1. NASA is awesome 2. Earth is round
Suggesting otherwise upsets me.

Apparently this is my face when interrupted while reading and I can't stop laughing at it.
For many of you, today is truly the end of summer as you (or your offspring) head back to school and those of us that work by the academic calendar welcome you (or them).
So what better motivation for “hitting the books” than one of my favorite Carl Sagan quotes: Somewhere something incredible is waiting to be known. Of course, learning isn’t only about books, it’s about curiosity and inquiry and keeping and open mind.
In that spirt, gear up with these tees and posters and go forth and discover incredible things!
Long sleeve Sagan tee (also available in short sleeves)
Neil Tyson + Carl Sagan combo tee (Neil on front, Sagan on back)
Carl Sagan quotes postcard set (also available as 5x7 prints)
All designs by the fabulous @meganleestudio who also makes the Women in Science tees/posters and planet posters we love so much.

Start now. Start where you are. Start with fear. Start with pain. Start with doubt. Start with hands shaking. Start with voice trembling but start. Start and don’t stop. Start where you are, with what you have. Just … start.

Where I work.
It's been ages since I posted, but I thought tumblr might like my new necklace.
While Tesla remained single his entire life, he did have a special bond with a female white pigeon and called her "the joy of his life" and claimed that he loved her "as a man loves a woman". He was kooky and brilliant and after months of searching I finally found the perfect locket for these two photos. ❤️

Science flash cards! These 3.5 inch x 5.75 inch cards are made with 100% plastic WATERPROOF card stock and come with facts about 50 different scientists throughout history. After reading through them, you'll be able to know which scientist was:
- forced by Nazis to work on the atomic bomb for Hitler - the first person to create to a true color photograph - short on money so they ate the dissected frog legs from a lab course - so afraid of germs that they refused to shake hands with anyone - going to be a doctor but changed plans because they couldn't stand the sight of blood
...and much more! ;)

I'll be glueing myself to this chair and making some new space-themed art this week. Stay tuned. 🚀✨🔭🎨😉
Finding love in all the little moments.
Even as an un-partnered women, there is so much love that I get to experience every day. Today it hit me how little moments with friends and strangers can mean so much.
Like:
Driving through the insanely crowded parking lot at Trader Joe's, navigating through pedestrians and cars backing out at the same time, then making eye contact with the driver passing me, simultaneously pulling comically crazy faces of exasperation at each other, then laughing and driving away.
A shopper sheepishly asking for help at the grocery store, then becoming giddily happy simply because I could reach items on the top shelf for her.
A dad that offers to make me breakfast, then does all all the dirty dishes because he know's it's the last thing I want to do.
A mom that's sick in bed, but snuggles my sick Oliver for hours and watches cartoons with him.
A sister hundreds of miles away that sends me ridiculous Arrested Development memes because she knows it will make me laugh.
A son that runs into the room to tell me he's hungry then laughs and says "I'm kidding, Mom. I just wanted to say I love you"
Rachel, who doesn't absolutely hate my guts when I forget to tell her I can't be at her child's birthday party, and then DRIVES TO MY HOUSE afterward to bring Oliver his goody bag.
Shirlee, who lets me text her silly things, like a photo of my latest musician crush, then immediately searches concert dates and texts back to let me know when his band will be in NC.
Melissa, for putting up with a sleep-deprived child for hours yesterday. Downtown with masses of tourists. AND buying me brussel sprouts and fries at Wicked Weed!
Jess, for being my single-mom comrade and fully understanding when I need to skip church, cry about the past, or laugh over cheesy tv shows together.
I am so grateful that I get to have these people and experiences in my life every day, and it is amazing and beautiful.
And now I get to go work for bit. From my couch. Because companies that make freaking robots pay me to make art for them, and that's damn amazing too.
Happy Valentine’s Day, friends.
Love, Megan <3
