in case any of y'all care, Philippines is killing off press freedom. ABS-CBN, a major tv station just got shutdown, citing lapsed contract. in reality, the tv station asked for its renewal before the quarantine began, but the renewal was refused by the congress. now that the congress cannot convene (because quarantine) for the appeal of the renewal, the national telecommunications commission just ordered a cease and desist order to ABS-CBN, who promptly complied
