Not enough people talking about how well broccoli holds a sauce
With what hands?
This looks like a seven or eight word story, depending on if "918 9460410" is rendered with a space or not. Kerning is difficult.

is there any lesbianism in the elena ferrante novels
Maybe I have a really bad memory, but I watched the entire series they made of the novels, because my father really wanted to watch the show. He'd bought the books but never read them.
And my honest impression of the show was that nobody in it was a lesbian... but they really wanted to be. Also drama. So much drama.
I can't say how faithful the show is to the books, but I'm also interested in the answer to the original question.
Iâm trying to find some new shows to watch. Reblog or comment with your favorite TV show of all time? Bonus points if itâs not on the usual top 10 shows (Iâve seen breaking bad and I hated it Iâm sorry)

This will do for a start.
every coffee commercial needs an interracial couple otherwise I'm gonna assume they're siblings
What, they can't be adoptive siblings?
Text that person first. Reach out. Stop waiting for them to "prove" that they like you by reaching out first. You are digging a trench and getting mad at them for not trying to jump it. It's a toxic pattern of behavior and is going to make it even harder to create meaningful, long-lasting relationships. Communicating is hard but you can't plant your feet and demand that everyone come to you all the time. Reach out. Ask how their day is going. Say that you're thinking about them, even if they don't respond. If you create the opening for communication and then they don't make an effort? That's valid grounds to be upset, and they're probably not worth your time. But you have to create the opportunity. It's toxic and immature to put all the impetus of conversation on the other person, and it will end up in a lot of missed connections and opportunities. It's a fast-track to isolation. Text that person first.
I experienced the other side of this, I think...
I happened to notice that some people in my life were never talking to me UNLESS I said something first. And at first I didn't mind this; I was busy, they were busy... life, you know?
But then I noticed something else. These same people WERE talking to other people, organising events together. And they were NOT reaching out to me to see if I'd like to join them. Hell, all one group had to do was take a twenty minute detour to pick me up for a wine tour, because I live on the way to TWO different wine locales. In fact, I'm going to one of them tomorrow. But they never thought to reach out or even tell me about it. I learned about it after the fact, from a social media post.
And that was about when I stopped texting first, at least with them.
Because they were happy to make time in their lives for people, but it was clear they weren't making time for me. As far as I could tell, they were happy to talk to me (unlike how some people will say it feels like the other person isn't interested, etc), but if I didn't speak up first, I wouldn't hear from them.
And that wasn't good enough. Communication is a two way street, and I didn't want to be the only person reaching out.
I don't wish them any ill-will. I hope they're happy, and healthy, and all that.
But I'm worth effort too, and I deserve to see some.
I love this because this is clearly sentai (possibly a sentai parody), and sentai is Japanese. So the villains in sentai do always attack Japan. And from the point of view that sentai is media made in Japan for Japan, that's perfectly fair.
But for some thirty years, sentai was the source for the Power Rangers footage (morphed fights and Zord battles). And so the villains were perhaps attacking Japanese populated places, but these places were now in America.
"They should attack America."
I just about died laughing.
not to be a number nerd on main but 2025 (45^2) will be the only square year most of us ever experience. the last one was 1936 and the next one will be 2116
i very much will be a number nerd on main and the 27th of September will be extra special...
okay eva just wanted to say THIS IS SO COOL???
...since when has 27 been a square number?
so thanks to the jake-as-nothlit post i now imagine what everyone else could be stuck as and i canât stop thinking about what an absolute horror show cassie getting stuck as a yeerk would be
Horrifying, I love it, I have no idea how to write it. Anyone else have ideas?
Erek is able to generate Kandrona rays to keep his Yeerk alive. Having checked The Sickness again, it looks like this fact was completely overlooked as a solution. Cassie explicitly says Aftran will die of Kandrona starvation, with Erek literally right next to her, and Erek doesn't speak up.
And as far as I see, no one else seems to consider that Aftran could get Kandrona from a Chee. It's morphing power or death.
So... Cassie being stuck as a Yeerk is definitely a horror show on some level, but they have options other than "how can we get her to the Yeerk Pool every three days?"
Ever thought about a Freaky Friday AU? What would happen if one of the Animorphs swapped bodies with another character [or even another Animorph]?
I haven't seen Freaky Friday! Any freak fans out there willing to speculate on this one?
Having seen Freaky Friday and Freakier Friday, the general premise is that the bodyswapped characters aren't understanding each other, and having to pose as each other gives them that understanding. In the first one, for example, Tess Coleman doesn't believe Anna Coleman's account of how she's being treated at school until she experiences it herself.
Going off how in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Season 1, Kimberly and Billy undergo a body swap experience in episode 16, and the team finds out relatively soon afterwards, I'm of the opinion any in team body swapping isn't going to be a secret for long. It's not something you keep from the team.
If the switch happens with a character like Tom, Chapman, Alloran, or far too many Yeerks, the end result is total party kill/infestation. I don't quite see a way around that right now.
However.
Given the general premise as established in my opening paragraph... my pick would be post war Jake and Cassie.
I'm pretty sure @thejakeformerlyknownasprince has posted or reblogged something about how their relationship was never going to work post war. And yeah, I have nothing to prove otherwise.
But... I'm of the opinion that the others don't really understand what ending the war cost Jake. They know he sent Rachel to kill Tom, yadda yadda. But knowing isn't understanding. And they don't have to deal with how his parents react to him. Etc.
So if we're opening AU possibilities, I think a Jake Cassie bodyswap post war might help them navigate their way back to a relationship.
Ok follow-up now if you know them well enough: The BSC but now theyâre Animorphs.
I DEFINITELY do not know the Babysittersâ Club well enough to do this one. Itâs been about 20 years since I read the books, and I donât know that I ever read more than 4 or 5 of them. Fellow fandalites who also dove into some of those other paperback 1990s series: any thoughts?
An attempt at the OG four! - Kristy is still the gung-ho leader of the group! After she and her best friends learn about the Yeerk threat, she decides to found the âBaby-sitterâs Clubâ as a front to make it easy for them to meet up stealthily, as well as to observe many of the homes of the high-ranking Yeerk officials who have infested many of the adults of Stoneybrook for mysterious reasons. - Kristyâs little stepsister Karen is Aftranâs host (the name coincidence is TOO GOOD); she starts out as an antagonist, but eventually they team up and get involved with the Peace Movement. Kristy wants to keep Karen out of the war but itâs too late. Aftran sticks around as a nothlit, deciding to become a red-tailed hawk. In fact, many of Kristyâs giant menagerie of âpetsâ are actually members of the YPM! - Claudia is an estreen - her fashion sense and artistic skills appear to apply to her morphing skills, too. Unfortunately, her grades are even worse than in canon, because sheâs fighting so many battles, and it starts to become a real emotional crisis for her, leading to huge falling-outs with her family. - Mary Anne, quiet and gentle, has many moral crises over the fact that she now has to battle and sometimes kill, but her efficiently-organized plans often provide the difficult solutions for the rest of the team. Later in the series, her boyfriend Logan is infested, and he becomes a high-ranking member of the Sharing, pitting them against each other. - Stacy has to balance morphing with diabetes - perhaps she has to strategically hide her insulin syringes and medical equipment before missions so that she can check her blood sugar levels immediately after demorphing? (Would be curious to hear thoughts from people who are more knowledgeable!) Regardless, this is Animorphs, so inevitably, at some point things go badly wrong and she is hospitalized. Between that and her father wanting to move back to New York, she quits the team several timesâŠ. but she when she discovers that the reason that her mother divorced her father was because she was infested by Visser One, she becomes determined to save her, no matter the risks.
For the latest @thejakeformerlyknownasprince ask!
I feel like Dawn is a perfect fit for this AU's Ax equivalent's human morph. She's from California, all the way on the other coast. Anything weird Dax does can be waved off as "Californians aren't like us".
This doesn't mean Sharon and Richard CAN'T get together still, but it would be a different path than in the books. I vaguely considered that perhaps Sharon could be let in on the secret, and foster papers and such could be forged, making Dax a foster Schaefer, but Sharon is so scatterbrained that I don't think it's a good idea.
Initially, I considered making the Pikes the Chee, and therefore, Mallory and Erek were equivalent, with the restrictions Mallory is under as an eleven year old as a vague parallel to the restrictions Erek's programming mandates. But then I considered: that reasoning ALSO applies to Jessi.
So if Jessi becomes Erek, this means Mallory, who yearns to be older, unrestricted, free... to me, Mallory is a decent candidate to trap herself in morph to escape from her life.
Shannon as a David equivalent who starts out badly but escapes David's fate would be an interesting twist on the David storyline, in my opinion.
Which leaves Abby. Who has a twin, Anna. Who is in some ways a better Kristy (which the mysteries vaguely hint at, usually in reference to Abby being a jock).
Abby will want to rescue Anna from the Sharing. Anna, who gave up her violin because Temrash didn't see the point.
It does mean bringing in Abby a lot earlier, but who cares!?
âthis character canât/shouldnât be trans because it doesnât have a purpose or serve their narrativeâ god who the fuck cares. sometimes people are just trans.
âcharacters shouldnât be [minority] unless their [minority status] serves some kind of grand thematically fitting narrative purposeâ tomatoes arenât hard enough booooo đ„„đ„„đ„„đ„„đ„„đ„„đ„„
This reminds me of a couple of weeks back. I've got a story, taking place in a world more or less exactly like ours, and I wanted my character to have a job. The only requirement I had was that the job be one that--if anyone bothered to look things up--could be one that was possible to get according to the when and where of my setting.
I made them a cashier, but they could've been quite a few different things. Beyond "this is how they support themselves", the job didn't matter.
Sometimes a detail is just there. It doesn't serve a grand purpose.
Headcanon: The reason that Sario Rips are so prevalent around the Animorphs is not (just) due to Ellimist shenanigans, but in fact is due to the presence of so many open Z-space connections in one tightly localized area. Certain external factors cause actual bits of Timeline to be pulled along the Z-space connections, which then try to reconnect themselves back to Proper Reality and end up causing a Sario Rip. What do you think?
Interesting idea, and it certainly fits with canon. If the kids morph more than anyone else in the known universe (which they do) and if Ax has heard sario rips are so rare they're legendary (as of #11 anyway), and if he'll then go on to experience three more before the end of the war (which he will)... then it does all fit.
There are four Sario Rips in Animorphs canon?
I only remember two: 11 and MM2.
There are three more instances of time travelling (or what looks like it)--MM3, 41, and MM4--but as far as I understood, these weren't Sario Rips, but external forces (Crayak, some other entity).
So... what am I missing?
80% of the way through 1984, reading on the kindle, and just the sudden shower thought process of:
"hang on. I'm reading this on a kindle." "A kindle from Amazon. As an e-book. From amazon." "Amazon like American Jeff Bezos Amazon." "In the current political climate." "... is this even the original 1984? Has it been EDITED? has it been CHANGED???"
which is very fucking ironic after the last idk 100 pages.
Print copies are superior.
Never should have sold my Famous Five books...
Hi I just watched Onward and cried my eyes out so what I'm saying is Onward but its Ax and Tobias find a way to use Ellimist powers to bring Elfangor back for a day
People who have seen Onward: any ideas?
I have seen it, and while the idea of a half formed Elfangor is hilarious, my first thought is that per Onward's ending, it's Ax who gets to have the moment with the fully formed Elfangor.
Okay... Fun AU ideas... Instead of animal shapeshifting, the not-animorphs ended up being given an experimental piece of Andalite technology that gave them a grab-bag of X-men esque superpowers. (e.g. intangibility, ice generation, psychic abilities, etc, everyone with a different powerset)
This is a fun idea; I just don't know what to do with it. Does anyone else have thoughts?
Hmm....
Rachel gets enhanced strength and invulnerability, obviously. Maybe fangs and claws, maybe armored plates, if you wanna get crazier with it. She's the Tank.
Tobias gets flight, intangibility, and invisibility. Density-shifting, but only one way. He's the spy. The vanishing act. This is the natural extension of that.
Marco I'd make the team's mentalist. Telepathy, maybe telekenisis. He's good at reading people, at playing human chess. It fits the vibes.
I can't see Cassie getting anything but animal empathy. She talks to the critters in the rehab center, they remember her, sometimes they help. Squirrels and mice are great at recon.
Ax gets shapeshifting powers, because how else do you hide a centauriform space alien while balancing guerrilla warfare, homework, and chores?
Jake... Jake's the hard one. He's an Everyman. Him getting powers kind of undermines his character in this context. Maybe he gets enhanced strength and speed, just not at Rachel's level -- really good at punching, but he can't lift a car. I think I'd give him enhanced senses, too. Something that's basically invisible and easy to hide.
Okay, yeah, I actually like that better. Plus, this means he gets to hear Tom screaming and fighting Temrash for control, and can't say anything about it. Beautiful angst there.
So what do we do for Marco, then? Hmmm...
that's a really good question!! hm... a spiderman? the ask does say dc, but the climbing/web spinning/construction power set really lends itself to marco, as does the thematic weight on consequences in spiderman and the tendency for spider people to wisecracking jokesters. it also lends itself to animorphs' darker themes with the association of spiders with manipulation and traps i think
@as21-7
#i am spitballing hsvdhdh but the more i think about it the more i think marco really does Work as a spiderman#esp with how theyd have to adapt it to the terrain of fighting the yeerks-- lay a trap with the webs; maybe help ax and tobias with-#-their tree fort; maybe do something like what real spiders do and lay lines that stretch out to a yeerk pool and listen through the lines#marcos also the one who mentions their morphing outfits being ugly and i think rachel telling him he should spin costumes would be funny#and i am not immune to funny
@imperfectskeleton #jake with enhanced strength and speed makes the basketball team
SAVAGE.
I'd like to offer something completely different for Jake.
Jake gets cryokinetic powers to become Iceman.
