so my dad's car insurance called me today and was like hey we're trying to get a hold of this dude and found your name and thought y'all might be related (i have an incredibly uncommon surname). so I was like yeah that's my dad. can you tell me what he did this time

and i could tell she wasn't supposed to tell me, but heard the absolute exasperation in my voice and just knew i was his child. she described that there was "a fender bender, and an altercation, in a restaurant parking lot" and that his lawyer was trying to get a hold of him to tell him his court summons had been waived

my parents own a restaurant so I figured it was their parking lot but upon asking my mom i have learned

it was a burger king parking lot. he physically fought a guy in a rural pennsylvania burger king parking lot. love and light ☀️

update: my dad's response to my questioning

got the full story from my dad:

-pulled up to the burger king drive through and a guy was just standing in the way. my dad rolls down the window and tells him to get out of the way

-guy goes over to the window of my dad's car and starts yelling at him for some reason

-guy throws a slushie in my dad's face and then starts to walk off

-my dad, and i quote, "just fuckin blacked out" and, in an apoplectic haze, hits the dude with his truck, not hurting him but flinging him a respectable distance and knocking him to the ground. i at this point ask why he didn't just get out and punch him. he says "i don't know something just came over me", while understanding this isn't an excuse to hit people with your truck

anyway my dad's on probation now

My experience as a blind/visually impaired astrology nerd and the accessibility project that I’m starting

About a year into my journey of learning about astrology (still got a lot to learn) I had to take a break because I had to stop doing any kind of reading so I had to either use a screenreader (which took a few weeks to get the hang of) read audio books (only found one western astrology book on bookshare back in 2017) or ask people to read things too me (this option was reserved for schoolwork)

In May of this year I realized that looking at pinched images of charts online takes up lots of eye spoons so I started to make a shorthand for astrology in alt text which I completed this year to try and make all of the info fit into an image description

I also have started posting image ids on astrology posts on twitter when I have the spoons (i use words rather than the alt text shorthand)

Then I decided to google if there is an astrology Braille symbols like there is for music (im no where near fluent at reading Braille but should probably learn it) there wasn’t so I asked on Reddit for advice on trying to make one

If anyone has any other ideas please share them

Did you ever play those LPS video games growing up?? My grandparents had bought me an LPS game for our Wii one Christmas and I played that for HOURS. And then there were all of the LPS games for the DS??? I think you can buy them real cheap online actually now but they were genuinely some of the funnest games I had ever played not gonna lie.

omg yess I don’t think I ever had lps games for the wii but I definitely had some of the DS games, they were SO fun :) I reallyyy wish I still had a DS lol
