Throwback to when Gaius and Allie appeared in Gridania for Hatching Tide 2022. I cannot adequately express the joy these images still give me even months later.
In the context of Gaius X Lena, I love the rueful tone I hear in his voice on his first line here. I can easily imagine Lena's excitement at the goldmine of jokes she gained in that moment for teasing him.

Not only is this gorgeous but it gets my brain juices going in how beautiful it would be to have a song where Kereboros is singing, then slips on his mask, and the voice of the departed in question fades in, harmonizing...an auditory presentation of that ability to sing forth the voices of the dead.

So I've gotten my mom to try FFXIV and she is level 14 right now and practicing her targeting/killing moves!
Current skills we are working on: the basic archer rotation, targeting, switching targets when more than one critter is aggroed...and noticing when things are dead/she's being attacked.

Back to mom game time! Upon login, she was taken back into the cutscene the power outage interrupted...

Mom picked the option to try to stay again because she wants Papalymo to blast her back onto the ship
Mom: So that leaves a mystery as to what happened to Papalymo? Me: Well, if you've seen the previous time that was cast, Louisoix dies after casting it... Mom: Ahh, and that was apparent from the conversation... Me: Yep. Yda knew too, so that's why Thancred had to drag her off

Usually when something funny happens that they will immediately explain in the next two speech bubbles my mom will instantly stop in confusion and ask me what is going on and I have to be like 'You'll see'

As a mom both in-game and IRL, who also got her own mother to venture forth into Eorzea (she's just unlocked Crown of the Immaculate, so that'll be fun), these are a heckin' riot and so spot-on.

I've technically had this for a while but I haven't quite figured out how to use it? I'm going to try to migrate some of my bird-app stuff over here, but that's still my primary platform outside of the game and Discord for interacting with fellow FFXIV fans. As a reminder, my stuff does have spoilers up through Endwalker.

Melodic bursts into tears. "I'm so sorry, 'Raha...everyone..." She sobs, shoulders shaking, her face buried in the fur collar of his coat. Desperately, she clings to him so tightly, as thought the purifying light of his soul can cleanse the violating taint of Zenos on hers. ____ This bit of MSQ hit me in the past-trauma. I angry-cried through the whole thing. I might go back at some point to take better pictures telling the story of my WoL processing the violation. I just...needed SOMETHING and we weren't given much of an opportunity to deal with it in the moment. I also realize this is a bit odd as a first post but here we are. There will definitely be more sad posts, but also hope to have more sweet/happy ones too. ♥ Melodic
