Does Jade roller really work?
For the last couple of months I’ve really been obsessed with DIY facials on youtube and something that cought my attention while watching these videos was this green roller named Jade roller. Without even knowing what it does I ordered one from ebay. And here is what I learnd.
About Jade stones: The Jade stone creates harmony of the mind, body and spirit. Jade is said to help with anxeity, fatigue as well as healing. It attracts wealth love and wisdom. Those are just a few things that I have knowledge in, but if you want to learn more about the Jade stone and other crystals I do recomend www.energymuse.com.
What I use this tool for: Helps the circulation of your skin, fine lines and lymphatic drainage. The lymphatic system consists of bodies that provide immune protection to the body and to help the lymphatic system to cope with its "tasks", a special massage is done (could be with the help of the Jade roller).
How I use it: For sanitary reasons I begin with putting the roller in a plastic bag and then in the fridge/freezer. I accidently put my Jade roller next to some onions I had in the fridge, horrible mistake. Not only did my roller smell like onion but my skin did aswell, so try to put it far away from food that smells. My face gets really warm and puffy in the morning, thats when my cold roller comes in handy. Not only does it remove the puffines in my face but the cooling effect is really soothing. I also enjoy using the roller on my eyebrows to release tention. I use the big side of the roller for my face and the small side for my eye area. Roll this tool up and outwards, three times for each section, especially if you’ve put any oils or serums beforehand to really penetrate the product.
Let’s get steaming
Of course my latest obsession had to be my first skincare tip on this blog and that is facial steaming. This method has been used for several years for cleansing and clearing your skin. And if you ever got a professional facial done then you are probably familiar with this method.
For those who literally have no clue what I am taking about, don’t worry I got you. Facial steaming helps to open up your pores so that you can cleanse away a significant amaount of impurities. It also helps your skincare products to work and get rid of the dirt on your face better and facial steaming also increases the blood circulation in your face.
Tips on improving your at home facial: Put essential oils in your water for even a better skin improvement. My favorites are tea tree oil. Tea tree aids in faster healing of wounds and combats acne. I also use Lavender oil which reduces stress and anxiety, lavender oil is also used to treat acne.
I will mention two methods that I use when doing a facial steam. The first one is the DIY steamer where you boil your water, have your face over the bowl (be careful, the water is hot), put a towel on your head that covers your head and the bowl and now you can probably feel the steam on your face. I usually have my face over the steamer fot about 5-10 minutes. But before you do the DIY method make sure that you already used a cleanser. After cleansing and steaming you can go on with your skincare routine.
The second method is a facial steamer gadget, alson known as Facial Sauna. You can find these on amazon. This one works just as good as the DIY steamer if not better (in my opinion). The reason why I prefer a facial steamer gadget is simply because it gives more steam and you can do your skincare routine while using the steamer which I noticed gives better results on my skin.
