favorite personal headcanons: i don't know if it's personal as much as a mix of canon and my own sprinklings, but kale was always acutely aware of the power she held. like, she knew damn well she was a beast. it just didn't serve to show off or shove that fact in anyone's face.

kale would've been maybe more offended or offput if she had been in any differing company. but this was vegeta. him and friendly visits were quite foreign. . .

you just love bringing that back up to annoy me.

--- kale pauses, taken off guard by the sudden clipped tone of voice. the conversation, though minimal, had been mostly pleasant. broly made strides to hide any semblance of care or curiosity surrounding her absence behind his usual apathetic exterior - though seepages of what could be considered more saccharine feelings were not lost on her.

he had been probing about her training. her STRENGTH. had she truly become stronger, or had she reverted to her peaceable and mawkish ways in her time apart from him?

she gave the question some thought before tersely reminding him of their last spar before her abrupt departure - one that he could be - and, to her, was - considered on the losing end of. kale wouldn't hazard half a thought that dared to shirk him of his credit for his assistance in her gains of strength and discipline, yet the mere mention of the proposed loss had him on edge.

kale eyed him in her peripheral, shifting her posture to something more closed off, furrowing her brow as he pointedly avoided her gaze. her lips purse, small feelings of remorse bubble in her gut. she shakes it off, favoring taking her time to respond instead of puttering out some weak attempt at placation.

" maybe. "

the word falls from her lips easily. she sits up, adjusting her position once more to face him and resting her hands in her lap. a smile tugs at the corners of her mouth and she allows them to raise; radiant and genuine, as she usually felt with him. some things don't change.

" we could always have a rematch... " she drawls, head lolling to the side to get a slightly better view of his rueful expression. " that would prove it to you, wouldn't it? "

the rhetorical question hangs in the air, her tone too light for what she was proposing. in an instant, she's on her feet, dusting off her clothing.

" away from here, though. " kale says, momentarily stopping her derision to gesture the village they overlooked. she frowned, sighing through her nose. " so no one gets hurt. "

BROTHER. thankfully, i don't see it often now since doing the revamp, but... those stupid fuckin' "hot takes" that were literally just people bitching and objectively wrong. mostly revolving around shipping. like, HOT TAKE I DONT LIKE POPULAR SHIP XYZ BECAUSE ABC when examples A, B, and C are just poor qualities projected by the poster onto whatever poor character.

there is nothing wrong with disliking / hating popular/canon ships. there's quite a few i don't like myself. to each his own as long as no one's getting hurt and it isn't illegal. you become wrong when your opinion is suddenly the ONLY opinion and you're attacking people for disagreeing and purposefully mischaracterizing things because you're self shippy, judgey, and JEALOUS.

six's bare feet padded the cold, barren streets of this forsaken city in search of nothing in particular. something that twinkles, that catches the gleam of her obscured eyes, would do nicely. she found just the thing down an alleyway, the decorative metal catching the dim glow of the moon just right. it called to her, and so she came.

a shattered hand mirror among the assemblages of trash, grossly distorting her visage between the cracks in the glass.

her deft fingers glide across the grooves of its design, taking a diverted moment to marvel at it's design. it felt familiar - in a far-off way.

have i seen this somewhere before? she muses.

six's eyes lazily look up towards the voice, finding a child about her height, beckoning her forward.

" follow me. "

without waiting for even a reaction, they turn, gallivanting away and expecting her to follow.

more gently than intended, she sets the piece of garbage aside with the rest, pulling down the front of her raincoat to better obscure her face.

follow she did. no point in stopping to address the negative, looming feeling in her gut nor what it portends.

after all, she had nowhere to be.
