preparing for the next semester

the first semester of the academic year has come to an end, here is my personal game plan for the next semester ✩ ⋆⁺｡˚⋆
winding down and refreshing the very first thing I’m doing now that the first semester has come to an end is giving myself a real break. intentionally watching content I like, not mindlessly scrolling. reading my favorite books, journaling to relax my mind, watching favorite shows, and maybe even make some art or try old hobbies again.
reflect and reset unpack everything that happened in the first semester, figure out what I liked and what I didn’t, identify what triggered what I didn’t like and what I can do to move on. then, mental refresh. get in the mindset of this is a new semester, a clean slate, i have all the room to ditch bad habits and start over, to act like my best self
seriously catching up on rest you might’ve already seen my previous post on fixing my sleep schedule which contains my sleep goals/plan, so I won’t repeat anything here. obviously, sleep plays an incredibly important part in school and studying, which is why I’m going to be way stricter with my sleep schedule for this new semester.
cleaning up my study space i want to spend less time doing school work on my bed or couch. i need to reorganize my study spaces so i can have a proper place to do work and feel more productive.
planning my weeks on sunday for years I’ve been using a planner for my academics, going into the new semester i want to switch my planning day from monday to sunday so i can js dive into things come monday.
do my homework as soon as possible putting it off is a huge form of self sabotage. I’m getting in my own way, making school harder than it has to be. and the time I spend procrastinating isn’t being used to rest, it’s used to rot. to stress myself out and mindlessly scroll. doing my work as early in the day as possible lets me have time for genuine relaxation and avoids unnecessary stress, in addition to helping me out academically.
using my pretty school supplies im always buying aesthetic school supplies but never actually using them because i like to “save” them. but like girl, save them for what? the whole point of buying them was to use them for school, so I want to use them to enjoy studying a little more + help create the atmosphere/mood I want
goals for the second semester :
actually learn to understand the material, not just memorize it
take every extra credit opportunity
be better with due dates (no late assignments!!!!)
!! put in my best efforts always !!
everything i want for this new semester is 1000% achievable, my only problem is my mindset, there’s no need for me to limit myself! I shouldn’t be so scared of my own potential lmao. anyways, that was how I’m resetting and moving onto achieving my goals!! i hope the second semester will be a breeze for us all ♡
