Can we talk about how weird it is to see people who didn’t watch the stream, stopped watching the stream months ago, have never watched the stream, don’t know very much about the stream talk about what supposedly happened on the stream last night? I knew the Jester discourse was going to be a garbage fire of bad takes, but seeing twitter randoms play a literal game of Narrative Telephone has been the most confusing and annoying thing to watch in all of this.

EDIT: Also a lot of the more rancid takes are because of distorted second and third-hand retellings of what went down.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again as much I love the cast of CR they need to step back and away from the fandom. All of them are way to hands on and way to ingrained with their fans online. All of that was cool when you were a smaller piece of media but that’s not the case anymore. Talks can continue but no more questions from fans I think the fan art of the week and cosplay of the week should also go because it’s just made the community way more toxic. The art books should be done by professional artists as well as the official art.

None of this is the casts fault it’s ours as fans all we’ve done is complain and turn any nice thing they try to do against them. Still like fan art and even continue the art gallery but make people submit their art to you and none of the casts is picking art completely separate from the casts themselves. A lot of people think they know the casts and these characters better then the actual players and I feel like it’s because they’ve been indulged the casts has liked their tweets and their fan art. No other form of media does this even YouTubers and streamers after so long stop interacting with their fans so heavily and most aren’t nearly as big as CR. I think the cast needs to step back I think it would be better for everyone including them.

Even after the delicious cocoa Veth was tossing and turning in her bed. She always liked talking with Caleb, but tonight.

They haven't talked about the kiss. And it has been weeks and weeks. No answer was a kind of answer though, wasn't it? Of course he wouldn't be interested in her. No matter whether Nott or Veth, she was not pretty and not brave and not smart, and just not. And he was still carrying a torch for Astrid. She could see the way he looked at her at the dinner. And that cute shy flirting he was doing with Jester when he thought no one was noticing it. And all those complicated feelings he had towards Essek. With people like these around why would he want to notice poor little Veth. And really, what was she even thinking. To have such a kind and understanding husband like Yeza and not appreciating him. She must be out of her mind. All those feelings must have been because she was a goblin at the time. She will just get over herself.   Despite how inappropriate it was, Nott the Brave, goblin, adventurer could be in love with handsome and capable wizard Caleb Widogast. Veth Brenatto, halfling, mother, wife couldn't. Shouldn't. Mustn't. She would just focus more on her family and being there for her friends when they needed her. She should appreciate what she had. And not chase after stupid little feelings and wants in her heart. She would dedicate herself to more important things. And she would make sure Caleb ended up with someone who made him happy. That would be enough for her.

Having made up her mind, Veth rolled over in her bed. Sleep soon found her and no matter how many what-could-have-beens her dreams showed her, she chose not to pay them any attention in the morning.

I don’t think i’m ever going to be over Veth’s design.

“I’ll give you 75, you handsome wizard” made me think about Nott and how she shows affection through gift-giving, and more specifically, gift-giving to protect and supply the ones she loves. Every time she sees her husband, she gives him more and more money, to the point where it flusters him to see so much and know that she is able to give it to him. Maybe it’s to show off. Maybe it’s to apologize for being gone so often, or prove that what she’s doing is worth the time away. But I think Veth thinks that money can protect her family while she’s gone. Money can keep them safe and make things easier on them, and buy them the things she isn’t around to give to them. Of course she would want to give them a surplus! And Caleb, she gives him money like it doesn’t matter to her. This was a trend in early game, especially, when they were usually broke, but it comes out in other times, like when Caleb requested 50g and she gave him 75g. What was the point of that? He only needed less than 50g and he told her he would return the change. But she responded by giving him 75 and telling him to keep the rest. Just like with Yeza, she wants Caleb to know that she can provide for him, protect him, give him the things he needs to take care of himself. She wants him to know that she has plenty and that he can always come to her first for whatever he needs. Nott’s love language is gift-giving, and Yeza and Caleb are the people who Nott needs to understand her love the most. In this essay I will
