Hey Cherri, I love all your AUs and the most recent comics. I wanted to know how does your headcanons of Al compare to canon? We see canon Al and others react to these AUs but not to in depth of what they think at them as a whole. It’s totally cool if you just leave it up for interpretation or if you just don’t feel as comfortable commenting on “canon” character

Oh what a sick question... so im not someone who full sends personal headcanons for alastor like i loooove everyones different ideas or takes on his character and why he does what he does. BUT here are some things I adopted into my interpretation of his character:

- He was a serial killer that had a code of morals (hurt those that hurt others etc)

- He died young in comparison to other characters

- Orphaned at a young age

- He really likes the hotel and the general hotel cast!! But after the events of S1, he tried to forcibly take a step back because it scared him how much he was willing to put on the line for his fucked up version of found family

- above reason is also why he panicked and saved Niffty and Husker's life in S2. The deal was the end goal but he rushed to it bc of the circumstances.

- He doesnt actually hate lucifer, that is a defense mechanism / projection of his own distaste for his biological father.

- Rosie's deal is what curb stomped any chances of Alastor getting close/forming a partnership with Vox. Vox's tantrum after being rejected is what closed the chapter entirely.

- He doesnt really fuck with redemption because he believes sinners dont deserve it, not because he thinks its impossible (this is prior to S2 ofc)

- He is a dork hidden behind a gentlemen's exterior. He tells old timey puns. He's GOT to be a little loser-ish.

Tbh I feel like canon Al keeps the friendship with Minzy is that it makes sense to him. She takes and in turn he had a fun drinking buddy and someone to gossip with. I can also we that as a possible explanation for allowing his relay to get to where it was with Vox pre-offer. This new sinner has a few questions and I have some questions about what’s been going on topside and/drinking companion. It wasn’t until Vox offered a partnership that he realized how far her let things go. Idk just one way to interpret not the only explanation!

Ohh i do like that idea. Mimsy is comfortable bc its expected she'll take from him - sometime, someplace, somewhere.

Maybe she was also a ticket to certain events / meeting certain people in his living life???

I’ve spent the last few days wondering how a Hazbin video game could work.

Like a hit the note musical game? A fighting game? An adventure game? A dating sim? A choice based game?

I eventually settled on a mix.

You could be a normal sinner trying to become an Overlord by making deals and growing your power. Custom your Sinner form!

You have a choice to choose a faction. You can join the hotel! You can join the Vees! You can go solo or join one of the other overlords.

You can play through the story and make choices that will either benefit you or screw you over later.

As you play you can grow your friendship with the canon characters by increasing favorability.( You already know who I would go after first.)

You can have a mini game where you hit the notes in songs from the show!

You can Adventure through Pride and all the districts and have fights with other sinners and Overlords to increase your power!

THE POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS!

here's my warmup aka an excuse to draw charlie and vaggi

Alastor is a prince that lives in a fairytale world full of magic, talking animals, and musical numbers, but one day his father decides to marry him off to the king of a neighboring kingdom to finalize a treaty. Alastor tries to fight back against his father's ruling but he doesn't have a say.

Even if Alastor wanted to marry this king Vox sounded like an awful man. His kingdom was powerful but always at war like he was trying to rule the world instead of just his kingdom.

So Alastor asks a favor of a witch named Rosie. He wants her to send him far away from there so he would never have to deal with his father or Vox again.

Alastor ends up in our world and he doesn't understand what is going on. He hadn't expected the place she sent him to be this different from anything he'd ever seen before.

Unsure what to do Alastor just starts wandering through the streets until he can find somewhere to stay.

Meanwhile Lilith is on her way home with Charlie when their taxi almost crashes into Alastor. Charlie is immediately in awe of Alastor. This guy looks like he just walked out of a fairytale so he must be a prince! Charlie runs out of the car to see him and Lilith chases after her.

It becomes immediately clear that Alastor is desperately confused and has no idea where he is and with some prodding from Charlie they decide to bring him with them so they could get him help.

They go home and Lucifer is shocked to see that they're not alone and very concerned as to why they would bring this strange man into their house.

Lucifer and Lilith go off to the side to argue about this and Alastor ends up falling asleep on their couch.

They had been planning to call him a car and get him where he needed to be but Charlie was begging to let him stay because he was obviously very tired and he needed their help! Lilith and Lucifer end up letting him stay the night.

One night becomes longer and everyday gets significantly weirder. Charlie becomes more and more convinced that Alastor is an actual prince from one of her fairy tales and with all the singing and befriending animals that Alastor is doing they kind of understand why.

But as weird as Alastor is he's also so sweet with Charlie, and he's a good cook, and he's funny, and oh no are they falling for him?

Though of course nothing can be easy because Vox found out what happened and decided to hunt down his runaway bride.

When ever people are like "but the Vees are better friends to eachouther than the hotel staff" yeah thats the point. The hotel is about suporting community and if you make friends along the way cool. The Vees are about only helping people they like and who suport them. Your community isn't just your best friends it's also that lady with the yappy dog and the guy whos always cranky and the person who smells bad. Charlie wants to help everyone not just her friends.

That's also why she doesn't like grill Alastor on wether or not he's there for good reason. It doesn't matter what his intentions are she wants to help him be better even if that's not what he's there for.

This. It's why I enjoy the Vees the most as characters, but I'm definitely on Charlie's side. I want to see her better herself as she betters things for everyone around her.

People get so weird about when Charlie isn't being pushy, when it is her being pushy that is portrayed as her ignoring boundaries. But people hate when she does, then want her to ignore that again and push people when she isn't ignoring boundaries.

So yes. Charlie isn't my favourite character, but there are very few characters in this show I'm not invested in seeing how their canon journey ends up. And I'm very interested in her character arc. I'm glad she is the main character of Hazbin.

Also, the Vees might be better friends, but better friends "to" each other? Might be stretching it. Their relationship arc seems to be learning that. After all, it was accepting how they are toxic in ways to each other that kept Val and Vel from putting their feet down as Vox went manic. And unfortunately that led to him becoming suicidal when his plans fell through.

Who knows if they will realize that, but as they didn't abandon him, they have taken responsibility for Vox. So hopefully they will learn to be better to each other. Even if that's a long way from being better in general, I can see it as Hazbin showing how the worst of all people can start a path toward redemption. They just need to want to.

I have a Hot take about Val.

I dont think the SA alone is why he is the most hated character I've ever seen. I think it is becuase of the dressing room sceen.

In this sceen is the first time we establish just how much power he really has over Angel which is to say complet and total. We have spent 4 epiodes half the season seeing this guy as well a person only to watch that personhood get violently riped away from him. See this giy whos outherwise cool, calm, confident fold completly becuase the only thing he can do to 'defend himself' is to roll over.

I think deep down that is actually everyone's greatest fear both in and out of a Sa context. The idea that you no longer get to make your own choices, that you are prevent from portecting yourself, actually being held in a position where your reduced to a object. That's horror.

Like in this moment he is as scary as any movie monster. Worse part is he know exactly what he's doing.

Which this is the thing that actually makes Sa the worst. It's becuse it isn't about sex it's about power. Power over your own body. That's why I think he's a perfect depiction of a predator. His goal is to get the satisfaction of control.
