Possibly a hot take: I don't think William/Laura would be good trans representation 💔 Let me explain. I don't think portraying a pre-transition trans woman as a violent abusive drunk (as William was shown to be in one of the trailers) and then have her be extremely mentally tormented and take her own life after transitioning is good or helpful to the trans community, especially duting this violently transphobic time we're living in. It plays into transphobic stereotypes that we can't perpetuate. No hate to the people who headcanon this obviously and ofc the stories of evil and malicious marginalized people deserve to be told too but not at a time that refuses to see all trans people as human beings. I'll be very disappointed in the studio if they decide to go forth with this idea. It ranges from tone-deaf to fully malicious imo.

It's unspeakable how insulting in comparison that "According to CHATGPT" part of the panel is.

Just the sheer fact that they chose to write that instead of, IDK, citing the sources the LLM inventedlisted? That they felt comfortable writing that?

That's even ignoring them yapping about how they are shying away from real-world allusions and creating their own language and removing all those real-world references that grounded the setting.
