâd bought herself just enough time to drop and roll out of the way.
Attack roll: 7 â critical if it lands.
She swipes her staff towards Sharenaâs knees as she bolts to try to gain some room between them. She isnât hoping for enough room to use her bow, but if she can get some breathing space where she doesnât have to worry about getting nailed in the head by a lance, sheâll be happy.
âWhoa!â Sharena shouts when her strike is blocked. Sakura really has improved! Maybe this Sakura some how had more fighting experience than the others in the Order of Heroes.
Sharena rolled to dodge. 13. Success! HP remaining: 2
She laughs when she hops over the staff, lifting the lance with her as she moves. âImpressive!â she comments as she keeps up with Sakura. âAlthough, Iâm gonna have to ask that weâ
Sharena rolled to attack. 5. Predicted damage: 1
The princess twirls her lance and whacks the top of Sakuraâs hand, the one holding the staff. "End this! Iâm feeling a bit peckish.â
Dodge roll: 20 â Success. HP left: 1.
