ISU World Championships 2016

Silver - Yuzuru HANYU (JPN) = SP 110.56 + FS 184.61 = 295.17

It was ... surreal. Short program - champion rental. Strong, powerful, technically, musically. Free skating - a misunderstanding. I do not know what happened, but it was awful. Disappointment and perplexity. Again the silver medal. With the program, which is designed to win and delight! He was world champion and Olympic champion, he does not need to prove anything to others. But the fight is with himself, and he lost it.

7th - Shoma UNO (JPN) = SP 90.74 + FS 173.51 = 264.25

He is a hard worker! He tried very hard and really wanted to show a decent performance. I respect him as an athlete. It greatly changed the balance of elements, complicated program. He fell a lot in training to 4T. And he has fallen dramatically during the rental. Tears of frustration and pain while waiting for assessments ... Strong-willed and strong boy.

According to the result of the two programs, Japan has regained the 3 spots for the next World Championship 2017 in Helsinki. Japan - the only country that has the right to put in Helsinki 3 athlete. 2 spots are: Spain, China, Russia, Canada, USA, Czech Republic.

As the result of two programs JSF loses 1 spot in junior men: 12 + 15 = 27 - that the rules of selection for the next ISU Championship [the sum of the top two places is less than or equal to 28] is 2 spots .

It was terrible for Japanese of young men championship.

As of this season, I have decided to retire. I have many memories of my career. I remember every competition, especially competing at the Vancouver Olympics, winning the Japanese Nationals, and finishing second at Worlds. Missing the chance to go to the Sochi Olympics, managing to perform as I wanted at the 2014 Japanese Nationals after struggling throughout the Grand Prix Series. These have become precious experiences. Though this means leaving the ice, I decided to start my new life as an employee at Toyota Motor Corporation. It was a huge decision on a huge turning point in my life. Through the courtesy of Toyota Motor Corporation and the figure skating world, I am given a chance to say farewell at the final day of Stars On Ice, 17th April. From now on, please continue to guide and encourage me.

Bronze - Sota YAMAMOTO (JPN) = SP 72.85 + FS 132.46 = 205.31

It was not the best performance. It was another step in the development. Sota was very difficult in the Final. It depends on him this season very much. Good luck to him and stability in the World Championship!

Gold - Yuzuru HANYU (JPN) = SP 110.95 + FS 219.48 = 330.43 (3 WR) Bronze - Shoma UNO (JPN) = SP 86.47 + FS 190.32 = 276.79 6th - Daisuke MURAKAMI (JPN) = SP 83.47 + FS 152.02 = 235.49 

It was unforgettable great!

I hope the failure of Barcelona in the free program will Murakami Daisuke strength to fight on. His great program this season! Not very strong, but balanced and music. I wish him not to despair.

Shoma showed a strong performance. In the future, he can catch the title of "King of Step sequence " from Takahashi Daisuke. He plastically moves, holds speed, owns emotions and creates an image on the ice. He has grown beyond this season. "Nessun dorma!" - Is about free program Shoma Uno in the Final. He has a great future, they work well with his coaching staff.

He broke his own world record set for 2 weeks before the final. Today, all the world records in the men's singles figure skating belong to Hanyu Yuzuru.
