what do you like most about your learning?

What I like the most about my personal learning is that I learned skills that directly apply to my degree and my future job. I learned all about content and how to create the best content for the web. I explored YouTube and collected data on something I was passionate about.

what do you like the most about your essay?

The best part of my essay is how I tied how this class will help me with my future career. As a communication major hoping to get a job in the field, I need to create content for an audience. I know the content we learned in this class is vital in our generation, as we practically live on the internet and technology is only improving. I like that I was able to do an essay reflecting on myself and my gains. I thought this was a fairly easy paper for me to write as the class was a content-building block learning new things on top of the other every week.

What is Content?

In the digital age, with the rise of the internet and social media, the term "content" is often associated with information and media shared online. However, content can be anything you want it to be! Content is created for various reasons, including entertainment, education, information, and promotion, and it plays a crucial role in many aspects of modern communication and business. In a general sense, content often relates to information, material, or substance that is created and presented for an audience.

How do you understand collaboration?

Collaboration is a process where individuals or groups work together to achieve a common goal or solve a shared problem. This can involve the sharing of ideas, resources, responsibilities, and expertise to create an outcome. Effective communication is critical for collaboration. Participants need to express their ideas, share information, and actively listen to one another.

What is learning?

Learning is a lifelong and dynamic process that occurs across various settings, from formal educational environments to informal everyday experiences. A lot of people take advantage of how much we are able to learn. A lot of people in college don't realize how many people don't even have access to learning at a higher level. Humans learn from the minute they are born. It is a fundamental aspect of human cognition and plays a crucial role in adaptation, development, and the ability to navigate the world. People actively engage with information, make connections, and derive meaning from their experiences. People learn differently and some ways are better than others for some individuals.

How do you understand creativity?

Creativity is not limited or specific and can be found in various fields, including science, technology, the arts, business, and everyday problem-solving. My major, film, has a lot of creativity as it is a form of art. It is like putting a digital puzzle piece together. Everyone is also creative in their own ways, just because someone is creative in art doesn't mean you aren't creative in other ways. There isn't a single, universally accepted definition of creativity, it is often characterized.

I learned an immense amount from content strategy that I want to highlight in my How to Write Guide. One topic that I will definitely be highlighting is how important it is to focus on audience. I will also be highlighting the importance of connecting with that audience.

What did you learn about content strategy that you want to highlight in your H2WG

I learned more than I thought I would about content strategy. I have previously explored ideas with such, social platforms and communication research, from previous classes I have taken for my major. I learned that it takes a lot of time and effort and most importantly passion to effectively create meaningful content on YouTube. One big thing is being consistent. If you are trying to reach an intended audience you should maintain consistency in your posts/content. This can take more time and planning for a content creator.

how is content creation going?

Content creation is going okay. I was confused about how I was going to go about this part as my platform is YouTube. I kept going back and forth about creating a little video to somehow show some tips and tricks or looking up an online generator that has everything I am talking about right in one picture. I started to use the generator to show important aspects like creating a thumbnail and how that can attract people.

how will understanding content strategy help you in life?

Content strategy involves planning, creating, and distributing content in a way that resonates with the target audience. Developing these skills can enhance the overall ability to communicate ideas clearly. These practices can help me in the professional world as my major is communications. I can take these skills and apply them to my future job. You can learn how to successfully reach an intended audience and learn what will also bring in others to build your brand or channel.

Understanding your audience is crucial in various contexts. In personal or professional relationships, knowing your audience's values, beliefs, and communication style can help you connect with them more effectively and build stronger bonds. Your audience matters because tailoring your communications, and interactions to their specific needs and characteristics leads to more effective and successful outcomes for you as a content creator

Content is everything, and everything is content

This was an example of unexpected content when I was doing my analysis. This is content for this content creator because she likes to share her life with her supporters and viewers. This is her dog Alf and her channel is actually centered around her old pug Mr.Kong. This is her new dog but she still keeps sharing her personal life as it is important to her.

H2WG: easiest part of content creation

The easiest part of content creation will be discussing how to create the actual video. I think using the design and way the videos are filmed will be the easiest to discuss and go over. The way to content is filmed will remain similar to how my creators are already filming. It seems to be working for them so why change it?

I definitely agree with you. I think filming and obtaining that content will be pretty easy. However, I know being in front of a camera needs some getting used to sometimes for some.

How to Write Guide: what will be the hardest part of content creation?

Content creation can be a rewarding but challenging endeavor. The hardest part of content creation can vary from person to person, however, one thing that can be very difficult is consistency. Consistently producing content on a regular schedule can be demanding. Maintaining quality and meeting deadlines can be a struggle, especially when faced with other responsibilities. Another thing that I would struggle with a lot is reaching my intended audience. Getting your content in front of the right audience can be challenging. Competition for online visibility is fierce, and promoting your content effectively requires time and effort.

How to Write Guide: what will be the easiest part of content creation?

I personally think one of the easiest parts of content creation is coming up with ideas. The reason I think this is easy is because it is a little more personalized and caters to what you want to do but also what you think will be fun and engaging. Coming up with interesting and engaging topics for your content can be an enjoyable and straightforward process. I also think another thing that is easy is listening to feedback and building off that, responding to comments, and building a community, this can be a delightful and fulfilling part of content creation.

What is content?

Now that I have engaged with content through content creators, I have a new definition of content. Content is any form of media that sends information to people or creates emotion. The forms of media can be photos, videos, text, websites, blogs, etc. Content has to have a purpose and tell a story. Everything also needs to be concise and consistent when creating content.

I like how in your working definition you included emotion. I think this is an important part of content and content strategy as well!!

Conclusions from Content Strategy

Content strategy is a comprehensive and dynamic approach to content creation and distribution that revolves around understanding the audience, aligning content with business objectives, and adapting to the changing landscape of digital communication. High-quality content is vital for the success of a content strategy. This can come down to the overall quality of the video, your the accuracy of the information. Maintaining consistency in messaging and listening to feedback from viewers is also key to creating better content for your intended audience. Data that I am collecting is the most viewed type of video among the 3 creators to see which one would be most successful in views and likes/comments. These conclusions are directly related to understanding the audience in a given space.
