LEAVING β‘
I started this blog back in 2023, but didnβt start posting until 2024. and when I had started posting, the sole intention for this blog was for it to be my glow up diary. documentation of my own glow up journey, the routines and tips Iβd personally follow, as well as advice I could give, that was what I mainly had in mind.
Iβm not sure if my blog truly ever served that purpose. I have so many posts in my drafts dating from 2024, meant for when my own personal glow up was ready to begin, but I donβt think this blog has ever publicly been a glow up diary. and now in 2026, Iβve finally stopped wrestling with the fact Iβve been struggling to accept since last year. I donβt actually need a glow up diary anymore.
Iβve been disconnected from both the reason why Iβd created this blog and from the posts Iβve been making. Iβve been posting whatever self improvement related posts I can and thatβs been fun to do, but this blog feels so aimless. it doesnβt feel like thereβs a purpose or reason for these posts. while theyβre really fun to make I again js feel disconnected from them. in the back of my mind I knew I was only posting these until I gained back the passion to make posts that aligned with my actual intent for this blog.
so, since Iβve grown out of the only reason I had this blog, itβs time for me to leave. I wanna say that Iβm not giving up on my glow up journey, this is just me realizing that I donβt really need it (donβt be discouraged by this post!) maybe Iβll post my drafts + reblog some of my favorite self improvement posts Iβve found on here, and if any of u have any advice related questions u wanna drop in my inbox I might answer, then after that itβll be goodbye!

my favorite study supplies
pilot frixion erasable highlighters (tried these out this semester and omg I loveee them. been using mildliners for the past 7 years and I thought Iβd try adding something new to my highlighter collection and I honestly prefer the pilot frixions now. my new fave, very much recommend)
kokuyo campus smart ring binder notebook (another thing I tried out this semester. love how u can take out and arrange the pages. they really help romanticize studying too β‘)
muji pen 0.5mm black ink (started using these two years ago and immediately understood the hype. I refuse to take notes with any other pen)
tombow brush pens (my fave for calligraphy, love the colors, good for underlining and highlighting as well. usually use them for journaling but I started incorporating them into my notes to make things look pretty β‘ β‘)
this is list is pretty short because 1. itβs made up of only my absolute favorites and 2. because no one needs a massive amount of study supplies in the first place. I hope this helped anyone wondering what they should buy or look into for the next school year :)
practice questions, timers, sticky notes and tabs on standby, the blurting method, ruffling through textbook pages and notes, the smell of whiteboard markers, everything on the to do list scheduled in a planner, the sound of pencil scratching paper
weekends spent taking notes, vivid highlighters and brush pens, ink smudges on finger tips, a light breeze coming through the window, the smell of textbooks and the light off the computer, the occasional sound of underlining text
goals for spring
β¦ update my wardrobe!!! my closet doesnβt feel like me at all and it honestly hasnβt in years. I donβt own any clothes that are actually my style. it literally feels like Iβm wearing someone elseβs clothesβ¦
β¦ give away old books
β¦ plan for the next quarters of 2026 I donβt want the rest of the year to get away from me! the new years motivation from January hasnβt died down yet so Iβll take advantage of it by making sure the months to come are well planned out.
β¦ cross off old goalsβ¦ idk if this is just a me thing but unfortunately, I have some goals that Iβve been holding onto for a while now. they feel more like deadweight atp, like ik Iβm capable of getting them done but Iβm just procrastinating on them. canβt make room for new goals if I donβt achieve and let go of the goals Iβve made from a completely different point in my life.
β¦ do something with my room the same problem I have with my wardrobe, I have with my room. not only that but itβs also become a complete mess. whether I can fully redecorate my room to feel like me or at least keep the space sparkling clean, Iβd like to see an improvement with my room this spring β‘

how yall are gonna find me once I get over my phone addiction

your phone is making you uninteresting π
the only thing that is able to get me to put my phone down is remembering that my phone is making me boring. spending time scrolling isnβt a hobby and by spending hours and hours on my phone thereβs little to no time left for actual activities. all my leisure time is used up by my phone.
and the scary part is that if you donβt watch yourself, your screen time can completely take over your leisure time. youβll look back and realize you havenβt spent any time doing hobbies, youβve just been on your phone. youβll catch yourself saying you βused to doβ whatever hobbies you have or you βused to be intoβ whatever interests you have, because the truth is you havenβt touched them in months. or worse, a year. phone addiction can rob you of your hobbies and interests. without even realizing it, your phone can become your only pass time.
if you feel like this is you or if you want to prevent this, here are some of my tips and things you can fill your time with instead of your phone.
1. use your screen time for good
itβs gonna be hard to immediately make a habit of staying off your phone and having a lower screen time. so, start out by using some of the time you spend on your phone to benefit you. learn something. donβt just associate learning with school. this is your opportunity to chase knowledge out of passion and curiosity the way weβre meant to, not because weβre being forced to by a curriculum we didnβt choose nor have any interest in. whatever youβre interested in, however niche the topic, there are free resources out there. learn more about the thing youβve wanted to be smarter about, learn more about your personal interests. and if you wanna take it a step further, there a free online courses and certifications you can get as well.
2. donβt have your phone be your only/main coping mechanism
donβt let your phone be your go to coping mechanism, thatβs what makes the addiction extra hard to break. the constant stimulation makes for good escapism but it rarely makes anyone genuinely feel better. my suggestions are painting, reading, going for a walk, and journaling but everyoneβs different so find out what actually works for you so you can have your own effective strategies ready to go instead of reaching for your phone.
3. find something you actually want to do
often times, when we brainstorm new hobbies and habits, it can be hard to ease into them because weβre simply not as interested in them as we thought. take reading as an example. most people want to want to read, their desire to become a reader and be a person who reads a lot is bigger than their desire to actually read. sometimes thatβs just the reality. Iβm not saying this to encourage you to just drop every new thing you try that you donβt immediately love, Iβm saying that when you make a list of things you want to do to replace your phone, add one thing you know for certain you will enjoy. because the truth is, sometimes weβre on our phone because we genuinely want to be on our phone. weβre entertained by tiktok, we enjoy pinterest, we laugh at instagram. so yes, take the opportunity to find new and productive hobbies that will challenge and better you but also include things you know you already enjoy. donβt forget about the things you love, make room for them, because thoseβll be the biggest things to help your screen time get lower. youβll have a hard time if you replace entertainment with something that bores you, thatβs just gonna lead to you going back to your phone.
4. watch films/documentaries
my favorite alternative to using my phone for leisure time is watching films or documentaries. itβs just as relaxing but thereβs so much you can gain from it. watch movies from different countries, from different decades. learn about culture, gain a new perspective, be inspired. this is also a good way to slowly improve your attention span.
5. air dry clay crafts
super fun and can be a bit time consuming so itβll be a great distraction from your phone
6. read comics
if reading novels doesnβt hold your interest and you want a chill activity to do to replace scrolling, than try reading comics or mangas, any and every form of storytelling is important.
7. make any kind of art
idc if youβre not βtalentedβ, idc if it looks bad, make art. draw your favorite things, draw things you see in real life, draw from your imagination. use paint, use charcoal, use pastels, use markers. art is so versatile and will always be what I recommend for screen less hobbies. so many free tutorials and resources online as well. you can find and purchase art kits as well.
8. make collages out of pictures and magazine cutouts
9. find free events in your area to attend
