I like dogs, not particularly cats, but this is HILARIOUS!
Omg, I love this so much that I’m reblogging myself.

Here are some of the most common name abbreviations for men.
Legs for days. (via cooltonedcutie)
This is the hardest I’ve laughed in a long time.
“This said nothing about nursing…yet you already knew this was your job description”
Sorry, had to do IT.
I’m Sorry.
Im sorry.
Im sorry that you will never get to experience another fall day. Im sorry that you will never get to drive down the road with the most perfect breeze on the most perfect end of summer day listening to your favorite song.
Im sorry you will never get the chance to go fishing with your friends or run another tough-mudder. You’ll never get to enjoy your promotion. Im sorry for the ex girlfriend who will now carry a portion of this burden of guilt for the rest of her life.
I’m sorry for the friends you left behind and I am sorry for your parents. Your mom; oh, she cried soo hard. Your grandpa fainted. Your friend threw up. Your dad stood in the corner silent with tears in the corners of his eyes.
I’m sorry to those who were not able to benefit from your healthy organs. You were super healthy. You had a great heart and some great kidneys and a perfect liver. Im sorry that we couldn’t keep you long enough for organ procurement. Im sorry that we maxed out on four pressors. When I say that we tried, we really tried everything that we could. There was just too much damage. You had the orange dot and were on the registry. That was new within the past two months; were you planning this on some subconscious level? Im sorry for the police office who watched you do what you did. I can’t imagine he is going to sleep anytime soon.
Im sorry that I am able to sit here, on my porch, on this absolutely beautiful day and look out into my yard and be thankful for every last thing I have. Im thankful that today my family is not a pack of zombies who don’t know how to move forward with life without me. I can’t imagine what your family is going through. I can’t imagine what it is like to physically walk out of the ED without a family member, get into my car, and be expected to drive home and just go on with me life.
Im sorry that you found yourself in this situation. I am sorry that you felt like you had no other options. It makes me sick when I think of it. I didn’t know you at all. But I know what it’s like to have bad times and to feel like you’re backed into a corner. And for that, I am so sorry for you. I am sorry that you thought that suicide was the only way out.
Im sorry for everyone involved in this situation. Im sorry that you didn’t just go to bed and wake up in a better place, a better time. Im sorry that someone is going to open a paper today and see your name followed by dates.
I watched you slip from sinus tach to sinus to idioventricular to an agonal rhythm. I watched your last official heartbeat on the monitor. I saw your nurse turn off the monitor when you slipped into ventricular fibrillation. I saw your mom start to heave at the bedside. I saw what your dad looked like when he looked at you once the monitors were off and vent was disconnected and the glass doors were slid shut every so slowly and carefully.
I saw your tattoos when I went in to get the blood. I held your hand and said a prayer to the universe. It was so quiet in that room. I looked at your tattoos. I made sure everything was in order before we handed you over to security and the morgue.
I watched them zip you up into that white bag and move you over to the transport cart and I watched them push you out of the department. Im sorry that you found yourself in this situation and felt like you had no one to call or no way out.
Pause. Breathe. Repair the broken and move forward.
There is always someone out there.
Remember this.

This is real.
yoooooo
About a week ago I started listing my family's dysfunctions and realized it sounds like a tv show 😳
I went to the ENA conference. You know they offer a yoga break? News flash-not all nurses like yoga! Believe it or not some nurses are male and some of us fought in a war and some of us just want to sit and scratch ourselves and drink a Busch lite to relax. Not deep breathe and stretch out our little Toesies. Some things I’ll just never get on board with.

In case you didn't know.
On April 4, 1968 Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated while standing with striking sanitation workers in Memphis. Today we remember his memory. RIP Martin Luther King Jr.
The 1918 Spanish flu epidemic, which killed somewhere between 20 million and 50 million people, started just as World War I was winding down. Nobody cured it, or really successfully treated it. A fifth of the people in the world got the flu during the pandemic.
Flu broke out in Fort Riley, Kansas, on this day in 1918.
I tell people about this all the time. Get your flu shot!!
On February 19, 2017 – the 75th anniversary of the signing of Executive Order 9066 – the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum will open a new photographic exhibition entitled, IMAGES OF INTERNMENT: THE INCARCERATION OF JAPANESE AMERICANS DURING WORLD WAR II, with over 200 photographs including the work of Dorothea Lange and Ansel Adams. Signed by President Franklin D. Roosevelt, Executive Order 9066 led to the incarceration of 120,000 people of Japanese descent – including approximately 80,000 American citizens – during World War II. The exhibit will be on display in the Library’s William J. vanden Heuvel Gallery through December 31, 2017. Regular hours and admission apply.

Let us not forget
While it is important that we hold police accountable for their actions, I’d like to take a moment to thank the police. Tumblr is far too anti police.
Thank you for the countless times you’ve kept me safe at work. Thank you for the countless times we’ve pulled the silent alarm and you come running. Thank you for protecting me. Thank you for using minimal force in the process. Thank you for listening to me. Thank you for dealing with the absolute crap and riff raff that we discharge and then they are your problem. Thank you for all the times I’ve seen you give people (of all color) the benefit of the doubt–and you didn’t have to. Thank you for your continued compassion and dedication to making sure everyone you serve and protect-black, white, man, woman, straight, gay, old, young-is treated equally and fairly.
Thank you.
Let’s test something, if Trump goes full on Hitler would you actually be willing to hide the persecuted within your own home?
As in literally within your house, in your basement, in your attic. Reblog this post if you would.
