I love how everyone thought "who the hell is this kid?" when the trailer originally dropped, but now we all adore him 😆 Although shoulda been expected, any new character edition is always done well

Definitely huge spoilers if you haven't seen or read about The Last Shadow play, but I wanna write my theories somewhere before the finale 😆 But here are my theories for how the show will end as someone who did see the play (it was incredible btw, if you ever get the chance please see it!!)...

I think the cave memory that Max and Holly saw is a fake-out of sorts. It's at least not the full memory. In the play, Henry is still a sweet, but troubled kid. I think that scene is to trick the audience into thinking he was always some murderous psychopath, & I think the audience might learn the full story at the same time Vecna learns what truly happened to him (ie. that he met the mindflayer back then and has actually been under his influence for the majority of his life).

After watching the play, I think it became clear that Henry Creel was a victim. His mom at the very least saw something was up with him and instead of showing unconditional love for her son she feared him and wanted to fix him. Brenner used him for his own personal gain...every adult in his life failed to give him the support he needed & I think Will/Joyce shows what Henry's life could have been if he had been loved and accepted for who is. Anyway, all this to say that once Vecna learns the truth I think he will ultimately end up dying and help defeat the mindflayer. This potentially gives me Darth Vader vibes as well, we do love love to see a former good guy redeem himself in the end.

With the mindlflayer gone, I think everyone with powers will lose them. The only reason they have powers is due to the mindflayer, and I think this sets up the ending to have less "what if's" as we don't have to worry what will happen when there's at least a handful of super powered kids out there.

I think at least Holly, but could very well be any of the other 12 kids, will be able to utilize powers of their own to fight against Vecna/the mindflayer. The third Nightmare on Elm Street movie is supposedly a confirmed reference for this season & that is essentially what happens in that movie (ie. the victims within Freddy Krueger's dream world are able to get powers there to fight back).

I don't personally expect any of the main cast to die, I think the Duffer Brothers story telling for this show value character development and overcoming trauma to become their ideal selves (which also aligns with A Wrinkle in Time). I could see Kali dying as she is not a part of the core cast. I'm willing to accept I could be wrong on this, but I am not convinced that all our faves are gonna die.
