If an object is flying at someone with the intention to do harm to them, their natural instinct is to get out of the way, correct? Correct. This usually frustrated the Lich when he aimed to kill someone, but it was to be expected. He realized that no one would just stand...
Zephyr thought that surely the display of a more advanced attack would throw the other off long enough for him to make a quick getaway and leave the building behind to let it's weight crush the other. He would be back later to look over the corpse and discover if there was anything worth taking - limbs or otherwise. Surely there had to be something.
However, he felt his clothing being pulled back and soon his body followed. Time seemed to move in slow motion as he fell backwards, and his memories got the best of him. All he saw was the cliff, felt himself falling again... Just like he had on that night where everything had changed. The night where he would earn his place as an outcast, the night where his humanity would be ripped away, the night... Where he would no longer be welcomed among the living. And who had gotten him in his present situation? A member of the living. The Lich cursed all members of the living before the roof finally collapsed.
Rage flowed through him and black energy exploded upwards, chunks and pieces of the roof flying upwards and in random directions. All that was left of the shop was... Nearly nothing at all.
Zephyr got to his feet and inhaled, calming himself as he looked out among the crowd of wide eyes belonging to those that had gathered in curiosity. They didn't matter; it was the one who caused this that he wanted dead. He caught sight of a black cloak disappearing around a corner and the Lich scowled deeply as his feet left the ground and he rose into the air after his target. He soared over rooftops until he found the other male, taking aim with his twin needles and firing a volley of black lightning upon him.
