          â oh, i donât know. MAYBE. â
          â you CANâT make me. just be DAMN glad iâm no longer six-headed. i donât WANT TO, ergo this is how itâs going to be. finito. âÂ
          âI think Iâve aged very well, thank you.â
          â you remind me a bit of... that GERMAN tradition. saint nikolaus i think. â
âYou keep up with that attitude, and I just might.â
          â REALLY, sam? really? do you want to DO this? â
       a pleased sort-of warmth colors his cheeks and he smiles. âoh, well, i mean it was really aslan who broke the winter. my siblings and i just fought in the battle.â and were crowned after. some whispered how it was lucy coming into narnia that started that particular magic, but in any case, peter knew it wasnât just HIM that broke the spell.
       â is there anything you or your sisters are in dire need of, skylla? â peter had no idea what naiads would need, or even want â did they even eat? â but he knew he needed to find out. â or is there anything you need help with? because my siblings and i are here to help. â it was still so early in their reign, and peter still wasnât quite sure on what to DO. the narnians seemed more than capable of taking care of themselves, and not many purposefully sought the pevensies out. all of it made peter feel rather unneeded and definitely unwanted.
          she was pleasantly SURPRISED by the interest the high king took in her and her SISTERS, â but you were here to TAKE the battle no one else dared, surely that is admirable, â at LEAST it was a brave feat. but her and her sisters were GREAT now that the rivers were flowing again, better than EVER -- though the broad rivers wouldnât last. but she was a curious sort. and the offer was KIND. â we are GREAT, but if i could ask a more personal favour? â she LONGED. she had spent so long under water, so long by her RIVERSIDE -- and narnia was no longer the narnia she grew up in, it had CHANGED, the nature, the ANIMALS, humans on the throne.Â
          and she wanted to SEE IT ALL, to see how her HOMELAND had changed -- she wanted to ride with them, to see cair paravel, to meet other narnians, to smell ROSES for the first time in many many years. â when youâre LEAVING... iâd like to come WITH YOU. if thatâs possible, i donât think iâve ever been far from here, and after this winter, i GUESS itâs time to see more of the world than what iâm familiar with. â she HOPED he understood, and moreso she hoped the king would allow her to travel with their party.
@cryokinetics
          RAIN was not the kind of WATER she preferred, and it was hard enough to GET BY in what society had turned into -- she was a NAIAD, water was her home, but NOT LIKE THAT. it was POURING DOWN. she sat down at the bus stop for shelter, barely looking at the one STANDING there with a hood over his or her head as she twisted water out of her hair. it seemed THOUSANDS of years still hadnât taught her to DRESS for the weather, but she didnât care, not even that she was far away from sicily and what was SAFE areas for her. cities. they were so DIFFERENT. everyone was so alone, and so was SHE. the seas werenât as ALIVE as they once were, many siblings sheâd had in nature had perished, and she was ALONE. â excuse me, uhm, do you know what TIME it is? â THUNDER made her shiver, she wondered if zeus still was the one behind it -- it had been too long since the gods of OLYMPUS walked among humans -- longer since anyone had BELIEVED.Â

                           ââ you were the most beautiful rose i had seen.                    so i recklessly reached for you, forgetting that even roses have thorns. ââ
@mentisvolatus from here: x
          â just GO, you do not belong here, â she HISSED at the stranger, it had been FAR too many years since she had met PEOPLE, and the one in front of her -- he reeked of death. her CAVE was a good place to hide, a place of SAFETY from a world that had CHANGED, but there he was, smelling of CORPSES. â HOW did you find me? â sheâd been ALONE for longer than she could COUNT -- and that in years. somewhere in the HUNDREDS since she last spoke to someone, and her voice was coarse, her dress HARDLY a dress any longer, looking more like the SEAWEEDS she used as a BED.Â
           An eyebrow ARCHED in surprise and question. Sitting on a patch of dry sand nearby, he shrugged as he looked out into the water. Sometimes he wished he drew the sea for his lot. Life would be simpler, yet he could never let go of his hold on the SKY. â I can help you, if you wish. â Always a gentleman. He hardly noticed she wasnât covered until she moved to do so. â My apologies, not everyday you see someone EMERGE from the sea. â
          ANY girl would say yes to such an OFFER, and she was not one to PASS IT DOWN, and she smiled at him, not sure WHO she was talking to, but that it was pleasant company. STILL, she knew better than to easily trust a MAN -- had fell to such charm before, and she wetted her bottom lip. HELPING her with her hair was INNOCENT, â i think iâd like THAT, if itâs not too much, â and so she moved CLOSER, smiling again at the notion of him apparently having watched her as she rose from the SEA -- or, river, but it was CLOSE enough.Â
    âhey carter! where did your sister get those shoes? you know those cute black ones?â peggy scoffed after glancing over her shoulder. âhow many times do I have to tell you? i donât have a sister jess.â she went back to her file, quickly signing her name before shoving it to the bottom of her duffle bag. âyeah alright, so you say. i still think you two are running some sort of scam.â the cop shook her head, walking to the desk. âthat would get me fired and if thereâs anyone who wants that less than my dad itâs meâŚnow come on, put out the clipboard so I can sign in. youâre slacking at your job.â
    after a few more jabs back and forth, peggy made her way into the locker room. she grumbled about the change in her class under her breath, finding a locker and stuffing her bag into it. as she took off her jacket her phone slid out and onto the floor, stopping next to a woman. âoh, sorry do you mind?â she certainly didnât want to reach into someone elseâs space. glancing up she found herself staring into a mirror.
          she took the fallen phone and rose to HAND IT to the other woman, only to PAUSE. â oh. â she was at loss of words, the other so similar, if not a PERFECT mirror -- sure, they wore their hair differently, but the FACE was the one she looked at in the MIRROR every morning. how UTTERLY STRANGE, her lips were slightly parted as she just stared for a few more seconds, then she got UP from the floor, standing in front of the one looking so like her. she was COMPELLED to reach, stroke fingers over her CHEEK, to see if it was some sort of DREAM. but she knew that wasnât the case, it was another woman -- looking JUST LIKE HER, and it was as disturbing as it was curious.Â
          â well this is... i donât KNOW. iâm SKYLLA, â and apparently thatâs how she GREETED the one who looked so like her, the phone still in her hand, SLIPPING into the other womanâs as she let go of it, then corrected a strand of her hair and STEPPED BACK. her hair was DAMP from the shower sheâd just been in, and with an armâs length between them it was CLEAR they werenât at all the SAME. while SCYLLA was in a comfortable dress ( and not very FOND of wearing any form of underwear, but at least wore a bra ) the OTHER was in what looked like HALF A UNIFORM. she looked more tense too -- though in a situation like THEIRS it made sense. that explained why people had been talking about her COP SISTER -- and though she had many siblings none of them would likely be ALLOWED to work in the police with a father like theirs.Â
          so... she had a LOOKALIKE, and a damn GOOD one. they could be sisters, her father HAD been around, but for them to be so alike without being TWINS? it raised questions. she had no CARD to hand the other, and she had to RUN, but sheâd like to talk about what had just happened. â right. could we do THIS another time? i have things to DO, but this canât be normal, â and she tore a napkin from a disposer, then scribbled down her NUMBER on it, handing it to the OTHER WOMAN, a soft smile -- too baffled to give a more INTELLIGENT response.
@telcxntar ( plotted starter )
          most days she was ALONE, the birds and the otters her only COMPANY, and so she was in the water, the RIVER anduin always offering the most pleasant stories, whispering them -- or so she FELT when she heard the water run through the small stones at the riverbank, when the BIRDS sang, as the years went by and the otters hid in the WINTER, and she wondered what they did, and where the birds went. but she could not LEAVE her home -- the anduin was her, it was a bond CLOSER than siblings or marriage, it was part of the soul she HOPED she had.Â
          which was why she in an INSTANT knew someone was close. the BIRDS flew, grass was being crushed down -- someone or something was VISITING, and so she looked around, but they were YET to show themselves, and she let the water bring her to the edge, hiding in a low hanging bush, scouting for WHATEVER had disturbed her -- and looked into FOUR LEGS, horse legs, sheâd only seen them free and wild, this one was... controlled, of sorts, and her eyes wandered up to a FOOT, one like her own, but in leather, like the few ELVES she had met, and so she rose from the water. it must be a MAN or an elf,  it was only when she STOOD, hair covering her breasts, but the rest left as naked as any other day -- she KNEW elves dressed, and maybe humans too -- but it was impractical in the water, and she didnât often get COLD. when she rose she saw him -- a MAN, those had BEARDS, like dwarves she was told, yet HE was the first of the sort sheâd met, and she smiled at him, hands finding the horseâs NECK, caressing the proud animal. horses she knew, not men. â HELLO, are you passing through mirkwood? if so itâs easiest to follow my river. â

â arenât you going to offer me a cup of coffee? â â just how dangerous is she? â â would you like company? â â i have no reason to forgive you. â â you ever touch me again, i will kill you. â â iâm going to stop having sex with guys who smell of smoke. â â you look like you just woke up. â â that was brave but awfully stupid. â â my kitchen is 100 per cent ikea. â â i thought you were dead or something. â â do you want me to leave? â â youâre such a mystery. you never talk about yourself. â â i burned everything that would burn. â â just keep in touch. iâd like to know whether youâre dead or alive. â â youâre an entropic chaos factor. â â in that case, all thatâs left is for me to commit suicide. â â you donât give a shit about other people. â â usually itâs other people who donât give a shit about me. â â i thought youâd died. â â you really are out of your mind. â â now youâre really going to have to explain to me who you are and what you want. â â this is going to be a long night. â â go home and get some sleep. â â we donât know the motive for the murders. â â it was an execution, pure and simple. â â i need a burger. â â i can keep a secret, if thatâs what youâre wondering. â â is she unbalanced? â â is she capable of murdering two people in cold blood? â â iâm a cynic. i believe everyone has it in them to kill another person. â â shit, the whores are looking worse all the time. â â youâd have to be pretty desperate to pick her up. â â it doesnât feel like the act of a lone nutcase. â â can you describe the man you say you saw attack her? â â does she have a police record? â â i donât think it was you who shot them. â â they sell handcuffs and whore outfits and stuff like that. â â lesbian satanists. â â maybe you donât give a damn but i want to know who killed my friends. â â what would you do if it was me? â â donât you like men? â â i donât give a shit what you believe. â â how i choose to live my life and who i have sex with is none of your business or anyone elseâs. â â so you found my strap-on in my drawer. what did you fantasise about then? â â my answer is that itâs none of your fucking business. â â that surly cunt is squirming like a snake. â â am i being arrested for anything? â â if your questions piss me off, i wonât answer. â â there are no innocents. there are, however, different degrees of responsibility. â â fuck you too. need help? â â sheâs one fucking freaky chick. â â you had made her angry. â â iâm not innocent. but i didnât kill them. â â even psychopaths need motives. â â do i look like a satanist? â â youâre a sadistic pig, a pervert, and a rapist. â â as far as iâm concerned, you should be put to death at once. â â she was a whore. whores get paid. â â itâs not me you need to ask for forgiveness. â â you didnât have sex with her. you raped her. â â you must be one of the sorriest perverts iâve ever met. â â you look like a car crash. â â iâm going to kill you! â â thanks for being my friend. â â in case you get any stupid ideas, if you even try to get up iâll shoot you right in the gut. â â you look like shit. like a fucking prostitute. â â youâd really like to kill me, wouldnât you? â â there canât be a man whoâd want you. â â heâs not a fairy. he just doesnât have sex. â â she was always the one with the brains â you were just worthless filth. â â youâre just a run-of-the-mill creep who hates women. â â i can tell him to break the bones in your body one by one until you answer. save us the trouble. â â do you really think this is going to blow over? â â iâm going to kill you too. â â you came here to kill me and nothing else. â
