Been awhile since I have posted any otoko poi. Iki and dashing!
first of all i was like this guy! and his smile!
then i was like. oh. his obi. there's no "slump" like usual masc style. ohhh is that embroidery or is that the actual construction of the fabric
A lot of younger guys will wear their obi in a more hanhaba obi esque way nowadays. Especially skinnier guys who don't like to pad or put their wallet/phone above their obi seem to find a less casual style fits their aesthetic. I think you could draw a line between kitsuke becoming more formally taught and the overall change in what is seen as a cool presentation. As for the obi, it's woven.
