I saw that you were perfect and so I loved you. Then I saw that you were not perfect and I loved you even more.

The Head Tie by Boscoe Holder
Blue Devil. Carnival. Trinidad and Tobago.
The Blue Devils are among the most vibrant and energetic traditional characters in the Carnival of Trinidad, one of the largest in the Americas. Akin to “jab molassi” (or “molasses devils”) and sometimes identified simply as “jabs,” blue devils paint their clothes and skin blue, often by using ‘azulillo’, an ordinary bluing laundry tablet. It is difficult to date the origin of the blue devils accurately, but they can be traced back at least to the period before World War I, and some claim much earlier. Blue devil “bands,” as the groups are known, appear throughout Trinidad, in places like Point Fortin and Arima. But they are often associated with the mountain district of Paramin, about a half hour from Port of Spain, the capital of Trinidad.

Data has more wisdom than most living beings in the Star Trek universe
I really enjoyed drawing these and I’ll draw more another day uwu. As always thank you for your ideas, you guys are the best! Hope you all like it ;)
Btw, if you want to “adopt” one of them, just tell me and it’s yours (give them a name and a story… all of that <3)
My favourite is the vulcan/klingon hybrid. I bet she’s super strong and disciplined (not all klingons are uncontrolled and violent for no reason) but very passionate and… kind of romantic.
I also have a problem with the cardassian/aenar one because aenars need cool weather, but cardassians need hot weather so ????

Got this image before sleep last night. How I presume my body is divided.
The fact that Kirk’s last line in his final movie is “second star to the right, and straight on till morning” really rips me up inside. This is a man who spent his entire time on the bridge quoting Shakespeare, Charles Dickens, the American constitution, and classic texts that would instill feelings of grandeur among his crew. What does he say when Starfleet asks him to return his ship and end the journey that defined his whole life? He quotes Peter Pan. He says it with such playfulness and that same gleam of hope in his eye he had when he first began captaining the Enterprise. Kirk refuses to grow up, just as Peter Pan does, even if he knows it’s inevitable. If he’s too old to keep this up anymore, then Starfleet is going to have to pry his rank and ship from his cold, dead hands. He’s going to Neverland, where he and the crew he’s gotten to know and love with all his heart will never have to end their journey through the stars.

This hurts. Please protect us. Please protect my sisters. I’m begging all non-native people to please watch over us, keep tabs on us, don’t forget us when we go missing, please don’t let us die in vain.
Hey guys, another woman has been reported missing. We are 13 for 13. Please reblog this, we need allies right now more than ever.

Jonathan Myrick Daniels (March 20, 1939 – August 20, 1965) was an Episcopal seminarian and civil rights activist. In 1965 he was assassinated by a shotgun-wielding construction worker, Tom Coleman, who was a special county deputy, in Hayneville, Alabama while in the act of shielding 17-year-old Ruby Sales. He saved the life of the young black civil rights activist. They both were working in the Civil Rights Movement in Lowndes County to integrate public places and register black voters after passage of the Voting Rights Act that summer. Daniels’ death generated further support for the Civil Rights Movement.
In 1991 Daniels was designated as a martyr in the Episcopal church, and is recognized annually in its calendar. He is memorialized in the Civil Rights Movement and other venues.
