heeeeeey everyone

i figured i should make an announcement on here, considering how i just kinda... up and vanished a while ago.

so i graduted from college! that was nifty. and hella stressful. that was the main reason i took a step back from this blog--i realized that it was distracting me too much from my work, so i needed to not come around as often as i was. and it worked, clearly.

unfortunately, i’ve had no desire to come back since then. i think my time with jessie and tiffany has run its course. after all, i’ve played them for almost a year now. that’s a damn long time! it’s time to let sleeping dogs lie, so to speak.

i’ve made a new rp blog, but it’s going to be entirely different. a different game, a different genre, etc. if you want the url, you can ask--but i may not give it to you. no offense intended or anything! i just want to start over completely from what i’ve been doing here.

They were right, this food was very good. “And your mother and I make each other very happy, but I know for a fact that you make her even happier. He knew that he and Jessie loved each other very much, but he also knew Jessie loved her daughter more than anything else in the world.

Both women seemed to be embarrassed by that. “Stop it,” she said quietly, reaching out and placing a hand on his arm gently. Tiffany shook her head and started shoveling food into her mouth, completely ignoring the compliments. Jessie took a moment to let it sit, then brought up something new. “So! Tiffany, you have a cheer rally next weekend, right? I was thinking that Jayce and I could go.” She shot Jayce a look out of the corner of her eye, and added quietly, “I asked you to keep it open a few weeks ago.”

Tiffany was openly staring at her mother, confusion in her eyes. “Mom, you’ve... never gone to one of my rallies before.”

“There’s a first time for everything,” Jessie replied easily, finally turning to her own food.

“Yes, I know what she does for work. I’m perfectly okay with it. It’s a job, and one she enjoys doing,” he said, giving Jessie a soft smile. “Me? I own a technology company that I started myself when I wasn’t much older than you are now. Being able to share the lifestyle that wealth affords me with your mother has been one of the best parts of having it at all.”

“I don’t need to know whether or not she’s enjoying it, either,” Tiffany grumbled, even though Jessie returned his smile. She liked it when he defended her. “So, wait, you’re rich?” And here he was, eating takeout at their tiny dinner table. All of her mother’s boyfriends up to this point had been of the same financial standings, so it was weird to encounter someone higher--and someone who had stuck around, no less.

“We met at a bar,” Jayce said without hesitation. “I saw your mother there and bought her a drink and we started talking,” he paused for a moment. Being truthful and forthright with her was important, but he wasn’t about to describe the rest of their evening in any amount of detail. “You’re a young woman, I’m sure you know what happened next,” he joked.

Tiffany’s nose wrinkled delicately, and she leaned back in her chair. “I don’t need to know anymore about my mother’s sex life than I already do, thanks,” she grumbled, stabbing at some sesame chicken. “I assume you know what she does for work, and you’re okay with it? What do you even do?”

Jayce just laughed and shook his head. “Good thing I love Chinese food,” he replied as Tiffany brought the boxes over to the table. It was a good selection with great variety. “Well, it certainly looks and smells good,” he added, beginning to fill his plate. “And head cheerleader, huh? Why am I not surprised by that?”

“Tiffany’s always aimed high,” Jessie said, pride in her voice. Tiffany, setting down the pitcher of water, ducked her head slightly and blushed. She scurried back to the kitchen to fetch another load of food. Jessie sat in her chair, a little smile on her lips. Jayce had certainly said the right thing.

The younger woman brought out a final trip and took her seat, starting to serve herself. “How did you guys meet?” she asked. While the question was aimed at both of them, her eyes were glued to Jayce, watching for any sign of weakness.

The two women shared a look, and Tiffany shook her head slightly. It was Jessie who replied. “Well, neither of us can really cook, so... I ordered Chinese food. It got here about ten minutes before you did.” She gestured back towards the kitchen where the takeout boxes sat and grinned. “I hope it’s delicious. It’s our favorite place.”

“I was wondering why you ordered from there tonight,” Tiffany mused, standing once more to start bring the boxes of food to the table. “She usually only does that when something big happens. Last time was when I got voted as head cheerleader.”

“You wanna… move this to my room?” Those words sent a chill down Mark’s spine. He would be entering Tiffany’s private space, seeing something that few likely ever got to see. It felt so… so intimate, just as a concept alone. He’d be gaining an insight into her private life, especially since she had likely not gotten to clean up all too much before he arrived. She was allowing him into her private life, to be part of something more.

Really, he had no choice in what to say.

“Y-yeah, sure,” Mark stammered, arms still wrapped tightly around Tiffany. Slowly, he retracted his arms, clambering up off of her. He seemed almost reluctant to separate himself from her, wishing they could preserve this moment just a bit longer, even if he knew that they’d be together like that once more quite soon.

“J-just, uh, lead the way,” Mark said, offering a nervous smile to Tiffany. He was anxious, of course, afraid of disappointing Tiffany, but now wasn’t the right time to tell her that. Mark knew she was experienced in quite a number of ways that he was not, and that he would in no way compare to her previous partners, but, hopefully, he would be able to bring an emotional aspect to it to supplement his lack of experience. Hopefully.

The moments which Mark took to think over her proposition were some of the scariest in Tiffany’s life. She was putting herself out there, and while she was fairly certain he wouldn’t turn her down, there was always the slight possibility. So when he finally agreed, she let out a deep breath that she hadn’t known she was holding in. That had felt like the last barrier between them and... potentially doing more. If they wanted to, or even got that far.

She watched him get up and returned his smile, trying to appear confident and gracious. Instead, she just felt as nervous as he looked, and a quiet giggle erupted out of her. God, they were such losers, weren’t they? Getting all flustered over a simple make out session.

She stood as well and made her way around the living room, quickly picking up their discarded clothing before grabbing Mark’s hand and tugging him toward her room. She didn’t want her mother coming home and finding the clothing everywhere; she might suspect exactly what was going on, and Tiff would prefer to keep her sex life private.

The door closed behind them, and she looked at Mark briefly before turning her head away. Her room wasn’t messy--it never was--but it certainly wasn’t as neat as she would’ve liked it. Unceremoniously, she dumped the clothing in a pile and pressed her lips together. Quietly, she asked, “bed?” and gestured towards the sheets.

At Tiffany’s comment, Jayce simply chuckled. He had never seen Jessie so nervous, so he took hold of her hands and squeezed them lovingly. “Hey, don’t worry. I’m pretty sure worrying too much gives wrinkles,” he teased playfully. “As long as she sees that I love you as much as I truly do, and that I want nothing but the best for you, I’m sure we’ll be fine.”

“I don’t need another reminder that I’m getting old,” Jessie replied, a scowl on her full lips. “I’m introducing you to my fully-grown daughter. I already feel like a matron.” She sighed and squeezed his hands back, before taking in a deep breath. She seemed to collect herself, back straightening slightly before leading Jayce over to their tiny dining room table. Tiffany was setting it, putting out their best dishes--which, admittedly, weren’t very good.

“Tiffany, you left before I could properly introduce you two. This is Jayce, my boyfriend, and I would really appreciate it if you demonstrated some of the grace I know you possess.”

Tiffany turned her blue gaze, so much like her mother’s, onto Jayce and inspected him for a few moments before shrugging. “Nice to meet you, Jayce,” she responded evenly, taking her seat at the table.

Jayce had shown up exactly on time. After all, he wanted to make a good impression. He’d never been serious enough with someone who already had a kid to actually meet them. When Jessie opened the door, most of his nervousness went away. It was rare he was very nervous at all these days, but seeing her daughter in the room had just that effect. “Hey, you,” he replied, pulling her in and giving her a quick peck on the lips. 

“You must be Tiffany. I’ve heard a lot of great things about you,” he greeted the young woman with a smile. She was a spitting image of Jessie, only younger. It was a little bizarre to see in person.

Tiffany stared at the man who walked through the door with narrowed eyes. He was attractive, yes, but her current job was to see past the attractive facade and judge his character. “How old is he, anyway?” she asked out of the blue, unfolding her legs from the couch and standing. “If he’s less than ten years older than me, that’s creepy.”

“Tiffany, don’t talk about him like he isn’t here. That’s rude,” Jessie replied nervously as her daughter flounced off to set the dinner table. Once she was out of hearing range, Jessie turned to Jayce, nervously smoothing her hands over his shirt. “I’m sorry about her. It’s just... it’s been ages since I brought someone home. She’s not used to it, you know? She’ll warm up to you, I’m sure.”

Jessie spent all day cleaning the apartment. Tiffany took notice, of course; cleaning was something her mother never did, not even when important guests came over. The young woman perched on the couch as her mother vacuumed, of all things, around her, until she finally spoke up.

“Mom? What’s gotten you into such a cleaning frenzy?”

Jessie froze in her cleaning, holding a bottle of cleaning solution in one hand and some paper towels in the other. Nervously, she rubbed at some dust until it came off, then spoke. “You know the boyfriend I’ve been telling you about, the one I’ve been seeing for a while now?”

“Mm... Yeah?”

“Well, he’s coming over tonight.”

“What? Mom, why didn’t you tell me sooner? I would’ve put on something nicer--”

“Too late, he’s here now!” Jessie called as there was a knock on the door. She dropped the cleaning supplies on a nearby shelf and went to the door, pausing to make sure her hair and jewelry was in order before opening it. “Hey, handsome,” she said softly, opening the door to reveal a (mostly) clean apartment.
