Marco Diaz Ancestor theory kinda
I know i know i should be drawing but i saw a video saying Captains Alphons (the captain we see in pictures on both marcos room and eclipsa’s room )/confirmed Eclipsa’s dad and solaria (eclipsa mom/ a previous mewmin queen ) bang on a ship and had eclipsa then the captain left cause the queen said she didn’t have time for a king
but it kinda feels like Captain came to earth and started a family that leads to the birth one of marco's parents making Marco a half royal thought blood connection to eclipse. even if not directly that could implicated that as the only true bloodline left other then Meteoria Marco would be considered the next true hair of the butterfly bloodline.
the captains other children would be considered eclipsa's half siblings making their children eclipsa's nieces and nephews regardless of marriage between captain and queen. with that in mind Eclipsa's Half Siblings would have had more right to the throne then a stranger and since the council couldn't exile/dethrone what they don't know the butterfly rights to the throne would have gone to the half siblings if the system is similar to real life royals who don't have an Heir.
which means Marco would be considered (in name)the True Butterfly heir and with no one to oppose him he'd be the (bastardized) true king of mewnin so having star fall in love/ marry him would make her a true (again only in name )Butterfly queen thought marriage. the actual butterfly bloodline would be taken out of the royal family but the Butterfly Name would continue to rule with star family not being a fraud peasant family but an actual Butterfly.
not much is told about the captains relationship with the queen or eclipsa but considering exlipsa kept a picture of him and used it to escape or wonder into unknown places it’s kinda feels like he did see her once in a while or at least enough for her to feel comfortable to have his picture be the secret door.
another thing is Solaris might have took the Captain as a Concubine instead of a king so she wouldn’t be tied down and he’d not need to take the butterfly name which means one child could be considered the legitimate heir and any other children would not and have to retain the captains name. with a Heir produced and a second unneed child that would have to remain a secret or have the captain marry the queen because of legal reasons/to keep the butterfly image among the mewins (once the captain was gone i suspect the royal family (mostly the council) lied to the public saying Eclipsa’s father was a king who died over seas)
if eclipsa had a half or full sibling that was the ancestor of Marco then Marco is thou technicality or blood a Butterfly. and in one way or the other it would fix the Butterfly lineage
