not enough people take advantage of the fact that pernese dragons can stand on their hind legs and manipulate things with their 5-fingered forelimbs we need to let those creatures (imaginary) make art
YES YES YES I HAVE BEEN SAYING IT. THEY HAVE
HANDS
Hold on, do they actually have opposable thumbs? I’d forgotten this
yes! the original dragonets, the purely native fauna, had tridactyl pincer hands. the initial test run to create firelizards from dragonets included, in addition to more intelligence, giving them four digits and a thumb. dragons retained this condition and therefore are thumbed creatures.
@threadfall check me?
When I was 10 I got a bunch of Pern books, including a paperback world biology sort of book which included so many pictures of the creature anatomy, and it fundamentally changed how I designed my own dragons (Both Pern and non pern).
It is 100% why all my dragons have hands even to this day. I think I realized that if I was a big intelligent creature that is sapient as well as sentient, I would want fucking hands of my own, and so they do. And they use them for all the things we do, from arts and crafts, writing, playing games, doing labor, full freedom of objects to move and manipulate. It was a great decision
EXACTLY.
