Im replaying pokemon black but actually reading it and trying to beat the game and just

Cheren, Bianca and N are such sad characters

We all knew N was sad but BIANCA?? CHEREN???? I'm only up to brycen but oh my god

Bianca's whole thing of not feeling equal to her peers because she isn't as strong as them i feel is glossed over because she moves on fairly quick. Well not really 'moves on' more like finds other things that make her happy, like working with professor Juniper. She still (from where i'm up to) connects her 'value' to being useful to Juniper, but she's getting there faster than Cheren is.

And CHEREN??? HES SO SAD?????? HES MISERABLE??????? He is honest to god an INSANE parrallel to N. Like theyre the same person. They have the same outlook on life. Theyre both SO RIGID in their beliefs and need to be metaphorically beat down to see the harm in them. Cheren connects his self worth to his battle prowess. He literally says that becoming stronger is all he lives for and that it gives him purpose. It takes ALDER. THE CHAMPION. MULTIPLE TIMES OF TELLING HIM HE'S WRONG TO GET HIM TO EVEN START TO SEE ANOTHER WAY

I also wanted to talk about the plasma grunts in chargestone cave. Oh my god. I've never felt so much pity for anyone. Theyre in a genuine cult and it messes with their psyche SO BAD.
