P5 x P5X x ...CSP and Ibis Paint!?

Clip Studio Paint and Ibis Paint are partnering with ATLUS for a coloring contest! Did I find this out halfway through...?

Yeah...

But, even better news, anyone can enter! If you decide to enter, keep in mind that not all prizes can be shipped overseas.

However, the reason I am posting today is to archive all the line art you are able to color for the contest! Great for studying the style of Persona 5, Royal, and The Phantom X or just to practice some new coloring techniques you want to try. Link below!

If only I wasn't already procrastinating on getting ready for my trip by posting this, I would loooove to color them with my alcohol makers.

I encourage those who download them to share this post and re-upload the download as well. If there is anything I have learned from my few posts on this blog, and linking my sources, is Sega/ATLUS isn't shy to take down stuff.

Wow wow, what a week it has been! But it has been unofficially and officially revealed that Persona 3 is getting an official remake!

Persona 5 Strikers: Wallpapers

Hey I am back, with some wallpapers I have archived. I noticed a few months ago the Atlus webpage that contained all of the Strikers Wallpapers is missing a few wallpapers, so here I am to fix that. When they initially released these wallpapers, I went ahead and downloaded all of them (despite using one only one of them).

I think it is interesting that they picked Ryuji from the bunch since he is one of the least popular characters among Japanese fans.

Oh wow it's been awhile since I last posted... Apologies for that! A "project" I wanted to do was basically share the entirety of Kaneko's Works VIII with my own scans and "translation" of each illustration. I haven't gotten around to it since I am a full time college student. I will try to post something soon but I can't make any promises!

Friends by Kazuma Kaneko

Created for Persona 1 in 1997, this art includes this games party members. 

Seeing the outlines for the characters they seem thicker than what’s in the final art. It is cool seeing Kaneko’s process, even if it’s a small step.

Birth by Kazuma Kaneko

About: When starting his illustrations he will start on paper, then eventually scanning his work onto his computer.

The first subject of the drawing Kaneko made was Demi-Fiend as he was the main focus of the piece. He will often draw the “essential” or main focus of the piece first. After that he begins drawing the demons, ignoring what sticks out. 

Due to the limitations of his computer at the time he would split the image into four parts as the image can take up to 100-200 MB of RAM, keeping in mind that at this time computer RAM was just now hitting a gigabyte in size allowing Painter to run smoother. Since Kaneko doesn’t have to meet many deadlines for several pieces of work he will often take his time and add many details to his art.

The tools Kaneko used for the works is as follows:

Software: Painter 6, Photoshop 6.1

Hardware: PowerMacintosh, G4/450 Dual, memory 1024MB (equivalent to 1GB)

Tablet: WACOM intuos2 i-620

Mod thoughts:

I... REALLY love this artwork, it’s one of my favorite pieces created by Kaneko, specifically the limbs as odd as it sounds. The way he tends to draw characters, around the time of Nocturne and Persona 2 duology look like a porcelain dolls. His digital work is gorgeous and I love it, I can’t get over it!  — Luna
