Appearance
Melody is slightly shorter than most demonesses, who average around 5 '5. She possesses a noticeably curvier build, most prominent in her chest area. Like all Beriths, she has golden hair and jet-black eyes. Her hair falls in rose-like curls and maintains a natural sheen.
Unlike other demons, Melody lacks full wings. Shortly after birth, during a severe emotional breakdown, her mother tore them out. Only half of the wing stems remain.
Her tail is black rather than the typical red. Instead of a heart-shaped tip, it ends in a rounded flower shape capable of gripping small objects. She keeps it hidden beneath clothing.
Her teacher uniform matches the standard Babyls design, though her skirt is slightly shorter to allow mobility for combat. Instead of purple, her uniform is black and instead of the horn decoration in the cape it's horseshoes.
Her heels contain ceremonial alloyed osmium horseshoes heavy, durable, and capable of leaving a metallic imprint when she walks.
Personality
Melody appears cold, disciplined, and emotionally distant. In truth, she is deeply romantic, observant, and quietly affectionate.
Despite constantly seeing fragments of possible futures, she chooses to act based on the current present.
She enjoys cute fashion, dresses, and handmade gifts. She carefully memorizes others’ preferences and often leaves anonymous presents.
However, her girlish personality does not weaken her. She is capable of harsh discipline and devastating physical force if required.
Romantically, she is deeply inexperienced not due to personal restriction, but because she has never witnessed open affection within her family. While her clan practices arranged marriages, all unions occurred before her birth, and expressions of intimacy between couples are kept strictly private. As a result, she grew up without exposure to visible romantic dynamics.
She understands partnership as a concept of duty and alliance, but not emotional nuance. Subtle gestures, flirtation, and indirect signals often go over her head. If she were to pursue someone, she would likely approach the matter with serious sincerity and direct intention, though her composed demeanor makes her feelings difficult to read.
Storyline
All Berith members are traditionally male, born with golden hair and black eyes. Their bloodline ability is passed from father to son.
Melody is the first female Berith ever born.
Her birth caused political turmoil. Her mother, overwhelmed by pressure and resentment, harmed Melody and later disappeared. Her father vanished shortly after.
The Berith President discovered Melody's brother's and newborn self near starving and abandoned; he then took personal responsibility for raising them. The incident is never spoken of within the clan.
Melody and her brothers are extremely close. Canto, now chief, fulfills a maternal role among them.
Bloodline Ability : Truth Seeking
An always active ability by making eye contact, a Berith can see : Fragments of the past, present emotional states and probable future outcomes
Limitations : Futures are not fixed, only the strongest probability is visible. Outcomes shift based on decisions and chaotic variables, Beriths cannot see anything involving another Berith, mana depletion severely reduces clarity and complete mana exhaustion results in near blindness.
It is rumored that Beriths lack souls due to their black lifeless eyes. This is false, their eyes just happen to look like that.
Abilities
War Zone (High Difficulty) : Within a 15 meter radius, enemy defense weakens and mana gradually drains. The area becomes tinted red.
Time Out (High Difficulty) : Temporarily halts time for several seconds depending on mana reserves. Leaves Melody nearly exhausted.
Silencer (Medium Difficulty) : Summons black hands for restraint or utility tasks.
Galloping : Can run up to 71 km/h. Delivers devastating equestrian-style kicks.
The Berith Clan
A war-based clan known for strategic dominance and historical neutrality.
They don't form alliances. Most clans instead form service contracts with individual Berith members.

Each Berith undergoes a coming-of-age ceremony to tame a Great Giant Horse. Melody’s horse submitted immediately and requested affection instead of combat, to the clan’s dismay.

Former war strategist under Demon King Delkira.
Golden hair braided once for each child and grandchild. Only one braid bears a golden bow representing Melody.
His face is hidden beneath a golden horse headpiece. His attire is light black with a military cape adorned in medals. His geta-like shoes leave horseshoe imprints.
He is overprotective of Melody due to her lack of wings and rarity as a female Berith.
He once proposed marriage between Melody and Foçalor. Lyric intervened and sent her to Babyls instead.
Post–Heartbreaker Arc Placement
Melody joins Babyls after the security failures of the Heartbreaker incident.
Her presence serves as a preventative measure not absolute protection.
While she can see probable futures, chaotic elements and high-destiny individuals (such as Demon King candidates) appear blurred.
She keeps Iruma’s humanity confidential at Sullivan’s request.

Sullivan : He's my big boss, he's kind and rather funny. I respect him.
Kalego : He doesn't know I know his brother, he's too grumpy though, but I respect him.
Balam : He's very sweet and gives me books to read, although he sometimes looks at me like a specimen, I don't blame him, I respect him.
Robin : He has the most beautiful eyes of all. I don't understand how Kalego can hate him, i wish to persuade him romantically but I don't think he understands my advances…
Orias : He tends to be careful around me after all he's aware I'm aware of everything, I treat him with kindness when possible. I respect him.
Dali : boss, he's a bit silly but i respect him

“Man o’ War” is also the name commonly used for the Portuguese man o’ war, a colonial marine organism composed of specialized individuals functioning as one entity, mirroring the Berith Clan’s structure.
Melody’s grandfather's name, Feustel, and his brother Louis were intentionally chosen to reflect this layered inspiration.
