Completing the Internet Marketing Masters Program at Full Sail University has been a milestone in my career.
Honestly I was surprised at how much I already knew about each of the topics. That’s what’s unique about taking on a topic at the Master’s level. At the Master’s level one is not being introduced to the fundamentals on the topic, but developing new insight for application to solve new problems.
In Robert Greene’s Mastery, he writes, ““The future belongs to those who learn more skills and combine them in creative ways.” (Greene, R. (2012). Mastery. New York: Viking).
This course, on Internet marketing, broke the topic down into 10 fundamental areas for deeper inspection. In the final class we were required to put all of the concepts together for formulate a cohesive Internet Marketing Plan for our case history company.
I leave this course with confidence in my ability to adapt to an industry that is more like a living organism that grows and changes, than a science set in stone.
There are many resources that I discovered as I dug deeper into each topic that I will continue to use throughout my career. I am very blessed to be working with a start up company that is growing exponentially because the founder is a young man that is very knowledgeable and experienced in Internet Marketing. We are like David among not one, but many giants. Our understanding and ability to act on knowledge about internet marketing has the giants either scrambling to keep up with us, or courting a partnership with them to provide them with what they lack in knowledge of Internet marketing. Being a part of this is very exciting, but feeling confident to join the leadership team of this company is priceless.
Thank you to the pioneers of IM that taught me about this industry before I ever embarked on this journey of Mastery with Full Sail University (Alex Mandossian, Terry Dean, Jeff Herring, Armand Morin, and many others whose name doesn’t come to mind right now).
Thank you to the instructors who gave constructive and insightful feedback for improvement. And, thank you for the many words of encouragement and confidence that validated my learning experience.
