Okay I am seeing a lot of posts saying Jax from tadc sees himself as Max.... as someone who has hyperfixated on Sam and Max, IHNMAIMS, and for a short time before it fumbled the bag tadc, I can say with the minimal authority I have...
Jax does not see herself as Max.
Jax did not fucking see "Sam and Max" in any iteration. Im not sure she was even born when Fox Kids was on the air. She clearly watched Cartoon Network slapstick to get her bits and jokes.
Jax bases her humor off of physical comedy and what she claims is jokingly verbally abusive; its not jokingly its hurtful and threatening, but ignoring that, its nothing like Max's style of comedy.
Max is a notorious bad shot, filled with vibrating violence only contained by Sam's warm hand, verbally witty and therefore his verbal abuse is much more intellectual so it flows seemlessly with Sam's set up without stopping the flow of conversation. Compared with Jax its like a Boxer's direct punch Vs. a rabbit punch.
Jax's jokes hit and hurt on the first try, Max if he's quick enough can devastatingly insult you and you'll take it as Compliment.
And in the most weird way, Max treats women with more respect. Max hates women and is CLEAR about his distaste. He doesn't leave ambiguity or sexually harass or sexually exploit, he told them to fuck off. His communication is weirdly so clear it makes women feel safer and in turn treat him friendlier.
Jax ties women to her to destroy them and then expects exoneration for her transgressions. She manipulates them through guilt.
Max REVELED in his wrong doings and in the lawsuits his presidency recieved. He didn't want forgiveness, he wanted another maimtron 9000 to match his 99 other maimtrons. Belgium had it coming! he swears!
Jax put up mask after mask after mask to bury herself as deep as she could. No one was allowed to learn a single detail about her, not preferences, not history, not even what her avatar does when she holds her breath.
Max doesnt wear a mask, his face is just kinda natually flat; Like resting bitch face but more dissociative. The man is confident in his sexy body, his sexuality, his gender, his hatred of stilettos because they pinch his toes too tight. He is happy to tell you his favorite foods, how shitty you make them, favorite splatter-punk movies, what torture methods are the best, his love of Sam, how smart geek is, what gossip he's heard from sybil. Max is an open book to whoever wants to read and happy to bite the fingers off someone he doesnt like and will tell them why. He just got stone face syndrome.
Jax is unlovable because she made herself as such and HATED herself. She pushes everyone away and expects them to chase her down to tell her it's okay that he lashed out.
Max doesnt CARE if anyone loves him because Sam loves him, so the world can burn. Plus to rub it in, Max does have others who love him. More than 5 people Grieved when Max died. (More so if you count the multiple times he died then got better)
Max has left positive marks in people's lives that when they see him they say hi and welcome him instead of flinching.
Gangle feared then next time she would see Jax.
Honestly I see the Bojack Horseman and Jax comparison much more accurate and interesting.
....off point but thinking on it... I think Max says "Thank you" more often than Jax too... which is weird cause I never considered Max and Manners in the same room before...
