found your blog years ago through your lisa project and saw you get into utdr, your art is insane and im a bit sad your dying asriel image is not a worldwide popular painting because the composition and idea of him being Huge got stuck in my mind and haunts me. thank you for your works. always happy to see an update from you.
What a kind message anon, this really made my day : ]
Im really glad u like the asriel/great beast art i did, that piece was something i made for a friend actually, as he really likes playing with the design of the human/monster soul hybrid. I've loved undertale since it was out, and I hadn't ever given its design much thought until he brought it up. Heres some sketches i did to get a feel of what i wanted, something I wish came through more in the final piece was the heart shape in their antlers...
I really wanted it to have an amalgam feel, and while i didnt go with the more "dragon-like" design for them, i liked that posing a lot, it looked very childish to me. I liked the contrast of something huge and powerful still acting like a hurt child.
It's been really fun to make utdr stuff to share with people : ] Even when posts don't really get big numbers, I've found theres a lot of people like yourself that have nice things to say, and that is much more important to me. I'm really glad to hear it's stuck with you : ] As far as lisa goes...
Like I mentioned above, I like to work on things when they bring me joy, and for many, many reasons Lisa (and this project in particular) stopped bringing me joy. I think it's taken me a long time to accept that. I still love the project and pick at it from time to time, so hopefully I will find my joy with it again.
