So after talking with my friend @terraqua111 we both started talking about what pokemon the mercs might have. These were the teams I made...and then some. Since I got the idea, what if kinda like in actual pokemon games and in tf2. They have mulitple options, just can only equip a certain number at a time. So the mercs in total have 15 pokemon each. Just have their main teams.
Hopefully ya'll can see my vision.

Scout- Jolteon, Ninjask, Electrode, Boltund, Zapdos (Galarian), Combusken
Backup Pokemon: Electrike, Zebstrika, Raboot, Talonflame, Kilowattrel, Staraptor, Lokix, Accelgor, Hawlucha
Of course, he mostly goes for pokemon that prioritise speed and quick movements. He brags non stop that he has a legendary bird. (he got it completely on accident but will never admit that).
I headcanon he's had Jolteon and Electrode the longest, in fact he found Electrode as a Voltorb, almost mistook the thing for a baseball and got a zap...and immediately wanted to keep the thing.
He doesn't really remember how he got Ninjask, he just recalls having it one day. (he doesn't know that Spy left it for him... Ninjask always flutters around Spy when he's close by though. Spy tries not to react to it)
He always takes his pokemon out for runs, and if he doesn't he gets ambushed. They demand WALKIES.
Soldier- Braviary, Garchomp, Obstagoon, Clawitzer, Falinks, Bagon,
Backup Pokemon: Dugtrio, Cramorant, Ursaluna, Rhyperior, Incineroar, Sharpedo, Chestnaught, Cranidos, Kingambit,
He trains his pokemon quite frequently, even letting them literally attack him. It's often you'll see him just getting attacked by his pokemon and he just takes it with barely any reaction. In fact sometimes he laughs at it. So don't be shocked if you see him fistfighting Ostagoon or Incineroar.
He takes Bagon rocket-jumping, he commends the little guys tenacity for trying to fly and dammit he'll make the troopers dream as close to reality as he can get. HE WILL FLY DAMN IT ALL.
He has made medals for each and every one of them.
He has an uncanny ability to just attract the most random creatures to find him. Soldier has many times shown the others a 'new friend' he made an it's the most random and sometimes powerful pokemon and it quickly leaves after a while.
Pyro- Rapidash, Magmortar, Tinkaton, Flareon, Clefairy, Stufful
Backup Pokemon: Moltres, Vulpix, Skeledirge, Altaria, Mawile, Galarian Weezing, Heatmor, Comfey
They have a shiny Magmortar, Altaria and Moltres. No one knows how the hell they managed to snag a shiny three times, let alone a SHINY LEGENDARY of all things. Scout is defintiely not the tiniest bit jealous that Pyro managed to one-up him not at all.
Tinkaton was a gift from Engineer, he found a Tinkatink and thought it was a great fit for Pyro. And Pyro indeed loves their hammer swinging cutie.
Almost all their pokemon know at least one fire move.
Comfey and Weezing were suggestions given by Medic and Demoman. Comfey to help with medicinal remedies if they need it outside of battle, Pyro just adores the flower crowns mostly. Weezing was for the big kaboom and some benefits around Pyro's interests. Pyro loves how silly they look, but their ability to make the air a bit clearer is a great plus.
