Melodiva is a dorm founded under the resonated feelings of the virtual singers. Sideblog to @tsukikoayanosuke for Project Sekai TWST Fandorm. Mostly filled with music video recording and probably future episode.
A fandorm inspired from Vocaloid and Project SEKAI COLORFUL STAGE! feat. Hatsune Miku

Nobody noticed it at first but then the sense of deja vu set in.
Ten students noticed this and tried to find their way out of this crazy phenomenon.
In this loop, they are known as...the Mekakucity Actors.

You've been to the club building a couple of times, but you never went to the roof. You didn't think it was accessible in the first place. But, this was the only clue you had and there's no harm in trying.
After climbing up some stairs, you finally reached the only door that would lead to the roof. Turning the handle, you found out that it wasn't locked. So, maybe Etsumi was speaking the truth or it is already open since the very beginning.
Opening the door, you were greeted by a gentle breeze. The sky was blue today with white clouds rolling above you. You can barely hear the sound of your fellow schoolmates below, securing this as a peaceful place.
Well, maybe not that peaceful since there was another person on the roof other than you.
Wait.
Isn't that the girl that bump into you yesterday? Could it be that she's the 'Akari Asato' you were looking for?
The girl is dancing through the music that came from her phone on the bench next to a cute gym bag. Her movements were not as smooth as Wakana or the Evolnation idols, perhaps a bit too clunky and jumpy from trying to match the tempo. Her voice, while sounded good, it was rather strained and almost out of breath. Perhaps she had a hard time catching up with her movement.
Shall we dance through the rhythm in our twisted song
Charm the fools to bow upon the throne where we belong
Should I give a damn?
Goddamn! There's no fault of being a little bad-
"-Aah!"
She tripped on her own foot and fell.
A surprised noise escaped your mouth and you ran toward her. "Hey, are you alright?" you asked, leaning down to make sure she wasn't hurt.
The girl looked up, surprised and flustered. Well, you are breaching her spot. "I-I-I-I'm okay!" she said, ending with a nervous chuckle. She did seem like she didn't get scratched or bleeding. You offered up your hand. For a second, she looked confused, but perhaps seeing your smile reassured her. She took your hand and you helped her pull herself up.
"Thank you," she said, patting her pants from any dust.
"No problem," you said, "by the way. Are you Akari Asato by any chance?"
Once again she looked surprised. "Yes?"
You nodded. From your bag, you took out the little blue book. "I believe this is yours."
Her eyes widened as she gasped. "My idol notes!" She took it from your hand excitedly, flipping through the pages to nothing is missing. She let out a sigh, looking at you with her notebook close to her chest. Her smile was so wide and filled with joy. "Thank you. I thought I lost this forever."
You nodded. "No problem. I found it during Wakana's performance in Evolnation."
"Yeah," she nervously chuckled. "I was panicking when I couldn't find it. And I was sure I brought it with me. I had to write my notes on a tissue paper." She perked up. "Oh! I have to copy it now."
She ran to her sports bag and took out a crumpled tissue paper that had been written over, along with a pen. You looked over her shoulder as she knelt in front of the bench and opened an empty page, though you did get a glimpse of her previous notes.
"Do you take notes of every performance?" you asked.
"The best I can at least," she said while she was writing, "though sometimes I get too carried in watching it I forgot all about it." She glanced up toward you with a sheepish smile. "Idol performances are just amazing, right? You just can't take your eyes off them."
You hummed in agreement. You've been there, after all, watching from the earliest Peko and Emma to the recent Wakana and Gregory. The idol charm you've seen from them is noticeable like they're telling you to keep your eyes on them. Perhaps every idol has that.
"So, you want to be an idol too?" you asked.
"Yeah," she chuckled, "but I still have a long way to go."
"Wakana did say your dorm performs a lot. Melodiva, right?"
"Yep. The dorm was founded under the resonated feelings of the virtual singers. Whether you want to be a musical actor, an idol, a producer, or a tavern bard, this is the dorm for you." She sighed. "Though I haven't performed anything just yet."
"Why?"
She looked up to you again. Her smile wasn't as bright as before. "I'm still a beginner. Wakana did say that everyone is allowed to perform, but," she sighed again, "with the performance ranking system, it's kinda daunting."
"Ranking system?"
She reached out to her phone and opened an app to show it to you. Once the music note logo finished loading, you were greeted with the front page. There was a profile picture of Akari along with her dorm member number and a total of something called 'DP'. Below it, there were a few options, like 'setting', 'teams', 'performance schedule', 'in-app messanger', 'recommendation letter', and a few other things.
"So, this is our dorm app," she said, "Our dorm has a system called 'diva points', or DP for short. The diva point is important for looking for the production house we want to apply in. The higher your diva points, the easier you'll get a recommendation. To get diva points, you can join in the dorm performance." She clicked on the 'performance schedule' button and showed a full calendar. Clicking on today's date, you were provided with a list of performers. "We have regular performances every Wednesday and Saturday. Ten teams that have registered before will perform and we're voting for the top three acts. Everyone gets points, but the top three get the higher points."
You hummed as you nodded in understanding. "So every week there are some performances?"
Akari nodded. "And Chiyo-senpai and Yonaga-senpai are always fair in their distribution of the performers. They'll find a way to have us at least perform once in the year."
"So I supposed your turn hasn't come yet?"
Akari chuckled sheepishly again. "No. I'll just wait for my turn." She sighed again. "It's not like they want to see an amateur like me."
There was something in Akari's words that tugged something inside of you. You've heard that one before, you've felt that at least once in your life; of being hesitant and afraid, holding yourself back despite wanting to do something in fear of everyone would laugh at you. It was an awful feeling. Looking at Akari, it seems that she was in the same position as you were back then. Perhaps some words of encouragement might help her.
Thus, you said, "I wouldn't mind seeing you perform."
She turned to you, surprised. "You would?"
You smiled at her. "I'll be in the front seat."
Akari gasped. Her eyes widened with the twinkle of adoration. Her smile widened and giggled. "Okay!" She clapped her hands. "I'll register now!"
"Wait, now?"
She reached for her phone and went through the registration process. "I won't be assigned until I get a message from the admin. Once I did, I can schedule for my practice schedule." She grinned at you. "I can't disappoint my audience, can I?"
You couldn't help but smile at her. "I know you'll try your best."
She blushed. "Eh he... This will be my debut. I can't mess it." Her phone suddenly pinged. "Oh, a message from the admin."
"That was quick."
"It said: meet us before the weekly performance." She turned to you. "I don't know what this means."
"Maybe they just want to talk to you for early direction. You said it'll be your debut, right?"
"That's true..." she hummed. She slowly nodded. "Okay. I'll meet them."
"I can go with you."
"Huh? You would?"
You smiled at her. "If you need someone, you know, for emotional support, I don't mind."
She was quiet for a while before blushing again. "Thank you. That'll be great."

Previously I wanted to include every 3DMV available in the game, however, I realized it was too big of a job and it worn out quickly.
Now, I’ve decided to only record the 3DMV that has Hatsune Miku featured in it or have the characters’ solo cover song. In addition, I’ll be updating per event rotation. Currently we only have the First Rotation collection (all chosen 3DMV until September 2021).
The list is shorter, yes, however I’s satisfied with it being more organized.
Also, yes. The grouping is a reference to Project Diva X.
Characters (in order of appearance): Sena Yuri ( @mcpiejeff27 ), Ami Yamamoto, Ryoba Miyuka ( @luvkamishiro ), Touma Hinata, Macie Gumeron ( @fumikomiyasaki )
I originally want to post this before new years, but things happened. But, in the end, we did it!
I don't know where to put this in the Melodiva timeline. Maybe post-Overblot? But who knows.
You beg for life, dissecting thoughts and whys and
You search for lies within this overtime but
You learn and you know them, building a person
Is justice really blind?
Happy Halloween from the Melodiva kids!

Now that we have eight OCs in this dorm (this video was created before Masaki arrived), I’ve decided to put the current OCs into the Enstars’s Tell Your World cover because I’m obsessed with that.
This can be count as the theme song for the Episode 0: Prelude of a Happy World or just a fun special cover video.
The story of Torpe the Pianist wasn't the worst thing you've read, nor is it the best. It was a simple children's story, nothing very offensive. It was really easy for you to change all the necessary things for your assignment. You were done in just a few hours and decided to call it for the night (in the contrast to Soren who probably was going to pull an all-nighter).
Turning in your bed, you saw the blue notebook on your nightstand. A sigh escaped your nose. You really need to give back the book to Akari Asato tomorrow. The thing was you don't even know what they looked like. At least Wakana confirmed that they were from Melodiva, so if you were very desperate you could just drop it off after dinner, just to make sure they are at the dorm around that time. Hopefully, Akari Asato wasn't too worried about their missing book and whatever was written in it. You haven't opened it, of course, just basic manners.
"Stop thinking already." Shifting your gaze toward Rouge who was on your study desk. "You're disturbing my beauty sleep."
"You can't read my thought," you muttered.
"Yeah, but your face is scrunching too much it's annoying." He rolled his eyes. "You look like a simping teenage girl."
Your face immediately turned red. "Why would you say that?!"
"Well, I'm not the one who is still thinking about pretty idols." Rouge's tone was so smug that you wondered if throwing a pillow at them would shut them up. "Is this your fantasy coming true? Or was that Wakana girl your dream girl type?"
"Who said I was thinking about Wakana?" you spat, honestly still embarrassed.
"Well, clearly it's not someone from Evolnation because you never reacted like this. What love at first sight?"
You did end up throwing your pillow at Rouge, but the damn book floated away.
Wakana is just a regular idol, just like Peko and the rest. Sure, she was warm and entrancing and a little bit pushy and gives you the tingles, but she's still a student, just like you and everyone else-
"Don't get too horny over there."
You turned your back against the cackling book with your face still madly blushing. "Goodnight, Rouge!"

Morning came, classes came and went, and finally, the bell rang. School was over and everyone is packing to return to their dorm. You, meanwhile, were still cleaning your writing supplies and books filled with notes. You didn't even realize someone approached your seat until they tapped your table.
"Hey."
Looking up, you saw someone with quite a feminine figure. Flowing black hair with traces of blue, bright orange eyes, and a friendly smile. You tried to rack your brain for a name, but it seemed that you can't come up with something.
"That diary," they pointed at the blue notebook, "are you going to return that to the owner?"
"You know who this belongs to?" you asked back.
"Yeah," they said again, "Asato-chan has been in quiet distress all night. That book is really precious to her."
You held back a winch. "I didn't mean to make her worried. I found it and..."
"Whoa, chill, dude," the student waved their hands in an attempt to calm your crawling guilt, "nobody here is blaming you. But if you do want to return it, you can go to the clubhouse's roof."
"Clubhouse...you mean the club building?"
"Yeah, that's what I said," they said with a shrug. "When school is over, Asato-chan often goes to the clubhouse's roof for her idol practice routine. It's like a secret place for her."
"If it's a secret then how do you know?"
"I'm an esper."
What?
They giggled. "Just kidding. I'm just very observant." They then turned around. "Well, my job here is done."
"Wait." You stood up from your chair. "Can I catch your name?"
They looked back, smiling teasingly. "I never throw it at you." She chuckled. "But it's Etsumi."
You nodded, smiling. "Thank you, Etsumi."
They shrugged again and walked away. You let out a sigh of relief. At least now you know where you are heading. You can only hope that Akari Asato is currently on said roof for you to find.
Unlike usual TWST-style storytelling, we’re more close to Project Sekai-style with main story and character events as continuation. However, we’ll be keeping some TWST elements, like overblot. Thus, this is more of a visual novel than a short story.

Sometimes you forget how big the Hourglass Station Academy's cafeteria is. With various students getting in line to get their meal for the night, it appeared that you would have a hard time finding the student named 'Akari Asato'. Even if you wanted to ask around, it would take too long, possibly more than dinner time.
"Hey." You turned toward Soren who sat across your table, a plate of chili on the bowl and bread on the side (as if it was proof that he can eat anything except chilidog). "Are you looking for someone?"
"Kinda," you said as your hand reached for the blue book. "Hey. Do you know anyone named Akari Asato?"
"Eh?" He hummed for a bit before shaking his head. "Nope. Never heard of her."
You sighed and nodded. It wasn't a big surprise. What ended up being a surprise was how focused Soren was with the paper with only a single 'The' on it instead of eating his chili that was probably gone cold by this point since he hadn't touched it? "What are you working on?" You decided to ask. "I've never seen you work so hard."
Soren let out a groan. "Did Mister Blossom give you any story homework?"
Oh. "Yes, just today."
"It was due tomorrow for my class." Soren let out another groan. "I don't know what to write!"
"Can't you just grab something from the internet and changes the name?" you asked.
"He warned us that he would know!" Soren shouted. "I swear he meant that. I heard from a senior that their friend didn't do their homework once and Mister Blossom would let them do it. Like, really, they're allowed to do it. But Mister Blossom pulled a chair, sat in front of them, and just stared at the kid for the entire hour until they were done. Can you imagine how scary that might be?!" He bowed his head and gripped his spiky blue hair. "I'm not going through that!"
That sounded scary honestly. Maybe you should make yours early just to make sure you didn't forget. "How about we find something in the library?" you suggested. "Maybe we can pick up something from there."
Soren rolled his eyes. "You kidding me? Nobody ever goes to the library..." But then it dawned on him and the slow nodding accelerated. "Which is perfect! You have to help me, Y/N! I'm too slow for this!"
You nodded. If Soren is this serious, then it would be the best idea to finish the assignment as soon as possible.
.
.
=|Library|=
The library was quiet like it usually is. Not many people came here as Soren had mentioned, perhaps it was because dinner time was still ongoing. But homework couldn't wait any longer. You are in a time crunch. But...
"Argh... We're wasting our time!" Soren threw his head up as he slammed a tablet onto the table. "It'll take forever to find something!"
You sighed and put back a tablet. Maybe you're looking in the wrong place. But the library is huge. Honestly, it was hard enough to pick where to start. "I'll look over the book section," you said as you walked away. The book section was even bigger and quieter than the tablet part, perhaps because they need more space to archive them.
As you wanted to peak a corridor, you let out an "Eh?"
There was someone there already, sitting on the floor with books surrounding them. Someone with blond hair and golden-sunset eyes, focusing on reading the book on their lap. Once in a while, they would stop and pick up a pencil to write in a journal that he placed on a stack of books like a makeshift table.
Eventually, they looked up, probably noticing you looking at them for a long time. They smiled so brightly as if he was in a toothpaste commercial. "Hello there!" Even their voice is loud enough for an obnoxious TV commercial. "I've never seen you here before."
You shook your head. "I'm looking for the story section. Do you know where it is?"
"Story- Oh! Well..." they gestured around gestured. "It's here. This is the play and script section! Some children's books are here as well."
Oh. Guess mission completed, then. "Thank you. You don't mind if I call my friend here?"
"Yeah. Sure! The more the merrier!"
It didn't take you long to call Soren to the corridor. He looked like he would melt from relief. Picking up the closest one, he glanced through the thin book. It was a children's storybook, but it was something.
Looking back to the person, they was back with their own project. Maybe it was pure curiosity but you approached them, kneeling next to his stack of books. "Are you working on your homework too?"
"Huh?" They looked up. "Oh, no. I'm looking for inspirations for my screenplay."
"Screenplay?" Soren walked up behind you. "Like theater? Are you in the drama club with that weird Flynn guy?"
"I am actually!" They beamed up. "I'll be the greatest star in the world and everyone will know the name Touma Hinata!"
Touma Hinata... A bright name for a bright boy.
"But I just like writing screenplays," he said, shifting in his seat so he could face you and picking up some of the books around him. "Inspiration can come from anywhere and the best thing to learn is from previous shows. Like this one!" He picked up a book with a scary-face potato on the cover. "The Potato Ghost."
His tone lowered and his face morphed into a more extravagant scary story narrator. "It is the most dreadful night of the year: Halloween. Unknown to the children who are wandering about in the festive amusement park, some creatures don't like the excitement. The potato zombies... From the ground of the park, they spring out like potatoes and terrorize everyone! But one person stands up against them. The park director! He's a great diplomat and always wants everyone to feel the joy of Halloween. So, he makes a deal with the zombies: if they can perform a spectacular show, then they're allowed to have fun together. The zombies agree and perform the most amazing tap dance! Everyone cheers and accepts the zombies! So, now, every Halloween at the theme park, there will always be a special performance from the zombies!"
You and Soren exchanged looks. You two definitely weren't expecting a sudden storytelling session. But one thing about the boy was he was pretty expressive and know when the dramatic kicks needed to be emphasized like he was already doing this for a long time.
"Any other story you have?" you asked.
"Yep!" Touma picked another book. This time it has two silhouettes with capes having a sword fight on the cover. "Romeo: The Battle Royale. It's supposed to be a parody of Romeo and Juliet, but it is filled with more action! Two childhood friends, a gardener and a princess separated because of class status, but the love between them blooms through the age. When the princess reaches the age of marriage, there held a competition for her hand. The gardener joins in, facing the other eight 'Romeos' and won! It ends with the most heartfelt proposal scene! As the sun set to end a day of fierce battle, Romeo knelt down in front of his beloved and spoke..."
Suddenly, he shifted again, now positioning himself to kneel in front of you, and grabbed one of your hands.
"Eh?"
"Dude," Soren raised an eyebrow, "what are you doing?"
And with the most dramatic flair, an imaginary sparkling spotlight shone above him, he spoke with a prince-like voice, "Aah, fair Juliet! My sun! O how I beg for the exchange of thy love's faithful vow for mine!"
"What the heck?" Soren shouted. "I know theater kids who are less dramatic than you!"
Touma laughed as he let go of your hand. "An actor should be able to act anywhere anytime!"
You couldn't help but chuckle. His laughter was quite infectious. You tapped one of the books, the one with a single old wooden piano on the cover.
Touma tilted his head. "Oh, that." This time there was no loud dramatic movement. It was rather mellow, almost soft. He picked up the book, a small smile on his face. "That's the story of Torpe the Pianist. Torpe is a great and kind pianist but is rather shy though. He dreams to be able to play in the orchestra. One day, he's approached by a conductor who offers him a spot in an audition next week to join his orchestra. Of course, Torpe accepts, but still playing in front of so many people is a challenge. So, he practices hard, but playing in public appears to be a daunting task. That's until he's approached by two squirrel sisters who ask him to play at their party. Being a kind-hearted person, Torpe agrees to help them. After that, however, more forest animals come to request his musical talent and he can't deny them. For the rest of the week, Torpe spends it helping the animals that he forgets to practice. When the day of the audition arrives, the nervous Torpe plays his piece and is met with rounds of applause. It is only then Torpe realizes that the animals he helped actually help him play in public. So, as his encore, he plays his favorite song as his gratitude for the forest animals."
It was rather interesting. From loudness to quietness, his range was rather wide, perhaps it was because he was a self-proclaimed actor. But something about the smile lingers a bit in your mind, something that you need to remember. Torpe the Pianist...
"Can I have that book?" you asked. "For homework."
"Of course!" The loudness and the bright smile returned. "If you need anything, I can show you around!"
"Thank you," you said. "We'll be going now."
Touma waved his hand as you and Soren walked away.
"He's so weird," Soren whispered to you. You elbowed his stomach gently. Touma Hinata didn't sound weird just... really dramatic.

"Michaela, you’re amazing!"
"Pulse, you’re the best!"
The cheering did not die down even after minutes, overwhelmed excitement in the air. Both Gregory and Wakana stood on the stage, looking up to the crowd with twinkling eyes. They look amazing...
Something you've learned in your days in this academy, especially about idols, was how different everyone might be when they took the central stage. You've seen many of them performed in front of your eyes; how Peko seems so free and easy-going like floating clouds or how Emma makes you want to scream and burst like a flame or how Gregory has this alluring pull within his loudness.
When Wakana took center stage, it had a different feel as well. It feels like sunshine and rainbow, very cheerful and bouncy. It made your heart race and your lips tugged upward. You felt giggles bubbling inside and wanted to let out from all the pure joy you felt. You gripped your glowsticks tightly in your hands as you waved them along with the rhythm. There was no shame, there was no fear. All you wanted was to sing and dance with the girl on the stage in this new world she had created just for the two of you. She looks beautiful...
"Woo-hoo!" Gregory cheered, pumping his fist into the air. "That was awesome! Isn't that right guys?" The crowd cheered in agreement. He turned back to Wakana. "Thank you for being here, Michaela!"
Wakana giggled. "You're welcome, Pulse. Maybe you should come to my dorm one day." She glanced at the crowd and winked. "Special performances every week~"
Gregory laughed. "I'll be waiting for the invitation then!" He turned back to the crowd. "Well, that's all folks! Thank you for coming to this special performance and we'll see you next time."
As Gregory and Wakana's waved their hands to the sea of applause, the world shifted. You were stuck on your spot as the glowsticks in your hand disappeared. Looking down at your hands, you noticed your fingers were trembling. Your heart was still racing as well to the point you thought it might burst out of your chest. But that didn't make any sense. You've seen idols performing many times in this school, why was this one left a massive impression on you? But it wasn't just you. The crowd was still buzzing in astonishment. All newcomers and loyal customers were still talking about the special guest.
"I knew Michaela is a great idol, but holy shit, that was good."
"Her real name is Wakana Chiyo, right? She's the Melodiva Dorm Leader too, isn't she?"
"I'm converting to her fan club!"
"We should visit the dorm too!"
Shifting your gaze to the stage, you saw Peko along with some familiar faces were congratulating Gregory and Wakana. Everyone looked so happy and proud. A female student approached Wakana, carrying a small bouquet of colorful tulips. "Ex-Excuse me!" she squeaked, making Wakana turn to her. The student ducked her head and put out the bouquet. "This is for you!"
Wakana's smile widened. "Oh, this is lovely." she took the bouquet, bringing it close to her nose to sniff the sweet smell. "Thank you so much!" The student blushed and nodded before scurrying away shyly.
Gregory laughed, patting Wakana's back. "Got another fan in your pocket?"
Wakana chuckled. "Seems like it."
"I don't blame that girl," Peko said. "It was an incredible performance! You two rocked on stage!"
"No doubt!" Gregory puffed out his chest proudly.
"Thank you so much, Peko," Wakana said. Her eyes glanced at you for a second before speaking again. "Give me a moment, okay?"
Peko nodded and Wakana walked toward you. It was like a scene in a movie... The leading star from the grandest stage skipped through the crowd, a bouquet in her hands, toward the main character.
She stopped in front of you with gleaming teal eyes. "So, what do you think?"
"Me?" you pointed at yourself.
Wakana nodded. "Did my feeling reach you?"
"We’ll show the world our true feeling." She said that, didn't she? You look down your hands again. It wasn't trembling like before, but the ghostly sensation was still there. Only a very special performance from someone you gave out their true feelings can make you, or anyone, feel that way. "I..." you curled your fingers. You couldn't help but smile at her. "I guess it did."
Wakana beamed while doing animated hand gestures. "Yatta! That's one more victory in my book!"
Oh! That reminded you of something.
"Hold on, Wakana." You excused yourself and walked toward the Evolnation Dorm Leader. "Peko."
The girl turned to you. "Yeah?"
You took out the book that you had since you stepped into the dorm. "I found this in front of the elevator," you said, showing the item toward Peko to take. "I thought I can give it to you."
Gregory looked over from Peko's shoulder as she opened the book. Peko blinked in an almost surprised manner while Gregory whistled. What was inside the book? Peko closed the book and looked at the cover again. "'Akari Asato'?" she read the name on it out loud. "I don't think we have an Evolnation student with that name." Gregory also shrugged, didn't have any clue. Peko gave the book back to you. Now, what should you do with it?
"Did you say 'Akari Asato'?" The three of you turned to Wakana who just joined in. "Oh! She's from my dorm, actually."
"Really?" you asked.
"Yeah. A sweet girl, just need a little bit push," she said with a sigh on the last part, but she didn't sound disappointed for one thing.
"Oh, so I'll give it to you for her?" you asked, offering the book.
Wakana hummed, a finger tapping her cheek and one hand propped her other elbow. But then, something in her eyes sparkled and the corner of her lips tugged up. "How about you give it to her yourself?"
"Eh? Me?"
"Yeah." Wakana nodded. "If I'm the one giving to her, she might feel intimidated. But, by a fellow student, she might respond better. You don't mind right?"
It actually makes sense. You nodded. "Alright, I'll give it to her."
Wakana smiled. "Thank you so much, dear VIP!"
Well, it wasn't the first time you play as the delivery service.
Perhaps because you were standing close to Wakana and Gregory, you could join them in their short preparation for their performance. The student who was in charge of the sound design today was the horned student Fuyuhiko. He turned some switch on the sound system as Wakana tapped her clip-on ear microphone.
"Ah, ah. Mic, okay?" she said no longer winching from any sudden buzz like earlier. She nodded in satisfaction. "Sound good."
"Alright." Fuyuhiko let go of the switch before going back to pressing some buttons. "The music is set and everything is good to go." He glanced back at them, an unimpressed deadpan on his face. "Though it would be better if you two would practice with it first."
You let out a confused looked as you look at the two idols. "You two haven't rehearsed it?" you found yourself asking.
"Nope." Gregory grinned. "We're doing it freestyle."
"Though this is a pretty famous song," Wakana added, "so we know the choreography by heart."
You blinked slowly and shook your head. Improvisation was not a rare occurrence in performance, but usually, they had rehearsed it a least once. Even a spontaneous show host had their flip cards to practice in front of a mirror. Going in wild was usually the last thing they shouldn't be doing, even if they were professional.
"Are you sure?" you asked again.
Gregory shrugged nonchalantly as if he wasn't going to perform in front of hundreds of people. "Well, there's no backing out now, is it?" Glancing at Fuyuhiko who nodded at him and Peko who stood by the stage with a thumb up, he nodded with a grin. "Alright. It's showtime."
He ran onto the stage as the crowd cheered, raising a fist into the air. "Good afternoon, Evolnation!" The crowd went wild. Gregory looked from one side of the room to the other. "Man, what a crowd! Bet I know why all of you come here." Stepping aside slightly from the center of the stage, he stretched out his hand to the side. "Well, come on up, Michaela!"
As the crowd went wild again, Wakana was about to step onto the stage, but he glanced at you for a moment with a soft almost wistful look. "Watch us, okay?" she said to you. "We'll show you our true feeling."
She said it again. And once again your heart was pounding harder. Was it excitement or dread? You wouldn't understand it now.
Wakana leaped onto the stage, waving her arms above her head to the crowd. "Hello, beautiful world!" The crowd's cheers and squeals became louder.
"Welcome to Evolnation, Michaela," Gregory said, moving closer to his singing partner.
"Good to be here, Pulse," Wakana responded, "Though what are we doing today?"
"We do like we always do best: sing until the world explodes!" Gregory shouted, raising a fist into the air, followed by waves of laughter and cheers.
Wakana giggled. "Wow, until the world explodes? I'm in. Let's take this into another world, shall we? We don't want to charge us for collateral damage."
Gregory nodded excitedly. "Oh! Good idea!"
As he stepped back and Wakana stepped forward, she brought her hand close to her chest. "Everyone, hold on tight! We shall take you into a brand new world." Magic gathered in her hand into a colorful ball.
["Melody of a thousand connections, pixelized into a new creation!"] she chanted. The magic in her grasp started to flutter around her. If you look closer, you could see a musical bar as the lights' tail. Wakana snapped her eyes opened and jumped, shouting, ["World is Mine!"] She threw her hands into the air and magic burst throughout the room. The room seemed to enlarge, in fact, you don't feel like you were standing in the cafe anymore. The light inside dimmed and turn neon green like those futuristic themes you've seen many times. The stage turned into a concrete street as skyscrapers that reached the sky rose behind the two performers. You felt your hands slightly itchy. Wakana's magic had touched your palm and formed into a long object. When it burst, you were now holding two glow sticks of teal and purple.
"This is so awesome! A whole new world just for this!" Gregogy stood side-by-side with her again while the crowd hadn't stopped their awed gasps, and to be honest, so was you. It was incredible how these amazing unique magics everyone had can bring forth unimaginable spectacles.
"Well, a special performance would need a special stage." Wakana giggled, looking proud at herself. "Speaking of, shall we sing, Pulse?"
"You got it, Michaela!" Gregory nodded. He turned to the crowd again. "Everyone, put your glowsticks in the air!"
As the crowd raised their new glowsticks, Wakana and Gregory took position on the new stage. You acutely noticed Peko giving a nod to Fuyuhiko as he turned on the music, but your eyes were still drawn toward the two performances on stage. With the glowsticks held tightly into your hands, you waited in anticipation as the music started.
Someone new entered the room. They have turquoise eyes and pigtails that extend down to their knees held with black and red square-shaped ribbons. They wore a collared white sleeveless blouse, a teal tie, dark grey separated sleeves that fan out near the wrists, a grey thigh-length skirt with teal trim, and thigh-high boots.
And the crowd went wild.
"Oh my gosh, it's really her!"
"Michaela-chan!"
"Can I have your autograph?"
"Please, step on me, queen!"
You couldn't help to blink in astonishment at the newcomer who already surrounded by many students. Must've been a very famous person then. Maybe another idol? Why else Evolnation would invite someone random and give out this large of a stage presence.
"Quiet a storm, isn't it?" Sylvette leaned toward you with a giggle. "It's not really a surprise. She's quite popular."
And yet you don't know who she is. But at this point, you aren't that much surprised. Being transported from another world does that to you. But it was still quite cool to be in one school with so many idols.
"Ah! Wakana!"
A blur of yellow, purple, and pink could be seen rushing to the new idol. Gregory almost quickly. A big dude like him was effective to push the crowd as Peko and Faye greeted the teal-haired idol. A hand nudged your side and you turned to Sylvette. She smiled at you and then glanced at the group before going back to you. Oh, we should join them then. Plus you need to know the newcomer.
"I'm so glad you can come," Peko said, wide smile and shaking the idol's hand by the time you and Sylvette arrived there.
"Thanks for having me here," the tealnette smiled. "Ah, I really want to take Macie-chan here, but she refuses."
"Aw, that's too bad," Peko sighed. "I really hope we can be good friends though."
"I doubt that," Gregory whispered at you, already securing the crowd. "It'll be like her and Emma all over again." You hummed. Yeah, you don't think you need another fiasco like last time.
The idol then glanced up at you. "Oh, I know you!" she said. Letting go of Peko's hand she walked toward you, leaning slightly but still keeping her distance as if you're a fascinating object. "You're the famous kid from Tetravania, aren't you? So, glad to finally meet a VIP like you."
Wow. You're also a famous person, huh? "Uh, thanks...?" you said, trying to be polite, "I'm not a VIP though."
She giggled. "Aw, don't look down at yourself," she said, fingers on her chin and left hand propping her right elbow. "You've helped many dorms after all. Give yourself a credit."
Ah, you did, didn't you? But still. Listening to someone actually praising you might be a bit embarrassing. Even you're cheeks started to dust pink. "Thank you, uh..." You blinked. What is her name again?
The idol tiled her head. "Oh, I haven't introduced myself, have I?" She giggled again before stepping back and clearing her throat. With one hand on her chest and the other opened toward you, she spoke with all spotlight shining down at her, bringing the world's, and your, attention toward her.
"My name is Wakana Chiyo, dorm leader of Melodiva. Or you might know me as Michaela."
Maybe it was her soft bright smile or her cheerful soothing voice, you couldn't pinpoint it. But you know you were drawn to her. If the world around you was a dark galaxy, then the idol - Wakana, ah, you know her name now - is the brighter star that shines through the darkness and pulls you into a brand new world.
"It's..." you cleared your throat, trying to gain your composure. "It's wonderful to meet you as well."
Wakana giggled again. "Pleasure is mine, dear VIP. You should visit Melodiva sometime. We can get to know each other some more."
Melodiva? "Is that your dorm?"
Wakana nodded. "Yeah. I said earlier that I'm the dorm leader, didn't I?"
"Ah... sorry," you said, rubbing the back of your head.
Wakana shook her head. "It's okay. We're all distracted sometimes."
"Melodiva is almost similar to Evolnation," Peko pipped up, "while Evolnation is for full-fledged idols, Melodiva is for those in-training and is kinda a scouting ground for many production houses. But there are full-fledged idols there as well, like Wakana here, even becoming mentors for the younger members."
"It's possible to have two idol dorm?" you asked.
"There's not a problem," Wakana said, "after all, music connects our world."
"And with music, come collaborations," Faye added. "During my idol career, I've done a couple of collaborations, whether with other idols or advertisement, and more often than not become a huge hit. That's the idea for this special performance."
"And it looks like it might be a huge success," Peko looked around proudly. "How about we start the show?"
"Right." Gregory grinned, both hands on his hips and chest puffed out. "Let's give them the best crossover, Michaela."
"Let's sing, Pulse," Wakana nodded, equally excited, "We'll show the world our true feeling."
True feeling...
You can feel your heart pounding in your chest. Yeah, you can't want for the show to start.
