Sunday Coffee, Donuts, and Forbidden Knowledge with Duke Berith

This is a blog of knowledge, but we actually enjoy entertainment too.

Wouldn't all the teachings about the universe be dry?

They are not. Quite exciting, actually. Stay tuned for that, we will continue soon.

It’s Sunday morning after the thunder rain. Sunbeams peek into my bedroom. I cuddle the spirits good morning and get dressed, hair lazily brushed down. Life is no rush. Presentable enough in my war skirt and simple crop top, I decide, while the astral version of my house is already awake.

And so, away from cosmic mysteries we go, toward a much more pressing subject: convincing Berith of the sweet sins of human created donuts.

The King of the House rises early, and since he settled here, he has taken a serious interest in studying human nature. Their lives, their paths, and the emotions they experience along the way.

Is that considered forbidden knowledge?

I must admit, it is a difficult subject.

The succubi had already surrendered to today's temptation. Two of them wished to make an appearance on our blog and be introduced. Velouria was quietly enjoying her coffee and her treat, while Virelle had claimed a donut of her own and settled into the comfortable atmosphere of the kitchen library. They seemed to agree that some lessons are better experienced than debated.

Berith, on the other hand, was trying very hard to remain focused on his books.

I presented a fresh plate of donuts.

Just for him.

Ancient wisdom has its place.

So do chocolate and pink-frosted donuts.

This is a house of old books, coffee, candlelight, and sugar. Our shelves are lined with knowledge gathered over ages, with new volumes constantly being added. Yet somehow, the conversation kept returning to pastries.

I consider that a success.

After all, what is the point of understanding the universe if you cannot stop occasionally and enjoy it?

Even a lord deserves a donut now and then.

Berith smiles.

Then he takes a bite.
