I never post on Tumblr, but i decided to do so today because something was bothering me. Specifically Beyonce Vs. Rihanna fiascal.
Okay so first i will start by saying i love both women so much They are amazing and have accomplished so much ! Beyonce Has been in the game almost or more than 20 years, Rihanna 8 years. I by no means am the type of person who puts these two black women against each other…but I am very annoyed at how society (specifically blacks) treat Rihanna. I have been sitting and watching a lot of people call Rihanna out for the same things Beyonce does, yet Beyonce is called “classy” or better. Well i have came her to point out hypocrisy, pre-judgment, hate and bias.
Lets start with Exhibit A:
Rihanna smokes, there’s no hiding it she loves weed.
but … So does Beyonce, even though its not the same thing she still smokes. Also there have been reports that bey smoke weed but a very minimal amount and not often.
Society talks down on Rihanna being a female who smokes, but praises Snoop dogg , Wiz Khalifa and any other Male artist who smokes…not to mention this generation weed is very popular with African Americans. Most People who judge her for smoking smoke everyday on their porch.
Exhibit B: Crotch grabbing.
Rihanna is Caribbean , a very popular dance in the West Indies is to (Pat your pum pum) Rihanna does a lot of “pussy patting” which doesn’t bother me because i see lots of West Indian people do it.
Bey Grabs her crotch too, but the reaction that Bey gets is (YASSSSSSSSSSS BEY YOU BETTA SNATCH!!!)
Rihanna likes to drink , i have yet to see her Sloppy sloppy nasty drunk , nor have i seen Beyonce sloppy drunk . These two women know how to handle their liquor. Side-note : (Beyonce use to say she doesn’t drink)
Exhibit D : Risque Stage attire
Rihanna has been called Nasty, Whore, unlady like for her stage wear …but Isn’t Beyonce the Queen of Sexy stage attire???
Exhibit E: The CAN OF WORMS!!!! (Sexual Songs/Performances)
Both women sing about sex. i dont think both sing about sex as much as Kelly Rowland…Most of Beyonce and Rihanna songs are about Love, heartbreak,haters and dancing. I remember Rihanna wasn’t going to make a Pour it up video… (Pour it up is a song about stripping), but her fans begged her to do one, so she did.Rihanna sticking to the topic of her song and making the video all about strippers.She also got bashed for wearing a blue jean thong… keep the blue jean thong in your head okay.
In this same year i have seen women Contradict themselves and become complete HYPOCRITES As soon as Beyonce Dropped that visual.
Exhibit F: Dancing on a pole/risky performances
Rihanna was pushed to the ground when she did the sexy performance with Britney on stage and when she was on a pole in her video.I couldn’t understand why when just years earlier Beyonce was on a pole on stage and has given lap-dances on stage too…. i was shocked to see people dragging Rihanna!
Beyonce does the exact same thing!!!
Also Rihanna got backlash for posting sexy pics of herself on Instagram… But Beyonce does it too so why do people turn a blind eye.
Beyonce May not be as blunt as rih but she knows these pictures are all about her body and nothing more!

I shouldn’t have to go into details the pictures should explain that both pose Nude and sexy …but They also do high fashion editorials and cute magazine covers.

When people say all Rihanna sings about is sex it boils my blood. simply because most of Rihanna songs are about love and heartbreak not sex! you cant even name more than six songs that she sings about sex. Both ladies put an occasional sex song on their album both ladies biggest hits aren’t about sex!
People got in an uproar over Rihanna lyrics from S&M, Cockiness, Cake, Skin,Watch n Learn and You da One.

So Now we get to my closing statement/question. Why is it that Rihanna gets so much hate for what Beyonce and other artist like Lady GaGa Britney Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj do ? Why is Rihanna held to a different standard? Why is Rihanna the poster child for wrong? Is society unfair to Rihanna because she isn’t an American pop-star or is it because she is under Jay-z record label, or maybe its the Chris brown situation… idk but i really think the world should cut this lady some fucking slack!
