What about a father's best friend plot but with an emotional connection? 👀

The father of the Muse A is in the hospital and not in a good place. Maybe an accident of sorts or maybe he's an alcoholic that had his ways catch up to him? The father's best friend (Muse B) is at his bedside and doing absolutely everything possible to make things easier on the family. Fetching meals, staying overnight and even doing laundry for the family while they remain at their father's bedside.

Over some time, Muse B begins to form a bond with Muse A. He becomes the shoulder to cry on, the only one who will listen when they vent, the.... oh?

pls hear me out, all i want is a summer plot of two childhood friends that used to spend every summer together at their families’ summer houses, but for some reason, they haven’t seen each other in a couple of years. this summer they reunite and maybe realize how in love them have been w each other and finally do smth about it?? except that,  plot twist !! one of them is in a serious relationship, and their significant other shows up as a surprise and cue the angst.

there’s just something about western plots that i can’t seem to get out of my head. grumpy, reclusive cowboys stuck in their ways that have to be brought out of their shell; easy-talking, charming ranch hands who know how to show you a good time, but only now are okay with the idea of being tied down. girls who’ve been brought up mud-streaked and wild, acres of land to run through and never having to hide; city girls out of their depth in these small, claustrophobic towns, but find a sense of freedom in the country air. this is an itch that i need to scratch!!!
