melinda gordon is a goddamn icon and i will tolerate no ghost whisperer slander in my life (or afterlife), ever. in spite of every awful thing she faced in her youth (and even later as an adult), she grew up to be brave, loving, kind, and utterly devoted to her calling no matter what anyone else thought of her or her gift. she showed me that pain and suffering didn't have to harden my heart or make me jaded to the world around me. she showed me that it's alright to feel the things that hurt you deeply but that it's also possible to heal and create a life full of wonder and hope and love. she showed me that being a hero isn't always about jumping headfirst into dangerous situations (though granted, she did do a lot of that herself 👀). it's also about the little things. the quiet kindnesses. being a listening ear or a shoulder to cry on. being there, at the right time, for the right person. being a person who cares and isn't afraid to show it. and so far my yearly rewatch of the show has been the best thing that's happened to me all quarantine, so. yeah. here i am rambling about ghost whisperer at 4am with no regrets or hesitation.

anyways, jim clancy is the best man ever and no i will not be taking any criticism on that, thank you and good night. :)

Listen I know ghost whisperer is cancelled and there’s no more seasons but y’all remember that little orphan kid who said he was telling everyone Melinda was his mom when he crossed over??? I want a bonus episode of Melinda as an old lady crossing into the light and her whole family is there to greet her including that little kid. Make it happen.

I would like to formally apologize for my Professor Rick Payne blogging but my feels for this character returned full force recently.  Honestly, I’ve barely though about him at all since Ghost Whisperer dropped him back in like 2008 or something.  I don’t even really like Ghost Whisperer, I find it disappointing in its refusal to take risks in its story; everything always turns out okay in the end and they were always dropping the darker story lines like the underground church.  Don’t even get me started on how they killed off Jim, gave him a new body, and then pretended nothing ever happened in the next season.  But Rick Payne, man was that a fantastic character.  He was a cynic with a dead wife who cheated on him before her death and went to the dark side after it, yet he still wore his wedding ring.  He was a genius who seemed to know more about the supernatural than Melinda even did despite her upbringing, and he was so in love with her but she was married so he never told her, he never put that on her.  If Ghost Whisperer succeeded in anything, it was his character.
