since there is such an "english speakers who don't even try to pronounce a foreign mame correctly" epidemic, native english speakers often try to overcorrect and end up thinking they have a moral imperative to pronounce every foreign name correctly at all times. so i'm gonna hold your hand and look into your eyss as i say this: you can't. you can't pronounce every sound in a language you don't speak. and that's fine. it happens to the rest of us too. we won't be mad so long as you try your best.

okay moot you made me curious what is trollhunters (this is your chance to infodump all you need)
rubs my hands deviously ohohoo hello mutual so "trollhunters" can technically refer to two (or three) things; The book, published in 2015 written by guillermo del toro and daniel kraus. The series aired in 2016 made by dreamworks and guillermo del toro. Or the overall tales of arcadia series Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia is the first installment in the cinematic universe of tales of arcadia. it follows our protagonist, Jim Lake Jr, who, after being chosen by the amulet as the first human Trollhunter, (yes it sounds like they hunt themselves, jims friend asks this exact question, but they hunt the evil trolls called gumm-gumms thats why) has to navigate the two lives of being a teenager and protecting both human and trollkind from the followers of gunmar the black (gumm-gumms) alongside his best friend toby, his mentor/sorta father figure blinky, and AAARRRGGHH!!! (yes thats how its spelt officially) whos also here but hes an amazing character i swear we love aaarrrgghh what probably led you here is my post about finishing the 2015 book, which is about as disconnected from the series as the httyd books are, if you understand that. very different from the series, much gorier, much darker, somewhat different characters, but still a compelling story that i'd recommend. its not as popular as the series but its got a little cult following if you know where to look i believe OH and other tales of arcadia installments are 3below (about aliens crash landing in the california town of arcadia oaks, pretty disconnected from trollhunters but still set in the same universe and quite fun if you liked trollhunters), and wizards (you might think its about wizards but it reads more like trollhunters 2 so if youre planning to watch them all just dont watch wizards without watching trollhunters youll miss a lot of context, and its arguably the weakest of the three imo)

Erid, the homeworld of the Eridians, is the first planet orbiting the star 40 Eridani A; it is approximately twice the size and eight times the mass of Earth, with about 29atm of presure and 2.09Gs at its surface.
Due to its dense atmosphere, it is impossible to observe the planet's surface from space; however, maps cataloged by the Eridians themselves and radar images obtained by Salvastra suggest that the surface consists predominantly of land, featuring four continents and two distinct, non-contiguous oceans.
The planet lacks poles as we know them, since temperatures are too high to allow water to freeze. The thick atmosphere also results in a relatively uniform surface temperature, lacking some of the most extreme natural variations observed on Earth.
In general, most Eridian settlements and cities are located underground. The human Biodome and the Space Elevator are situated just outside one of the planet's largest surface cities, located in the southern coastal region of the largest continent. The city itself is a hub of intense international scientific activity and—following Grace's arrival—tourism as well.
Since Erid has no moon, its tides are controlled exclusively by its rings; and, given that Eridians are blind, the movement of these tides served as their early method of keeping time (much as humans did with the Sun or the phases of the Moon).
In most Eridian calendars, a "day" is still measured by the tides, and a "day" as humans have it (the time it takes for the planet to rotate once on its axis) is used exclusively in scientific contexts.
