For years Grace Coddington has been revered within the industry but her standout appearance in fashion documentary The September Issue in 2011 brought her to the general public’s attention. Yesterday, the 74-year-old creative director of American Vogue revealed to Fashionista that the rights to her best-selling book about her life and career, Grace, have been acquired by A24, the production company behind The Bling Ring and Ex Machina.

However, we may have some time to wait for the biopic as Coddington also suggested that filming won’t commence any time soon: “It’s a very slow business compared to the fashion business.” In an interview with the Guardian earlier this year, when asked who would play her in the film of your life, Coddington responded “Julianne Moore would be good, and her daughter could play me as a young woman.” See you in the cinema queue.

On saturday morning...

It was 40 years ago today. A little rock n’ roll musical written by out-of-work actor, Richard O’Brien, premiered at the 63-seat theatre, The Royal Court Theatre upstairs. Young actors Tim Curry, Julie Covington, Chris Malcom, Richard O’Brien, Patricia Quinn, Rayner Bourton, Nell Campbell & Paddy O’Hagan made up the original cast. 15 months later, filming began for the film version of the hit musical which would become the longest running theatrical release of all time and the greatest and most well known cult film in history.
