mesmalie is incredible and one of my favourite games ever made now, somehow the full release exceeded my expectations more than I could have imagined, I have so many thoughts and already want to replay it 100 times over,,,

I think people should make more weird shit, more weird indie stuff that is made for people just like you. I say this because despite every recent game announcement in the last couple days, one of the games I'm looking forward to more than any other right now is Mesmalie, a little visual novel about taming your magickal ability with the help of the world's most normal witch who has absolutely nothing suspicious about her whatsoever.

I mean, she seems completely normal, look at her dance! Could someone with moves like this be evil? Didn't think so...

So I've been playing an indie game that just came out called Mesmalie.

This game caught my eye due to the really cool looking art style.

You play as a guy learning magic from this cute witch which you can totally trust 100%. This game has multiple endings and lots of unique environmental interactions and surprises. (You can burn shit, pretty much.)

The funniest part of this game is that you always have the option to click the top left icon and leave the story.

Doing so will trigger a game over sequence. There are multiple unique game over sequences depended on where you are in the story, seeing them all counts towards 100% and they can be amusing.

Anyway, that's all I will say about this game. I don't want to spoiler anything else as this game has a ton of surprises that you have to see for yourself. It's less than $10 on Steam so pick it up now if you want to play something new. Also the music is very good.

I had a lot of fun figuring out how to translate the game's cast into my artstyle. The artwork of the game is pretty heavily stylized so there's a lot of features that are up to interpretation.

(Took a bit of work though, as evidenced by each of them taking four tries.)

Weirdly enough, I had the easiest time translating Malady and the MC, purely because they're both drawn with noses in their og artwork.

I feel like I'm on the edge of falling into "same-face syndrome", so this was a strangely helpful exercise of sorts.
