As you rounded the corner of the hallway while carrying the tray, your ears couldn't help but capture a mere conversation echoing within a distance away from Tanjiro's temporary recovery room.
βNezuko, I think β¦ I'm dying.βΒ
You halted your movements. You dropped the tray before bolting straight into the room.
The prepared medicine splattered all over the wooden floors and the contact the tray had made with the hard surface below caused a loud noise.
γKNYγ
I just wanted to draw a contrasting concept π³
Lately, Iβve been listening to Demon Slayerβs soundtrack,
and I noticed that the music for Rengoku holding back Akaza and for Tengenβs standoff with Gyutaro share a similar rhythmic structure.
It really highlights the sense of urgency and the feeling that a third party is needed to break the deadlock.
In both cases, Tanjiro happens to be nearby, about to join the fight.
Iβm not sure if Go Shiina did this intentionally, but I definitely picked up on that sense of contrast π
And in the Infinity Castle arc, Tanjiro also assists the Hashira in battle β another nice parallel.
After a battle of your own, you discover not only Tanjiro Kamado but also the Water Pillar in complete shambles.
Warnings: Manga Spoilers, Blood, gruesome depictions, descriptions, & slight angst.

You were running, moving as quickly as your legs could take you. Through the hallways of countless traditional Japanese-style architecture, you made sure to be careful with each step.
With the click of your wooden shoes, you swiftly took a sharp right; but soon that would be a brief demonstration of your mistake in judgment.
Piercing through the air was a loud sound of a Biwa playing that gut-wrenching tune.
The tune that triggered change.
In a matter of seconds, you were falling again, falling past several sliding doors that had automatically opened.
βIt's no use, I lost sight of Tanjiro and the others.β
You managed to adjust your position in the air and propelled your feet to bounce off one of those twisted wooden walls to create a soft landing for yourself on one of those incoming platforms.
That's when you realized at the corner of your eye that you landed dead center in the middle of four distinctively different demonic creatures.
β¦ As if you didn't have enough to deal with as is.
The battle had begun approximately hours ago, and reality dawned with that announcement from a feathered-friend.
Upon being faced with one of the upper moons, news broke that the Insect Pillar had passed away during battle.
Now getting ready to face off four grueling demons all at once, your hands began trembling as you clutched the base of your katana. You were just a low rank demon slayer. You had no greater strengths as Hashira did.
Could you even survive on your own? You had no backup at all; which was the first time.
βMist Breathing, second form: Eight - Layered Mist!β
But there was no time to doubt yourself, because in a blink of an eye; all of those demons were beheaded in an instant.
βDon't slack off! Everyone is fighting their hardest and you're just standing there!β A voice uttered in annoyance.
This triggered you, in fact your anger quickly arose. It wasn't your fault that the demons you were about to obliterate were turned to dust before you could!
βI am t-trying!β You stuttered. βI'm doing my best. Who on earthββ
β[Name]? You're probably confused just as we are, this castle is interchangeable.β Then there was another voice.
Wait, how did they know your name?
Once you turned around, you were faced with none other than the Mist Pillar, as well as the Stone Pillar.
Muichiro Tokito, and Gyomei Himejima.
From anger, it turned into a small smile. You were relieved! Not only were you now safe, but you were now with two Hashiras!
βI apologize, I'll do better.β You straightened your posture because with all due respect you felt so honored to be in the presence of the noble.
With the flick of his katana to clean the cruelty from upon its blade, splattering blood on the wooden tiles below; Muichiro wasted no time in chucking it away.
βLet's be on the move.β Was all Gyomei said before bolting passed you both. You could only nod in approval before following him.
Truth be told it was a mystery how you managed to make it this far. With the encouragement of your parents you entered the Demon Slayer Corp to eradicate such disgusting demons.
It was not until you lost a close comrade in battle as well as your mentor that you realized this journey would not be easy.
Such a loss shook your core so badly, that you nearly tossed your carefully crafted katana into the deepest rivers you could ever find.
It was so disgraceful for you to even think of doing such a thing.
However, the one to pull you out of that poor mental state was none other than Tanjiro Kamado. He taught you that despite such grievances; you should continue to move forward because that's what the dead would have wanted you to do.
To push forward β¦ !
From that day you grew deeply fond of Tanjiro, always wanting to be by his side, until this event happened.
Leaping over a hand rail, you continued to tail behind Muichiro and Gyomei through the maze of a castle.
You briefly wondered where Tanjiro could be right now, and if he was safe.
βKeep your eyes peeled, you two! Kibutsuji is nearby!β Gyomei instructed with a booming voice. This was serious after all.
βRight!β You noted.
βOkay!β Muichiro agreed.
You wouldn't ever forgive Muzan for the losses he had made you suffer from, you and countless others.
Suddenly, you were slammed with a sliding door; the force was so hard that your nose trickled a small stream of blood.
You weren't the only one, as it seemed with every stroke of a Biwa's strings to form a tune, one of you was hit with a moving door.
But then suddenly, Muichiro was slammed with an entire moving wall. His body was crushed against its surface, and the Mist Pillar grunted in pain.
It all happened so fast.
βTokito!-β Gyomei called, but before he could utter anything else at all, Muichiro interrupted him.
βDon't worry about me! You two go on ahead!β He shouted back, before getting pushed straight through another wall.
You stopped in your tracks, but as you were attempting to turn around to hopefully help Muichiro you were also hit with an incoming wall, this time a smaller one.
β[Name]!β Called Gyomei again, but there was nothing even he could do right now.
Amidst all of this you were pushed through several walls which made you end up in open air and free falling once again.
Damn it. You were all separated.
However, you weren't alone. It seemed a demon with the mutation of wings was following close behind you; just when things couldn't get any worse for you.
Drawing out your Nichirin blade you needed to prepare yourself to kill this thing while you were in mid-air. Such a troublesome task.
βCome at me then!β You taunted the being, as it swooped in, closing in front of you.
Despite your best efforts, you swung your katana at the beast, but its speed allowed it to dodge your attack and kick you against one of the architecture walls.
Just when it was about to sink its abnormally huge teeth into your skin you sharply shoved your katana deep into its body.
Once it was lodged through the dark grayish flesh it had possessed, from the chest you dragged your blade upwards lifting it in a quick manner that the demon's body would be sliced in half.
But that wasn't enough.
After roaring out, its sharp nails pierced your torso, ripping apart your black Demon Slayer uniform and puncturing your abdominal muscles. After the sudden shock of a sharp blowing pain, you felt in your gut that several delicate organs had ruptured.
βUrngh! Its going to take a lot more than that to kill me!β You countered.
In the moments that followed, the demon retracted its claws, leaving open gashes along your abdominal region. You immediately adjusted the katana in your hands as soon as you were able. However, you were too slow; the creature was already delivering another strike with its meaty fist.
To that, you dodged by a close second, allowing the demon to instead penetrate a hole into the wall next to you.
βThat was close.β You muttered in temporary relief.
It snarled in anger, how could it let delicious food like you go to waste? That's when it kicked you in your jaw, knocking you down into free falling once more.
It really was a mystery how you made it this far. Unlike other exceptional Demon slayers they were able to master and adapt to a breathing style.
You on the other hand, were not able to despite training for years on end.
It was pathetic, really. You were so β¦ weak.
Why were you so weak?
Your eyes filled with tears, threatening to slip beyond your water line as you threw countless meager slashes at your opponent. The thought of it was infuriating, why couldn't you be as strong as the other Demon slayers?
You were getting closer to the ground now, and with a fall this high you were surely to die.
But then, in the middle of doubt, you thought of Tanjiro. During a time like this, you couldn't afford to die here, you needed to avenge your friends.
Gathering all of your focus, you concentrate on your breathing in that moment. Sucking in air, as the seconds ticked away and the distance between you and the ground were within reach.
Total Concentration Breathing.
There was no doubt that the demon above was preparing to forcefully sink its claws into you again. This time it was aimed at your chest, the place where the heart rests.
βFlame Breathing, first form: Unknowing Fire!β
Taking all of your energy and your soul you put your heart into this attack, which severed the demon's head swiftly with a burning effect.
It seemed all that training from your late mentor paid off.
βThank you Mr. Rengoku!β You shouted as the tears left your eyes. You quickly used the withering body in front of you to cushion your fall, however you still sustained critical injuries.
Upon hitting the ground on an angle, you shattered your shoulder blade in the process. The pain was excruciating, but you had to move on.
Spotting one of those crows circulating the area, you were sure one of them were yours.
βHey! I might not make it, so β¦ Take me to Tanjiro!β You requested. βPlease.β
Perhaps you were dramatic, but as you were adding pressure to the wound on your abdomen you believed that if you were to die; you would rather your last moments be shared fighting alongside someone you adored the most.
So here you were, following a Kasugai crow in a crucial and risky attempt to find Tanjiro. Due to your wounds, you were quite restricted in your movements.
Passing through more identically shaped walls with similar and endless designs, you didn't know if you were even getting anywhere. By losing a lot of blood your vision was distorted; you were on the brink of passing out from exhaustion. Then there was that Biwaβs tune.
The area had changed, and you obviously lost sight of that crow, but soon you would discover that it was in your favor after all.
Sliding one of the doors aside with newfound strength, you entered a room that was completely destroyed with rubble scattered everywhere.
And to your surprise there were people here. The Water Pillar, Giyuu Tomioka and β¦ Tanjiro!
βTanjiro! Mr. Tomioka!β You exclaimed as you struggled to walk, stumbling towards the scene.
Giyuu had ignited a fire and was currently in the middle of burning the blade of his katana, while Tanjiro sat up and glanced in your direction.
Both were covered in deep wounds and bloodsoaked bandages; they must have fought hard.
β[Name]! Your condition β¦ !β Tanjiro stammered as you collapsed right in front of him. βAre you alright?! You're bleeding out!β
He was always the one to care about others before himself.
βYou should get those wounds fixed up soon.β Giyuu concluded. βTanjiro?β
Tanjiro raised his hand while holding a roll of bandages. βAlready on it! [Name] hold on, let me patch you up.β
With gentle hands Tanjiro wrapped the bandages tightly around your abdomen to stop the bleeding. Not going to lie, your heart was fluttering.
His eyebrows knitted together in concentration; as he overlapped each strand of bandage a couple of times. He had this concerned look upon his face despite being in a terrible condition himself.
βIt seems you really fought hard, was it an upper moon you were faced with?β He asked calmly. To your embarrassment you could only shake your head.
βIt was just a regular demon.β You seethed a bit. You hated that you couldn't do more; destroy an upper moon just like Tanjiro did!
βI'm glad you're okay now. These demons keep growing restless.β He replied while tying a knot with the bandage around your shoulder.
But in all this Tanjiro did not shame you.
That's when he suddenly hugged you from behind, tightly, and unable to let go of your frame. He was waiting for any signs that you were okay, and the heavens above had answered his prayers today.
βThank goodness, I was so worried. When Ms. Kocho died; my thoughts went straight to you. I just can't afford to lose anymore people; it's so heartbreaking.β He continued, as his voice was trembling.
He cared for a low rank demon slayer such as β¦ you?
The Water Pillar, not really paying attention to such sentiments in the room, was preparing to slash and burn his wounds to stop the excessive bleeding.
But a mention of his comrades' death did make his heart ache, not that it was visible on his face.
βI was worried about you too. I wasn't sure how much damage you endured β¦β You placed your palm over his and grazed his fingers, while Tanjiro buried his nose into the crook of your neck.
Indulging in your comforting scent.
βHave you two always been this close?β Piped the Hashira, now standing up to put on his uniform and haori. Perhaps he was also a little uncomfortable.
βMhm, always.β You replied.
However, Tanjiro became flushed. β[Name] and I have known each other for a long time.β He slowly helped you up on your feet.
Suddenly, that same crow that you followed earlier swooped in on you all.
βCaw! These three: Shinobu! Kanao! Inosuke! Have defeated the upper moon two!β
How joyous you were, such an announcement rekindled your fighting spirit. Just when you believed that Kibutsuji's defeat was out of anyone's reach.
Just like there were losses there were also victories.
The young man turned to you with a bright smile on his face and held out his palm. β[Name], ready to go? Are you able to continue?β Tanjiro asked with concern, wavering in his tone of voice.
βReady as Iβll ever be.β You stated, quite re-energized; as you took his hand in yours.
βActually, I wanted to tell you that before you arrived, I was reading a letter sent from Mr. Rengoku; it read that there is another form of Sun breathing, which is the thirteenth form!β
Mr. Rengoku? As in your mentor's father?
βThirteenth form β¦ then that means-β You started.
βI could try to use it against Muzan.β Tanjiro finished.
Through the traditionally constructed corridors, the Water Pillar led the way as you all conversed.
As feet pattered, everyone moved quickly. In your bones, you knew there was little time to waste.
You could tell that even the Hashira was getting impatient; because with each sliding door upon the walls, out came more demons.
Each of you, however, quickly decapitated every one.
But in the minutes of recovering your stance, you were slow to react. Another one of those revolting beings was close to pouncing on you; that's when Giyuu took care of it.
With his Nichirin blade that demon was slaughtered; while its withering blood got in your eyes.
β[Name], careful.β He told you calmly, as you briefly wiped your eyes; free from blood.
Suddenly, there again was that crow. It appeared alongside you three. Was there already another announcement ...?
βCaw! The Mist Pillar, Muichiro Tokito! And Genya Shinazugawa! Were defeated by the upper moon one!β It declared.
More people were dying. This was horrifying.
You kept going; even while witnessing the disheartening expression on Tanjiro's face. As endless tears streamed down his cheeks, while all of you ran in the direction of Kibutsuji.
Here's a snippet from another new asked fic, in the weeks to come called: 'LAMENT' π«‘ This'll be a heavy one.

βD-Don't just stand there!β Zenitsu wailed and sobbed. βHelp us! You can't let him die!β That's right, there was no time to explain anything.

ββ "tanjiro, thatβs theΒ fifthΒ one youβve ruined."
you sigh, staring at the sad mess of crushed petals and broken stems in front of him. heβs sitting cross-legged on the grass, brows furrowed, tongue poking out slightly in concentration as he tries to weave another daisy into the thin chain of flowers.
βiβmΒ trying, y/n!β he protests, his voice soft but filled with determination. βthese little stems justβ¦ keep fighting back.β
βtheyβre flowers, not demons,β you tease, plucking a few blossoms from your pile. βtheyβre supposed to be delicate.β
he looks up at you thenβeyes bright, sunlight spilling into them like honey. βguess thatβs why iβm struggling. iβm better at handling tougher things.β
you snort, trying not to let your heart skip too obviously. βuh huh. sure. the great flower warrior of the backyard.β
he laughs, the sound warm and contagious. βhey, maybe i just need a better teacher.β
βoh, so now itβsΒ myΒ fault you canβt twist a stem?β you grin, crawling a little closer to show him how to loop the flowers properly. you reach for his hands, guiding his fingers through the soft petals.
but when you look upβheβs already watching you. close. too close.
his breath brushes your cheek, and your words die in your throat. βt-tanjiroββ
βsorry,β he says quickly, cheeks flushing as pink as the wildflowers between you. βyou justβ¦ had a petal on your face.β
you blink. βa petal.β
βyeah.β he nods, smiling shyly. βright there.β he gestures vaguely near your lips.
you donβt know whatβs worseβthe way your heart is hammering, or the fact that heβs terrible at lying.
βyouβre hopeless,β you mumble, sitting back and shoving the finished flower crown into his hands. βbut fine. you can wear this one.β
he beams, slipping it onto his head. it sits a little crooked, but somehow it fits him perfectly.
βdoes it look okay?β he asks.
you canβt stop the smile tugging at your lips. βyeah,β you whisper. βit looks perfect.β

k. tanjiro
. if he were an animal, he'd absolutely be a dog
. he's always so excitable and makes others happy
. and he would definitely love to be pet
a. zenitsu
. I can picture him being a tiger
. the colors match, and have you guys seen those videos of tigers in sanctuaries? they're absolute sweethearts
. definitely a shy one though
h. inosuke
. there's two options i can think of here
. the first is a boar, for obvious reasons
. the second is a bear
. he's absolutely feral, and bears can be absolutely terrifying
. living in the woods his whole life, he's incredibly strong, and definitely really good at hunting, which makes me lean towards carnivore here
. its up to you which you like better, but for me, it's a solid 50/50
k. nezuko
. bunny.
. goes without saying she'd absolutely be a cute rabbit
. i really want to say she'd be a lop, but the canon says otherwise
. in my dreams she's a black lop who adores cuddles
t. giyuu
. he's absolutely a cat
. he's so quiet and elegant, just like a black cat
. definitely hates being pet
. would want to be left alone
. i have a feeling that some of you readers, if he were your pet cat, would make him sleep in your room
. no hate tho i'd do the same
. guarantee you he's the kind of cat to just stare into space awkwardly, even if he has toys
r. kyojuro
. ok maybe this is obvious, but i'd say lion
. or a ridiculously fluffy housecat with energy like you've never seen
. either way, he's definitely a fiery feline of some sort.
. definitely strikes me as the kind of housecat that's constantly moving, running around, catching mice and birds, knocking things over
. but i also think that after several hours of energy, he'd just loaf and sleep like a rock. probably directly on top of you, or in another really inconvenient spot
. probably also breaks into your cabinets to steal food while you're asleep
s. sanemi
. hear me out guys, he's a honey badger
. honey badgers are absolutely insane
. it fits him perfectly
. feral and murderous
. he definitely goes after prey just for fun though, not because he needs it
h. gyomei
. okay he's a panda
. no other option
. definitely a panda
. he's big, probably really nice to hug, and overall a giant sweetheart
. dont tell me he wouldnt be famous, especially online, for just being a total cutie (like huahua, if you don't know her look her up, shes amazing)
. i can picture him as a panda, just a lot less lazy
t. muichiro
. okay i struggled a bit with this one, but i think he'd be a chinchilla
. now hear me out.
. he's quiet, pretty chill, and don't tell me you cant just picture a chinchilla fitting him perfectly
. would absolutely just lounge and nibble on snacks
. does get bursts of energy, but forgets what he's doing pretty quick
i. obanai
. you guys can't tell me he wouldn't be something weird
. he'd probably be a bilby, one of those weird australian mice things
. i don't actually know much about bilbies so i wont expand too much on it
. if he wasn't a bilby I can probably picture him as something scarier, like maybe a komodo dragon?
. those things are terrifying
. obanai fans dont jump me, but he scares me a little bit
u. tengen
. peacock, easy
. peacocks are so flashy, its perfect for him
. and not to mention those things make some weird noises
. i'd say a peacock is just flashy enough for him
. and not to mention, make peacocks are always showing off for females
. perfect fit for him and his wives
k. mitsuri
. she'd definitely be something really cute
. quokka, maybe?
. if not then i can picture her as a mouse
. she's definitely a mousy kinda girl
. i think it'd fit in perfectly with her character, actually
. some people think mice are disgusting, which could fit into her past with rejection
k. shinobu
. cheetah.
. she's fast, for one
. for two, cheetahs are very elegant, but also dangerous, just like her
. i also think she'd be adorable with cheetah marks on her face
k. muzan
. gotta go polar bear on this one
. first off, it matches the colors of his final form
. second, polar bears are ridiculously strong
. pretty sure they actively hunt humans (could be wrong tho, check your sources guys)
. which he of course does hunt humans
. if a polar bear attacks you, just give up, you're not surviving that
. same goes for muzan, if you're anywhere near him you're pretty much done for
kokushibo
. okay this one was tough
. but i'm thinking probably a panther
. those things are scary
. adorable, but scary
. in a weird way kokushibo is kinda cute
. so i think it fits
. if not a panther, then probably a bat?
douma
. 2 options here.
. leopard seal or dingo
. i think both fit pretty well
. leopard seals are so adorable but so dangerous
. same goes for dingoes
. honestly, it's up to you which you like more
. i personally think leopard seal fits him a bit better though
akaza
. okay this one was really tough too
. but i think i gotta go with either a bobcat or an arctic fox
. both fit his overall color scheme (as a human, anyway) but a bobcat catches the color of the stripes better
. not to mention, both are dangerous when they want to be
. bobcats have massive paws, if you're close enough to one, a solid smack with one of those paws will hurt pretty bad.
. feels like that fits, considering he's a martial artist
. and he'd look so cute with bobcat ears + tail bro you cant tell me otherwise

! worrisome fluff!
Tanjiro was like a statue except laying down. He seriously didn't move or feel like moving. His body was completely drained and exhausted from yesterday's trials and tribulations that he didn't even bother.
As he was trying to rest, he was a bit anxious wondering what you could be up to. You've been too quiet.
The male felt droplets of sweat formulating on his forehead. It appeared that he was underneath the blanket for too long, that the heat had finally caught up to him.
But as the minutes passed by; there was a strong scent that lingered in the air.
The scent was quite similar to something β¦ burning.
Upon such revelations, his eyes shot open. Tanjiro kicked off the blanket that was on him and got off his futon.
He rushed out the room, ran downstairs, and into the kitchen. He then swiftly grabbed your wrists when he got to you; right as soon as you finished putting out a fire that had set ablaze.
"[Name]!" The man shrieked. "Are you okay!?"
He was kicking you out of the kitchen, perhaps banning you on top of that. He grabbed your shoulders and turned you around, pushing you out of the area, just to get you to safety.
That was a bit harsh.
βWhat? Tanjiro! Hold on, I was just trying to make you something!β You began to explain, as your slippers dragged against the smooth wooden flooring towards the exit. Luckily, you managed to bring him to a stop.
Lately, things were getting out of hand with your persistence; as you seemed to constantly want to cook all of a sudden; even though it was usually Tanjiro who took care of such tasks.
It seemed as if some things didn't change, such as your ability to cook.
His warm rough palms were instantaneously glued to your cheeks, as Tanjiro whispered a string of apologetic words.
βI'm sorry [Name]. I shouldn't have called out in such a rude tone, but please be careful ...β
Now leaning forward, Tanjiro pressed his (hard) forehead against yours gently. A moment of silence passed before you finally replied.
βI'm alright! Besides; I took care of it!β Now it was your turn to reassure him.
βIt must have been quite the scare ... How did you manage to smell it from upstairs? I put it out as soon as it was ignited.β You followed up with a question of inquiry. It was like Tanjiro was a psychic when it came to sensing the dangers of the world.
He pointed to his nose; which indicated he still had a keen sense of smell. More importantly, he wondered why you urgently wanted to cook; but upon your failures, you would hide it from him.
Naturally, his heightened scent was just a feature about himself that he was exceptionally grateful for.
Tanjiro also had a few favorite scents.
Growing up from a household that had him constantly surrounded by the sweet scent of burning charcoal; he grew a fond of it.
Along with the freshness of mountainside snow, that would evaporate once the winter season was over.
Of course, there was also your scent. One that he couldn't forget and wouldn't dare to.
The delicious smell of primroses.
β[Name], I don't mean to pry, but what have you been trying to make lately? You are almost always in the kitchen.β
To that question, you instantly darted your eyes from him, and what was this? A blush had arisen; freshly painted only those cheeks cushioned between his palms.
You definitely couldn't hide anything from him; perhaps it was the consequences of leaving burnt evidence behind time after time again.
βI was trying to recreate your favorite dishes β¦β You muttered under your breath bitterly.
Before Tanjiro could protest, you continued and countered his instant argument of βyou didn't have to!β
βI wanted to, Tanjiro. I've seen how much you've been pushing yourself to overexertion. So I wanted to do something kind β¦β
This was so embarrassing to admit, especially after being caught and questioned.
But somehow, there was a glint in his eyes. He truly admired your efforts.
βThen! Let's make it together!β He beamed; with a large grin that stretched from ear-to-ear. He wanted to assist, especially if it meant carefully guiding you with every step of the way.
He was already cleaning up the smokey burnt mess of food you left behind with a damp cloth. It was like his energy had been replenished.
βOh, and [Name]?β He chirped happily. βI appreciate it.β
A/n : ahh it's been so long since I uploaded right? It felt so weird opening up my notebook and begin to write. Anyways here's a lil fic I wrote a few days ago. Just a reminder I'm going to post every Wednesday and Sunday now!!!

As the sun dipped below the horizon, I found myself walking next to my sweetheart, Tanjiro. We had an extremely strenuous mission from which we were returning. Now that the stress of the mission had lifted, it left behind a sense of accomplishment and a longing for the comforts of home.
On the way, suddenly, amidst the fading light, was a beautiful flower field stretched out before our eyes, mostly filled with dandelions. I gasped and tugged at Tanjiro's sleeve, "Look! Oh my gosh, a flower field! I've never seen one before it's so pretty!" I said in enthusiasm as Tanjiro marveled at my excited demeanor.
Entranced by the flower field's beauty, me and Tanjiro exchanged a glance, a silent agreement passing between you to explore this unexpected treasure. Different scents from all directions hit Tanjiro's nose. I giggled as I looked at him making faces while trying to adjust.
Tanjiro's calloused hands ran over the soft gorgeous flowers around the field, this was something he missed alot, he used to visit a humongous flower field not too far from his house alot in the summers as a kid but this was the first time in a while where he actually visited one again. A wave of sadness and nostalgia washed over him as he his lips turned downwards. I held his hands and caressed them, "Are you okay, m'love?" I asked him sympathetically as we walked through the field, thinking it might make Tanjiro feel better. "Yeah" Tanjiro let out a weak sigh, clearly missing his family.
The setting sun painted the sky in hues of pink and orange, casting a warm glow over the landscape. I watched in awe as the birds soared overhead, their graceful silhouettes dancing against the vibrant canvas above. In the distance, the lights of the village began to flicker to life, a comforting reminder of the civilization amidst the wilderness.
Lost in the beauty of the moment, me and Tanjiro found ourselves laughing and playing like children, the weight of our responsibilities momentarily forgotten. Our laughter echoed through the field as we played tag. His laughter and joy was infectious, I don't remember the last time I saw him like this, so carefree and full of energy even after a mission.
Laughing and giggling, we collapsed on the grass below us, "Caught you!" Tanjiro said panting and giggling. His hair brushed against my cheek as he scooted closer to me. As we sat in the field, my eyes were focused on the ethereal view ahead. Soft breeze whistled through my ears as I closed my eyes. These were the fleeting moments of pure joy demon slayers wanted amidst the chaos of our lives.
Tanjiro, knelt down amidst the dandelions, his nimble fingers plucking the delicate stems with care. With a playful glint in his eyes, I saw him crafting a dandelion clown, his hands working with practiced precision. I watched in admiration, marveling at his creativity and skill.
The sun dipped lower below the horizon, painting the sky into pinks, purples and deep blue stretching miles behind us. Tanjiro presented me with his creationβa whimsical dandelion clown, its petals arranged oh so precisely as if he was trying to mirror the way I make him feel. The way he was presenting the flower crown was like a toddler sweetly presenting a flower to his crush. I couldn't help but laugh at the sight, a warm feeling spread through my chest at the thoughtfulness of his gesture, "Aww, love, you really didn't had to do this much" I said, grinning eye to eye as Tanjiro tenderly put the crown on my head with hearts in his eyes, "No, you deserve it" Tanjiro smiled, softly pinching my cheeks. I cupped his and face kissed his forehead scar lovingly and asked, "There are so many pretty flowers here, which one is your favorite?". He thought for a moment, he caressed my hair as he finally spoke,
"There are very pretty flowers here, but if I were to choose the prettiest one...
I'll always choose you."
